The food was great as always but my drink with brunch was really tiny (not worth the $12). Love the atmosphere overall but found it a tad too loud to have a conversation over brunch.
Great food but the noise level is too high. It's really hard to have a conversation. Only knock against Lisa Marie. I would still return cause the food is that good.
The restaurant was full, as usual, and getting the waiting staff to pay attention to us was sooo difficult. Maybe it was because the music was so loud we couldn’t hear each other? The food was good, but getting anyone to give you water or coffee during your meal was difficult, everyone was so busy!
Everything about it was perfect. The menu is just stellar and there’s tons of choice.
Food was good, menu was not too large so easy to pick. A couple of things...restaurant was very noisy and hot! They could do with a few ceiling fans to circulate air when they have the front window open.
Our server was horrible! Rude, curt and barely made eye contact let alone greeted us. Didn’t make for the best experience. The kicker...apparently for a table of 6 there’s an auto grat, ridiculous! I’ve been a server and bartender and I know tips mean a lot, but I wouldn’t have tipped her.
Very loud, squeezed between people because small, overall just no.
Really great service food was quick and the bartender made our drinks extremely quickly. A bit noisy if you hit peak periods though
Extremely uncomfortable bar stools. Thankfully once the food arrived I was totally focused on how delicious it was instead of how sore my back was!
My mother and I drove up for a concert back in September 2017 and first discovered Lisa Marie's then. This past weekend mom flew up from Florida to Buffalo to drive up to Toronto with me for a concert and to have more Pad Thai Fries at Lisa Marie's. What mom wants, mom gets!
I have to say, the shared table feeling this time around felt awkward (it was 4 of us last time so we had our own table). We kept saying that we have sat in restaurants at close tables before, but this just felt more awkward. And tight knit. It was hard to get out when we left, too. I pardoned myself but no one would move so I had to squeeze through and got a dirty look from one woman. I apologized and said I tried to pardon myself but you didn't move for my ample behind... ha ha! People!
Brunch was delicious. I got the Pea Meal, Eh sandwich and mom the Salmon BLT, we went halfsies. I preferred the salmon and mom preferred the pea meal, go figure... ha!
Our server was very nice but kind of disappeared for a good 30 minutes. We would have gotten another drink during this time but there was just too much time in between and we wanted to get going and site see before hitting the road back to Buffalo.
But next time with mom we will forgo the Pad Thai Fries and try a different restaurant. If the opportunity arose though to go back to Lisa Marie's, I would absolutely go and try something different on the menu again.
My only complaint is the seating, well the chairs, I find sitting on a bar stool rather uncomfortable for a meal and would have preferred an actual chair.
Loud, we couldn’t even converse. The waitress was always missing for long periods of time. I had a reservation and was seated at a table with other people. When w table was free and I asked to be moved there I was told it was reserved for people with reservations. There are no side dishes (rice, veggies etc), I had 4 pieces of chicken served to me from their Summerlicious menu. Drink menu was terrible.
Cool spot, our server was great. A bit loud and our order took a bit long to come but its a cool hipster spot and fun with friends.
Love this place! Live music on Thursdays is great. Gets a little loud as the evening progresses
My son and I met up for dinner after work. We had made a reservation but arrived shortly after opening so I'm not sure it was even necessary. There were lots of seats available. The food was good - we had the tuna nachos to start and then shared the tandoori chicken platter. Each was the perfect amount of food. My son also appreciated that they serve Big Rock Beer. I'll go back - I think it's a great spot for a group or to meet up with a friend before going on somewhere else. The high tables and backless stools are uncomfortable after awhile - not a place you're going to linger over drinks or coffee and dessert . (maybe that's the point?) . We missed out on the live music - they were just setting up as we were leaving. We'll try to time it better the next time we go.
Have been to Lisa Marie’s several times and was travelling to Toronto with dear friends and wanted to share our love for this great gem of a restaurant..all were impressed by the food the ambience and the service!!
Thanks Lisa Marie’s
The ribs were dry and the portions were small. The fried chicken was the highlight.
My girlfriend and I chose this spot because of the Summerlicious deal. We're fans of Fidel Gastro, so it was a no brainer.
Aside from our favourite Pad Thai Fries, we were eager to try new food. We were not disappointed. The Ribs, the Korean Chicken - OMG!
Lisa Marie might have just become our favourite restaurant; we'll definitely be back!
Minor issues with the food. Overall food was very tasty and the service was very pleasant. Very loud music and conversation. Would go back.
I tried this restaurant with my partner for summerlicious. I was quite disappointed with the service. The restaurant was busy, but is expected on a Friday night. The server forgot to bring us our drinks, and the tables next to us received their food late (after they had ordered before us). I was full after three courses, but thought the portions for the main dishes were small.
