The welcome into the pretty restaurant was lovely, and the unusual menu and method of ordering the dishes incorporating a type of chess game was fun, each dish was sublime, various gratis amuse bouche etc. Will come again soon!

All in all a good dining experience with good atmosphere and friendly staff. However, one of the appetizers was not quite my taste, or to put it more precisely, I felt that (a) the overall taste was off, and, (b) the constituent tastes was not compatible. I mentioned this to staff and their reaction was that the particular dish was in the menu for xyz years. I would have expected a different response, from yes we will alert the chef, to taking the particular dish out of the final price. None of these happened. Disappointed by a restaurant aiming to provide a fine dinning experience.

A total gem of a restaurant. Had no expectations before coming here but my wife and I enjoyed every minute. The staff were attentive, friendly yet enabled us to enjoy the experience allowing the perfect amount of time between each course. The food was out of this world delicious . A real experience on the senses! I’d highly recommend.

I would like to keep LAUNCESTON PLACE a secret as I have been coming here for over 20 years and never been disappointed. Ben Murphy is a triumph as Head Chef with food delights to the eye first and then the taste. Exquisite. Keep it up. The whole team are amazing and make lunchtime dining with friends a relaxed and gastronomic delight.

this is a nice restaurant with a simple menu. The sercice is very good, people nice and friendly, making you feel comfortable and creating a good relationship. The food is very good, a bit nouvelle ciusine or fussy sometimes, but overall creative. The first amuse bouche were delicious. The setting has nothing special but the distance between tables is just right and the noise level good enough for atmosphere while we can still speak to each other without shouting.

Lovely place - amazing food, creative, and fairly priced. That said, the automatic service charge was 15%, highest I’ve ever seen outside the US, which does impact the value.

Had the 3 course tasting lunch and asked the Som to provide wine matches. The food is delicious and beautifully presented. Service was excellent, attentive and friendly. The restaurant is laid out well and provides for a more private, intimate dining experience. The dress code is smart casual but you will see people dressed more casually. A nice break during our vacation in London.

This was an excellent lunch. There were two new dishes on the menu – oxtail tartlet as a first course and, for dessert, mango mousse with jalapeno. Both were first class, as was the main course fish dish, now cod in a totally new presentation, with a vin jaune sauce. The menu evolves, often introducing new elements of presentation with the main element of a dish, such as the constant presa, so that it achieves a remarkable balance of comforting familiarity and interest in the new combinations of flavours. Wines by the glass also continue to be chosen to provide very good matches with the flavours of the food and service is always both efficient and pleasant. Long may this continue.

Like magic the chef turns farm-to-table, locally sourced ingredients into the most delectable chef’s tasting menu. What a sublime feast from start to finish! The staff are so professional, warm and knowledgeable about the ingredients. It’s difficult to choose a favorite, though the squab Wellington is not to be missed. There are pescatarian and vegetarian dishes with a number of options, including a three course prix fixe . My husband and I enjoyed the birthday meal and the ambiance. Just go.

Excellent food, artfully executed, in a cozy part of Kensington. The menu might seem limited to some but what the kitchen puts out is memorable. Service was like a well-tuned orchestra performing at the highest level. I’m not a particular fan of nouvelle cuisine, preferring classic preparations, but I am very glad to have dined in this very special place.

Very limited menu with little information due to the way it is designed One veggie/one fish/one meat for starter and main Two desserts/cheese (very small now, no longer the nice cheese cart to pick from) Two rounds of extras from chef which were better than menu Have been a number of times to this venue but was disappointed this time. Venue is nice and I got my usual table. Staff ok but not as good as in the past.

There are restaurants which are nice to visit and those you must go to. This friendly restaurant in Kensington is the kind you put on your bucketlist. The tasting menu was a wonderfull and delicious experience.

There were six in our party and we all ordered the tasting menu and paired wines. It was a birthday celebration. Three guests came from Canada specifically for the dinner. So, it was important that the evening be perfect. The Launceston fulfilled that role by providing a fantastic meal, lovely setting and impeccable/friendly service.
