Chapter One is an award-winning Modern European restaurant with 3 AA Rosettes in Orpington, Kent. Following a major refurbishment in early 2019, Chapter One has relaunched with a more modern approach, tempting guests with greater variety and quality.

Under the direction of acclaimed chef Andrew McLeish, modern European cooking is available in two formats. Michelin starred Frog by Adam Handling is a place to really submerge yourself in a theatrical show. You’re facing the kitchen, the chefs come to your table and you are able to really interact with every member of the team. Frog is luxury in an environment where you feel comfortable being whoever you are and where all elements in the restaurant are connected to offer a truly memorable experience.

The dishes are very emotional and they all mean something to Adam. Each and every one of the dishes has a story behind it, whether it’s a memory from Adam’s childhood or something that has inspired him or the team.

The Harwood Arms re-opened in September 2008 after some much needed refurbishment.
This rural haven in the middle of Fulham is a collaboration between Brett Graham of the famed Ledbury restaurant, Mike Robinson of the acclaimed Pot Kiln pub in rural Berkshire and Edwin Vaux from the famous Vaux brewery.
The idea is to provide Londoners with a really relaxed venue for eating the finest British produce, cooked amazingly well, accompanied by excellent beer and wine at a great price.

We had a fabulous meal at the Harwood Arms. I can't think of anything that I could suggest that would improve the experience. If you think you would like to go reservations open 90 days ahead so be ready to book when you are planning your visit to London. I think it's worth it to plan your day around your meal here. Very easy to get to via the Tube

Friday dinner starts at 6pm until 11pm (last seating is 9.30pm).

Saturday dinner starts at 5.30pm until 11pm (last seating is 945pm)

On Sundays we are open from 12pm until 3.30pm for Lunch

A lovely summers evening with a table by the window seat overlooking the south bank and Tower Bridge, together with perfect service and a wonderful menu made this a great dining experience.

Currently opening for dinner, Tuesday to Saturday, this branch very much beats its own drum with a menu structured towards a slightly less formal manner of dining, with guests actively encouraged to share dishes as they're ready from the kitchen.



As well as selling goods to take home from our bakery, wines by the bottle or the case can be bought from our lists to take home with some delivery available.



Bread & Wine has been voted Best British Restaurant by the Evening Standard and named as best value restaurant by The Observer Food Monthly.

The staff were welcoming and attentive, made a celebration meal very memorable. This was our first time at the Ivy and the menu, venue and food were excellent, recommended for a special occasion or treat.

The staff were welcoming and attentive, made a celebration meal very memorable. This was our first time at the Ivy and the menu, venue and food were excellent, recommended for a special occasion or treat.

In addition to the food, we offer a selection of fine wines, quirky cocktails, and have a collection of over 25 craft gins available.

World War I poet Siegfried Sassoon lived in Matfield and is the inspiration behind our name. Sassoon was awarded the Military Cross for "conspicuous gallantry" and later won acclaim for his writing. We're pretty sure he would have loved our food too!

We enjoyed a truly outstanding tasting menu with wine pairings at a reasonable price.

Our menus are seasonally-focused and change daily based around the best produce delivered each morning.

We suggest bookings, but do take walk-ins.

In addition to our a la carte menu, we offer a £29 set lunch menu (January to November), and on Sunday lunches we serve a splendid roast.

If you are interested in a table for more than 6 guests, we have a Private Dining Room that seats up to 14. A seasonal feasting menu is available. For more information please give us a call.

I had a wonderful dinner at The Quality Chop House. I started with the Devon crab and prawn ravioli, which was delicate, fresh, and packed with flavour—a perfect beginning to the meal. For the main course, the lamb chops were outstanding—perfectly cooked and deeply satisfying. Finished the dinner with a delicious strawberry pavlova - highly recommended. The restaurant has an excellent wine list, with options that pair beautifully with the food. The staff were knowledgeable and welcoming, and they helped me a lot in choosing from the menu as a first-time customer. I’ll definitely be back soon!

It opened in 2018 and is housed in a 1950's industrial building which used to be home to the largest commercial laundry in North London. It now boasts a beautiful 60 cover dining room, which opens onto an open 20 cover cobbled courtyard with olive trees as well as an intimate private dining room.