We love Lisa Marie and come here often. However, this time the service wasn't great. My husband ordered cold brew, but they brought hot coffee to him first. He had to follow up a few times before they finally brought cold brew... All four of us ordered shakshuka, which came cold.
Amazing food and service.
I usually have a great dining experience at Lisa Marie, however, when my friends and I went for Summerlicious, there were many errors in our order. My friend has a cilantro allergy, and we specifically asked for no cilantro on a dish--it came out with cilantro, and she had to wait for another one to be prepared. I tried to wait until her food came out, but by that time mine was already cold. Also, I am a vegetarian, and when we asked for bacon on the side, the dishes came with bacon in them. When the orders were correct, however, the food tasted great.
Ordered literally everything on menu, they thought we were joking at first as it was only 2 of us. But every dish that came out was amazing.
Great staff amazing atmosphere
We went back to Lisa Marie to celebrate a birthday. It happened to be Summerlicious and the menu was fantastic. It pleased everyone from our meat loving boys to our vegetarian daughter in law. We enjoyed the Pad Thai Fries, Kung Pao Califlower, Ribs, Korean BBQ chicken, Tuna Tacos. All were delicious. The only downside was that there was not a dairy free dessert but that was minor in the overall experience. It was a bit noisy but it was a fun atmosphere.
Upbeat place perfect for a Friday night casual dinner with friends. Seoul chicken was amazing and they've got some unique drinks worth trying. Place gets busy really quick, reservations for their tables is a must!
Lisa Marie was excellent as always. The atmosphere is a little loud, but thats just the vibrant nature of the place. +++++
Food was ok. A bit overpriced for the quality. Our eggs benedict was a bit overcooked.
Loved the food at Lisa Maries, was hard to select a meal even though the menu is quite small as everything sounded good. We were there on a super hot day and the restaurant does not seem to have a/c just a heads up. Otherwise great experience!
Had brunch there last Sunday, and while the food and drinks were good, the place had been definitely over-hyped, and I think I expected more. I did appreciate being able to make a reso for 5 - an increasingly rare commodity in the TO brunch scene. That’s said, the menu options all sounded better than the actual execution. Two of us ordered their take on avo-toast benny, and it was good but not spectacular; the duck fat home fries were tasty, but did not feel much different from regular home fries with Dijon on them. My partner got the Cornish hen waffle - frankly, it was rather dry. I’ve had this sweet/savory combo elsewhere done much better. The cocktails were pretty good, not many complaints there, but I’d recommend going for the more involved drinks to get your money’s worth- the mimosa, at 12$ for bubbly and grapefruit juice, was a tad underwhelming. Overall, the vibe is pleasant, a bit loud; the World Cup was on the projected screens, but didn’t really bother me. Service was ok, though they did rush us out the door in the end. I get it that it’s busy and all, but when you see that the party is just waiting for someone to get back from the washroom to leave, you can spare them another few moments, no? Maybe that’s just me. At any rate, it’s a good place for groups, and it’s decent but somewhat overpriced brunch.
After much anticipation, I finally managed to get to Lisa Marie.
There were differing reactions from our group, some enjoying more than others. I'm on the fence... the kung pao cauliflower is amazing; the tuna nachos underwhelming. For friends, hits were the meat board, pork belly and the chickens; the misses the cheese plate, the kimchi rice, the aforementioned nachos, and the pad thai fries (they were good but a bit of a one note wonder that needs more pad thai elements...).
Overall the meat eaters were happy - maybe that's the specialty?
Amazing food and service. It`s all unique, not run of the mill.
There was some confusion over the reservation I made, hopefully the system is worked out between your app and the restaurant for future customers.
The meal was good regardless.
Overall, it was good branching at Lisa Marie. Me and my friend had some problems having a good convo due to the noisy background. But it is how the place is, not something that should be changed.
Unreal food. Unreal decor. Unreal everything. The pad Thai fries and fried hen and cornbread waffles were a huuuuuuuge win!
Great brunch! We had a reso for 10 and they sat us right away, were attentive as new members of our group arrived, and all of our food came at the same time. Would definitely go again!
I went to Lisa Marie for the first time for a birthday brunch and I was genuinely surprised by the amazing food quality, the friendly safe and awesome aesthetic! Definitely would recommend!
My husband wanted to come to Bar Lisa marie as we were downtown for our anniversary. He knows the chef (he is a chef as well). We met friends for brunch. Great server - cute and fun. The food was phenomenal! Great experience overall.
Service was very slow and server was not friendly
Accommodated our big group by the open window which was awesome. Very loud but we liked that ambiance.
