Have been to Lisa Marie’s several times and was travelling to Toronto with dear friends and wanted to share our love for this great gem of a restaurant..all were impressed by the food the ambience and the service!!
Thanks Lisa Marie’s
The ribs were dry and the portions were small. The fried chicken was the highlight.
My girlfriend and I chose this spot because of the Summerlicious deal. We're fans of Fidel Gastro, so it was a no brainer.
Aside from our favourite Pad Thai Fries, we were eager to try new food. We were not disappointed. The Ribs, the Korean Chicken - OMG!
Lisa Marie might have just become our favourite restaurant; we'll definitely be back!
Minor issues with the food. Overall food was very tasty and the service was very pleasant. Very loud music and conversation. Would go back.
I tried this restaurant with my partner for summerlicious. I was quite disappointed with the service. The restaurant was busy, but is expected on a Friday night. The server forgot to bring us our drinks, and the tables next to us received their food late (after they had ordered before us). I was full after three courses, but thought the portions for the main dishes were small.
We love Lisa Marie and come here often. However, this time the service wasn't great. My husband ordered cold brew, but they brought hot coffee to him first. He had to follow up a few times before they finally brought cold brew... All four of us ordered shakshuka, which came cold.
Amazing food and service.
I usually have a great dining experience at Lisa Marie, however, when my friends and I went for Summerlicious, there were many errors in our order. My friend has a cilantro allergy, and we specifically asked for no cilantro on a dish--it came out with cilantro, and she had to wait for another one to be prepared. I tried to wait until her food came out, but by that time mine was already cold. Also, I am a vegetarian, and when we asked for bacon on the side, the dishes came with bacon in them. When the orders were correct, however, the food tasted great.
Ordered literally everything on menu, they thought we were joking at first as it was only 2 of us. But every dish that came out was amazing.
Great staff amazing atmosphere
We went back to Lisa Marie to celebrate a birthday. It happened to be Summerlicious and the menu was fantastic. It pleased everyone from our meat loving boys to our vegetarian daughter in law. We enjoyed the Pad Thai Fries, Kung Pao Califlower, Ribs, Korean BBQ chicken, Tuna Tacos. All were delicious. The only downside was that there was not a dairy free dessert but that was minor in the overall experience. It was a bit noisy but it was a fun atmosphere.
Upbeat place perfect for a Friday night casual dinner with friends. Seoul chicken was amazing and they've got some unique drinks worth trying. Place gets busy really quick, reservations for their tables is a must!
Lisa Marie was excellent as always. The atmosphere is a little loud, but thats just the vibrant nature of the place. +++++
Food was ok. A bit overpriced for the quality. Our eggs benedict was a bit overcooked.
Loved the food at Lisa Maries, was hard to select a meal even though the menu is quite small as everything sounded good. We were there on a super hot day and the restaurant does not seem to have a/c just a heads up. Otherwise great experience!
Had brunch there last Sunday, and while the food and drinks were good, the place had been definitely over-hyped, and I think I expected more. I did appreciate being able to make a reso for 5 - an increasingly rare commodity in the TO brunch scene. That’s said, the menu options all sounded better than the actual execution. Two of us ordered their take on avo-toast benny, and it was good but not spectacular; the duck fat home fries were tasty, but did not feel much different from regular home fries with Dijon on them. My partner got the Cornish hen waffle - frankly, it was rather dry. I’ve had this sweet/savory combo elsewhere done much better. The cocktails were pretty good, not many complaints there, but I’d recommend going for the more involved drinks to get your money’s worth- the mimosa, at 12$ for bubbly and grapefruit juice, was a tad underwhelming. Overall, the vibe is pleasant, a bit loud; the World Cup was on the projected screens, but didn’t really bother me. Service was ok, though they did rush us out the door in the end. I get it that it’s busy and all, but when you see that the party is just waiting for someone to get back from the washroom to leave, you can spare them another few moments, no? Maybe that’s just me. At any rate, it’s a good place for groups, and it’s decent but somewhat overpriced brunch.
After much anticipation, I finally managed to get to Lisa Marie.
There were differing reactions from our group, some enjoying more than others. I'm on the fence... the kung pao cauliflower is amazing; the tuna nachos underwhelming. For friends, hits were the meat board, pork belly and the chickens; the misses the cheese plate, the kimchi rice, the aforementioned nachos, and the pad thai fries (they were good but a bit of a one note wonder that needs more pad thai elements...).
Overall the meat eaters were happy - maybe that's the specialty?
Amazing food and service. It`s all unique, not run of the mill.
There was some confusion over the reservation I made, hopefully the system is worked out between your app and the restaurant for future customers.
The meal was good regardless.
