Stadt Konstanz
Beautiful ambience, high quality food and high food art. It was a very nice touch to have our anniversary be acknowledged with a divine chocolate dessert. The menu has strong flavors, I don’t like all of them but appreciated the boldness and summer to fall earthy tastes. The only negatives: Service was not matching the quality of the food, had to wait a long time for drinks initially, I was several courses into the meal when my wine finally arrived. When we asked twice for the wine the answer was that I had not finished my cocktail. The ice has melted and the glass appeared full even though the drink was done. The waitress had odd responses during the evening and did not seem to manage the tables, at times our courses came really fast and then long stretches of waiting. It was not a smooth dining experience. The desserts where all good but three courses? It felt overkill. We could not enjoy it as it was too much. We ended up being there 4.5 hrs which was way too long. We were ready to leave at 3 hrs. Took a long time for the bill as well. Afterwards we did not feel great about the whole thing as it felt not well managed, our evening ended so late. It’s a great setting, good food, beautiful plating but not much thought to how this actually would impact the diners experience. We will stay at the hotel again but next time skip the restaurant.
