LaVinia Ratings and Reviews
Everything at LaVinia was impeccable. From the wait staff taking our coats when we walked in to the chef coming out to wish my fiancé happy birthday, we loved the entire evening!
Great food and service. Owners really care and put lots of pride into their food.
I love the place is cozy and the food was great!! the service excellent
Authentic Spanish food prepared with love! Wine list has original, private collection, which is absolutely worth having!
Once again, Chef Fernando delivered an outstanding meal. His flavours are truly incredible. Your staff is lovely and welcoming, we feel like we are at home when we visit.
Great tapas, excellent menu... Chef Fernando does a wonderful job along with everyone that works beside him. A must visit.
Excelent place with exceptional food. Everything-tapas, main meal, deserts- exceeded our expectations. It's not cheap but you definitely get full value for your $.
Excellent service and delicious food. I would recommend to friends and colleagues alike.
Had a great meal. We really enjoyed the variety. Chef came out several times to make sure everything was satisfactory. Also, treated to a complimentary dessert for our anniversary.
My visit was a delightful experience with delicious authentic Spanish food that reminded me so much of when I lived in Sevilla
I wish I lived closer so I could eat there more often!!!!
Delicious food, great service. Very enjoyable experience
The service was exceptional being prompt, friendly, knowledgeable and professional. The food was delicious and filling. The interior was cozy yet classy. The wine was absolutely delicious as was the food. My girlfriend loved it!
Outstanding food! Fernando is a gifted chef! Never a disappointment. Highly recommended.
Food and wine was amazing. Our waiter was friendly, funny, and attentive. He provided great suggestions that really helped as this was our first time at the restaurant. Each dish was flavourful and hot. Dipping the bread in the oil from the garlic shrimp was a great suggestion. Creme brûlée and coffee finished off the meal perfectly. I would strongly recommend this restaurant and make your reservation early.
I absolutely love this place. They have done a great job of blending fine dining and comfort food. The food is terrific and the service is super attentive. This was my 5th time there and I'm not done . The family who run this place are warm and authentically invested in your dining experience. Did I say the food is terrific? It is . Jamie (son of the chef I think) is really dialed in. I can't say enough about this place. It's high ranking in the Toronto food scene is well earned
Fantastic food and service. Authentic Spanish cuisine.
Great food and very attentive servers. The chef came out to check on us. Great wine. A little expensive but well worth it.
Last night dinner when my brother and his new wife were visiting TO together for the first time. The staff at La Vinia (as always) made it a memorable evening. Even if we were a few minutes late.
Fernando is an amazing chef! He creates interesting dishes full of flavour. Wonderful meal! The staff are welcoming and friendly and make you feel at home.
We were a group of 4 and shared 5 tapas which were all delicious. Then shared a couple of paella dishes that we all found dry, lacking flavour and probably overcooked. Stick to the tapas.
Decent, authentic paellas. However, menu selection is limited.
We drove 45 minutes in rush hour to eat here, we love this restaurant and make sure to come every time we are in Toronto. Owner makes a point to say hello and welcome you.
Food is amazing, service excellent!
Have been to this restaurant several times over the years. Weekends are hard to get in, otherwise I would go more often.
Cozy family restaurant with great service and engaged owner/chef.
My favorite is paella that in my opinion is the best I have found in TO
A great town gem, that's small and entiment. Food was new and had a great twist to some famous Spanish dishes.
Great experience, went with a group of four pre concert. Had six tapas and the Spanish seafood paella all where fresh tasty ingredients presented in the pure Spanish style. The owner chef visited our table twice to see how we where enjoying the food. Highly recommend the fried milk desert with an awesome Spanish coffee. Great all around experience. Will return soon.
Very friendly and attentive service.
Excellent food - tenderest octopus and wonderful paella.
Love the chorizo!
We went with our 2 daughters (8 & 10). We had a nice time.. wonderful service, tapas (octapus, meetballs, shrimp) and paella. We'll defintley be back.
Third time at LA Vinia and it still exceeds expectations. Excellent food, great service. Ordered 4 tapas for 4 people. They bring one at a time so everyone can share each one. Paella for 2 serves 3 people. Good wine selection as well. Highly recommended.
Amazing food! Incredible professional service! Great value. This place is an absolute Must!
Ive been to Lavinia a numer of times but this was really dissapointing. The service was bot up to standards. Noone came to our table to take drink orders or offer soecisls after we got our water for 25 minutes. Also the appetizers came far too slowly. We orderd the chicken croquettes which were good and the octopus was good too. The scallops were a miss as they were served room room temperature and wete raw in the middle despite being seared. Some people complained about the appetizers being expensive here and have to agree. $14.95 for 3 small scallops???The croquettes were also small. Like little potatoes-5 of them. We ordered paella and it was tasty but my group found it too runny and not crispy on the bottom at all. It was also pretty skimpy and mostly rice. I ate at Vibo last week and although it is not spanish their seafood risotto was absolutely loaded with seafood and same price as Lavinia. Not sure if it wad an off night but will not be coming back anytime soon.
Great dinner to celebrate our friends birthday.
Food was delicious, service was excellent
Amazing Family dinner!!!
Love the food and service!!!!!
Service was great. Attentive staff was always at hand. Tapas was delicious. Best paella and good portion sizes
Great spot for Tapas ! Very friendly staff .. Fernando the owner is front and center which is great to see.
Was good but nothing to wow me. Service was amazing and owner very hospitable.
Spanish food expertly done, great place! Highly recommended.
La Vinia is a Mimico neighbourhood gem. We were there on a Wednesday and it was absolutely hopping. Service was excellent. Our server was knowledgable, professional and courteous. We were there for a business meeting and one of guests was from
Uregauay and he ordered the paella and was pleased with his choice and stated it tasted just like "home"
Great food and great service. Chef and reservation team was able to make adjustments and accommodate a request for an earlier table if available. Food was overall very well done, only issue is with the chicken in the paella - chicken breast chunks are not such flavourful cuts of meat and are very dry/ hard (not much can really be done to them, but the juices of the paella coated it and made it worth eating regardless). Using thigh meat would be much better option instead as well as using slivers instead of bigger chunks . Seafood in the dish was very well done on the other hand. Tapas were amazing - crab croquettes and spanish meatballs - definitely worth the order.
Too much food but tasty (wasn't warned about the paella portions). Asked to get it packed but they didn't bring it back for us. First time and it was for my birthday but no one asked even though I listed it in my reservation. It was nice that the chef came out to ask how everything was near the end of the night, very classy and nice touch. I'd go back for the flavours :)
Suggest leaving tapas selection to the waiter: he did an excellent job for our group of 5. LaVinia is now one of my favourites
