About the restaurant

D.O.P. is a journey that started with a large family who immigrated from a small village in the heart of Italy in 1979. With them they brought the memories, traditions, and recipes of the old country. For over 14 years my parents operated an Italian restaurant in Ontario. This journey continued when I moved to Calgary, inspired by my father, I continued working in the restaurant industry. His legacy and my exposure to the diverse food culture in the city helped shape the concept of D.O.P.

Being a second generation Canadian, I want to honour both my Italian roots and Canadian upbringing, by sharing our families’ recipes and adapting them to our Canadian landscape.
We are privileged to share with you the time-old traditions and memories of a family whose passion for Italian cooking created a legacy.

So come on in, leave your shoes on and let’s make more.

Amazing food. Definitely a place I’d recommend if you wanted to try a lot with friends for a family style dinner. Staff was extremely friendly and made the evening amazing with the conversations and laughs.

Getting to River Cafe is just a walk in the park.

Access River Café on Prince's Island Park from:
1. North side crossing the Bow River and Memorial Drive at the Calgary Curling Club.
2. South East end of the island at the 2nd street SW bridge, directly East of Eau Claire Market.
3. South West end of the island at 6th Street SW and Eau Claire Way near the Peace Bridge.

Eau Claire Plaza is currently closed for construction.
Parking is available on the street in the Eau Claire area, underground at Eau Claire Market or North of Memorial Drive.

Lulu Bar is an escape from the ordinary. Its welcoming vibe is reminiscent of hidden gems from your last vacation, only better because it’s right here in your own backyard. With a healthy, Pacific-inspired menu, Lulu’s wood-fired food is light and fresh — but heavy on flavour.
Chef Joseph Sokoloff’s fare is a tribute to the Pacific Ocean and many of the regions that touch it, with influences from Asia to Hawaii, California to British Columbia. Lulu’s fun, light, and refreshing drink menu is equally well-travelled. Its sake, beer, and creative cocktail offerings will make you feel like you’re far from home — and we like that.

Super fun experience, food came out fast, perfect size portions for sharing. Great for a date night but would also be a great vibe for a larger party. Drinks were really good, lots of variety. Would go back :)
