To say that our experience at Laurie Raphael (QC) was 'outstanding' would be doing L.R no justice. The very best meal(s), ambiance, & service we have ever received. We were still talking about our meal for hours after. I feel as though it would be very difficult to find another restaurant locally that rises to the exceptional service Laurie Raphael provides, as well as the incredible menu. Worth every nickel, my boyfriend & I spent our anniversary dinner absolutely floored with every plate served to us! Thank you for such a special night, we will 100% be back & will be recommending your restaurant to everyone back home in Ontario!
Impeccable food, service, ambience. We greatly enjoyed our five course meal with sommelier wine pairing. Merci beaucoup to the entire staff at LaurieRaphael!
This was our third visit to Laurie Raphael. We've had lunch here twice and now, two years later, dinner. To say that we were disappointed is an understatement. The first segment of our dinner where a waitress explained the menu and its themes was unnecessarily complicated and pretentious. On top of this, one could barely see the menu with its small brown on brown print in the low light and one could barely understand the non-English speaker who spoke very softly as well. We selected the five course meal with the sommelier wine pairing. The melon soup that accompanied the second course had a bad taste. When we complained about this, the maitre d' never apologized or offered a substitution, saying only "others like it". Interestingly, at the next table, we observed another diner who took a sip of the melon soup and never finished it either. We were also disappointed in the sommelier wine pairing- in terms of its quality and compatibility with the various courses. When we asked about one particular wine, the waitress couldn't communicate its origin to us, saying something like "Knee uh gress". Once we read the label, we realized she meant "Niagra". Although we stated we didn't like this particular wine, our waitress merely shrugged. No substitute was offered. Lastly, we didn't find any one of the dishes memorable, contrary to our previous experiences at Laurie Raphael. That was the biggest disappointment of all.
Birthday celebration. Hugo our waiter was great!
There are four themes, each with two courses, in addition, there are two dessert courses, so a total of 10, plus a bonus dessert for the table to share. We have a 10yr old. Usually the restaurant requires everyone at the table go with the same tasting menu, but they made a reception for us. We did the full four theme 10 courses while our daughter went with two theme six courses.
The food was exquisite, portion is slightly bigger than most tasting menu items we had else where, presentation is beautiful and service was impeccable. We also tried the non-alcohol drink pairing - each pairing was unique, refreshing and a perfect match for the course. Of all the courses, my favorite was the lobster (both tail and claw), it was very tender, juicy and light enough to retain the natural flavor of lobster. I also liked the surf clam and the quail. The quail dish came at the end, when I was already quite full, yet it was so good that I had to finish the last bite. The veal was a bit over cooked than my liking, but the rest of the courses are all fantastic!
We enjoyed the evening. If we are ever in Quebec city again, we will come back for more great food that looks and tastes like art.
very expensive, the food is definitely overrated, no air conditioner, would never go back nor suggest to anyone
Don’t ask - just eat! You may be surprised at what you like if you give it a chance...that is if it’s created and prepared by the Chef at LaurieRaphael...it was AMAZING and while it was pricey, it was worth it!
Laurie Raphael was a fun and encompassing experience. From the start of the meal to the service to the charming decor, it was a very nice experience.
We had the three-course tasting menu, with sommelier pairing. I thought the sommelier pairing was great value, and the wines really worked with the meals. The food was delicious and beautifully presented. Their service was impeccable and rather friendly.
Laurie-Raphael is a fantastic restaurant. It may be recognized as one of the world’s greats. I would highly recommend going there for special occasions.
Best 5 course meal tasting we've ever experienced
Très bon accueil et personnel attentionné. Très bonne expérience gastronomique.
Service exceptionnel, nourriture extraordinaire.
Dining at Laurie Raphael is a memorable experience, from the initial welcoming discussion to the gorgeous dining room and on to the inventive cuisine. The themes enhanced the presentation of the courses, each of which were artfully presented and delivered complex flavors. We were less impressed by the wine pairings, which were served with generous pours, but at least two were odd choices that detracted from the flavors of the food course, and overall the quality of the wines did not measure up to the $120 per person toll.
We loved our experience at LaurieRaphael. Our 5 course tasting menu seemed more like 10 with the father and the son both having bites in each course. Excellent service, delicious wine. Highly recommend!

We were not quite sure what to expect, and that's what we got! The food was exceptionally creative and good. The service was impeccable. The ambiance was intentionally a bit bizarre, but in a good way. We were not hungry at the end (in fact quite satiated) which we sometimes are in this kind of a place (often plenty of quality at the expense of quantity). The format was interesting, sort of mid-way between a prix fixe and a set menu where there are no choices at all. We'd go again, and probably will next time we are in town, even with so many other choices. Expensive and a splurge but largely worth it.
Gastronomical heaven! Blessings to the chef and crew!
Simply amazing!! On a recent whirlwind tour of Toronto/Ottawa/Montreal/Quebec, I took my teenage daughter and her friend to Laurie Raphael for dinner for a special occasion. Everyone from the manager to the servers to the chef and kitchen staff were friendly, helpful, courteous and knowledgeable. My daughter's friend is a vegetarian, and the chef met with her prior to our dinner to ascertain any dietary restrictions. He created a special menu for her; she loved it! We ate slowly and were not rushed. I had the Canadian wine pairing option, and it was very impressive. The manager took us to meet the chef after our meal. It was nice to see the kitchen and to be able to thank the people who so skillfully and thoughtfully prepared our dinner. Extensive wine list, creative cuisine beautifully presented, local ingredients, delicious freshly pressed juice creations, great service from all aspects, and top notch management. I already referred Laurie Raphael to a foodie friend in Toronto who is visiting Quebec in the fall. When I return to Quebec, I will definitely have dinner here again. My advice to anyone thinking of dining here: Do not miss an opportunity to dine at this restaurant!
Everything was very good. We need to do this one more time to come to final conclusion. Thanks. Staff 👍🏽😘
All was perfect, from the beginning till the end. The experience was great.
The emotion was there when we met the Brigade in the working area.

A true gourmand's restaurant run by a chef with a gift for extremely creative and delicious cuisine based on regional farms and fresh local seafood. We chose the five-themed tasting menu (in effect, ten small tasting plates) along with the suggested local wine pairings. This was roughly a three-hour experience. Portion size and timing was perfect, so we never felt overwhelmed. Every course was excellent. Service was five-star level, but very friendly. A delightful difference from the heavier and more traditional cuisine that dominates the scene in Quebec.
One of the best deals we’ve ever had. Will go back when we’re are next in town.
Room was very hot. Most dishes were excellent but a few were misses.
Quelle belle experience!
The experience was magical from start to finish. The quality of the food was exquisite. I am very happy to have eaten at Laurie Raphael.