Overall, it was good branching at Lisa Marie. Me and my friend had some problems having a good convo due to the noisy background. But it is how the place is, not something that should be changed.
Unreal food. Unreal decor. Unreal everything. The pad Thai fries and fried hen and cornbread waffles were a huuuuuuuge win!
Great brunch! We had a reso for 10 and they sat us right away, were attentive as new members of our group arrived, and all of our food came at the same time. Would definitely go again!
I went to Lisa Marie for the first time for a birthday brunch and I was genuinely surprised by the amazing food quality, the friendly safe and awesome aesthetic! Definitely would recommend!
My husband wanted to come to Bar Lisa marie as we were downtown for our anniversary. He knows the chef (he is a chef as well). We met friends for brunch. Great server - cute and fun. The food was phenomenal! Great experience overall.
Service was very slow and server was not friendly
Accommodated our big group by the open window which was awesome. Very loud but we liked that ambiance.
The food was poorly cooked and cold upon arrival. The waiter pushed me towards a beer that was not at all a lager, when they had no lager on tap.
I am rarely shocked by how overpriced and awful food at a downtown Toronto restaurant can be. This was one of those times.
It was friendly service load overall but good! I’ll go again
I booked a table for 4 so we would get a decent table as we were meeting friends from out of town. They seated us at a corner of someone else's table which wasnt ideal as the music was far too loud and the other people we shouting to speak as well. The first server we had was very rude and just seemed to hate her job. After being there for about 30 mins and only been served cofee, we seen another table become free and asked to change tables. After about a 4 mins they let us switch tables. We got seated near the windows which was much nicer. It was a little more quiter and the table was better to chat with our friends. The 2nd server was a much friendly women and the rest of our experience was really pleasant. The food was yum and I would recommend this place for food. I would warn that it's abit too loud to meet up for a proper chats with friends as music is just so loud.
Good vibes, good food, laidback environment.
Had a wonderful time at Lisa Marie! Great staff, super drinks and the food was wicked good!
We were disappointed because after we ordered drinks, we were told there was no more chicken on the menu (at 7:15pm!) and they will be closing down at 8:30/9pm that there was a special event. If we were told earlier of these 2 things, we would come back another time. Quite disappointed. The wrap was good.
I came here with some girlfriends for my birthday brunch, the main bonus being that they accept reservations. As for everything else, it was supremely disappointing. I had perhaps the mistaken impression that the food quality would be higher, being part of the Fidel Gastro chain. It was a bar doing brunch, and not well. I had the California Benny, where the bun quickly got soggy and side salad was 'meh'. Mainly it was the service. The server mixed up part of our order, which we pointed out and she said she would bring separate sides. So my friend and I started eating our meal, and then she came back and asked to take our plates back to the kitchen to switch our sides to each other's plate. I'm pretty sure that's some health code violation. Then, she still brought an extra side of fries, so we had a crazy amount. To top it off, instead of asking if we wanted the bill after asking if we wanted anything else, which would have moved us along, she said "I don't mean to rush you, but I need this table in 10 minutes". We had not been there more than an hour, and she knew we were celebrating my birthday. Super disappointing.
Restaurant was dirty. Bathrooms filthy
Service was poor
Food was old and wilted and overpriced for value
Truly an exceptional experience. Bomb food, every single time. Great cocktails, good music and awesome service.
One of if not the best brunch spot in the city, I can't wait for their new restaurant.
The service on Saturday night was slow. I don't think they had enough wait staff on. The food is good but it's important to keep the service up too, not everyone could get drinks or order when they wanted to. And with the 18% gratuity included for groups, it didn't feel right.
Went for my birthday brunch last weekend. The restaurant was accommodating to my large party. The food was good, I enjoyed the bacon explosion benny and the Brunch special Ceasar they had. I would go back. The space, however, was a bit underwhelming, I somehow expected a more ambient place. but its still good for casual dining.
Bad service. Had to wait in line even though we had a reservation. They didn't have a table for us so they made us share a table with some other people that walked in. Food was okay, nothing special.
Got the smoked platter, which was a mistake. We have had the food before and loved it but the platter was super dry.
It's been nearly 4 years since I've been back. This will be my last time there. Service was wonderful and atmosphere was cool. Very accommodating to our group of 8 which included 2 young children. Unfortunately the food is why I'm there and it was horrible. Our waitress asked if we'd like the food served immediately when it was ready, or for it to sit and wait until all meals were ready. Of course we wanted fresh meals so we asked for it to come once they were ready. It took all of 5 minutes for the ceviche to arrive (3/5), but with the ceviche came our two orders of fried chicken (1/5). This is way too quick for fried chicken and it was apparent once we bit into it. Extremely dry/tough, and lukewarm (at best). Even the chicken drumstick was horrible and that takes some serious effort to screw up.
