The Gulch
About the restaurant
Detroit-style pizzas and big, messy burgers are the signatures of Emmy Squared, a popular Brooklyn-based restaurant with two locations in Nashville. The Gulch venue was the first in the city, and an immediate hit with locals upon its 2018 opening. Those signature pizzas and burgers, including the best burger in Nashville according to The Tennessean (“Le Big Matt”), make up most of the lunch and dinner menus. However, the small plates, including some of the best wings in Nashville, are just as tempting. The wings feature a sriracha glaze, garnish of peanuts and cilantro and side of ranch, and are offered on both the dinner and weekday lunch menus.

Was visiting from out of state. Went here on recommendation from a friend that lives near Nashville. Was walkable from the Grand Hyatt hotel. Pizza was delicious as was the Caesar salad. Nice atmosphere for visiting and dining. Hope to come back and try the burgers.

The Gulch
About the restaurant
Adele’s, a Gulch neighborhood restaurant helmed by chef-owner Jonathan Waxman (and named for his mother) is an exceedingly charming space. It offers indoor and outdoor seating, retractable doors left open when it’s sunny, and an open kitchen with a chef’s counter. Here, diners can see the action around the wood-fired oven, from which emerge dishes focusing on seasonal, local ingredients of the highest quality. The dinner (daily), lunch (Fridays and Saturdays) and Sunday buffet brunch menus change frequently. However, a shared plate of excellent chicken wings with a garlic thyme sauce often features on the lunch menu. Main courses might include include a croque madame, N.C. crispy catfish with vinegar chips and remoulade, and gnocchi with a turnip puree, squash, sorghum and sage.

About the restaurant
The Farm House in the heart of downtown Nashville is the brainchild of chef-owner Trey Cioccia, a Nashville native. Cioccia’s concept is dedicated to 100-percent from-scratch cooking showcasing seasonal, locally sourced ingredients, many from his own kitchen garden. Note that the Farm House is one of only a handful of restaurants nationwide to source its bar ingredients, including spirits and brews, exclusively from the United States. The Farm House menus change frequently, but diners seeking the best wings in Nashville should visit for Sunday brunch. A dish often featured among the “for the table” offerings at brunch is hickory smoked wings prepared in five fats, seasoned with vinegar and Alabama white sauce.

From the time we entered the Farmhouse…it was so warm and welcoming. Greeted with a smile and much warmth. Sat at the bar for Happy hour with Trent (bartender) and he was wonderful!! Local knowledge and a few good stories. This is a block off broadway and has a wonderful atmosphere. Must visit. Our next trip will definitely include the Farmhouse

About the restaurant
On the first floor of the Renaissance Hotel is Little Fib, a cool and casual southern-inspired eatery that’s open daily for breakfast, lunch and dinner. It occupies a modern space with industrial chic accents and a memorable wall-to-wall mural of Johnny Cash portraits. Modernized southern classics define the menu. Exemplary dishes include deviled eggs with Tennessee grass-fed bacon jam and pickled mustard, pimento cheese drop biscuits with cherry bourbon chutney, and two versions of “Ma, the Meatloaf.” Don’t miss the smoked wings, which feature under “small bites” on both lunch and dinner menus. They’re tea brined and glazed with a bourbon honey sauce.

I planned this as our one fancy night to dine for my Bachelorette party. Reason I booked was the variety, price and ambiance. I didn't want to go somewhere that was $50+ a plate and still wanted a "fancy" experience. Did not disappoint!! Service was a little slow for how slow the place was. I didn't mind one bit because it gave a chance to talk as a group (10 of us) and actually hear each other when we were on the go the rest of the trip. Everyone LOVED their choices for dinner. My Mocktail (I'm preggo) was the best one I had all weekend! Not easy to find in Nashville.

The staff is amazing. Booked a table for 12 for lunch - the hostess was on top of it. Our waiter was promptly asking for drink orders with each new arrival. He circled back to our table for lunch order + food arrived shortly afterwards. Our entire group thought the food was great + the service exceptional (I’m an east coaster, aka a ball buster). We enjoyed the 1.5 hour lunch - no rush, perfectly paced. Thank you - we’ll be back soon😍

About the restaurant
Merchants, a Nashville institution since 1988, presents two distinct dining experiences in its three-story, circa-1892 venue. Downstairs is a southern bistro offering cocktails and comfort food, while the second floor has an upscale dining room with a formal atmosphere and its own separate, steak-centric menu. Those craving some excellent chicken wings should grab a table at the bistro, where BBQ-rubbed smoked wings with Buffalo, blue cheese and BBQ sauces feature among the starters. Also consider the duck fat tater tots, available in half and full orders with spicy ranch, Creole honey mustard and smoked ketchup. Mains include rotisserie chicken, jambalaya, several steaks and various burgers and sandwiches.

My girlfriend and I first experienced Merchants 4 months ago when we visited Nashville. With it behind downtown and close to the action, we kind of stumbled on it because we were looking for a restaurant that offered gluten free options. The atmosphere was excellent, the service was great and food was amazing!!! We ended up eating there twice during the visit. Fast Forward a few months and we decided to visit Nashville once again and celebrate New Year’s in Nashville. Of course we needed to add Merchants as a definite stop. We stopped in for lunch and once again did not disappoint. On New Year’s Eve, we had lunch and ran into a familiar face in MICHELLE (she had served us months ago). Her pleasant personality and amazing food made lunch wonderful and it was because of her that we cancelled a reservation at another restaurant and give UPSTAIRS Merchants a try. During that lunch, the GM (Jimmy) came along to see how things were going and we discussed our pleasant experience with Merchants and said how thankful we were that gluten free options were readily available. We jokingly discussed how awesome it would be if the crab cakes were gluten free. We finished lunch and we’re very much looking forward to dinner upstairs the following day. We arrive upstairs and the atmosphere upstairs is amazing. We were welcomed by our server Cassidy and once again were thrilled with her service. After placing our order, she surprised us with GLUTEN FREE Crab cakes!!! Amazingly, after our discussion the day before, Jimmy made it happen and we were absolutely blown away by this because we certainly did not expect that. That was an amazing start to another wonderful experience at Merchants. I apologize for the lengthy review, but with so many amazing experiences at Merchants, I wanted to ensure that I captured it all. If given the option, I would rank Merchants 6 ⭐️’s out of 5!!!

Lunch, dinner and late-night menus all feature a chicken wing appetizer. The wings come in a choice of naked, Buffalo or kung POW! with celery and ranch on the side. Today, the group runs six restaurants across the state, including one in historic downtown Franklin. Its nostalgic cuisine includes southern classics, slow-smoked BBQ and meat-and-three specials. About the restaurant
Ole Red coined the term “swanky tonk” to describe its concept – elevated comfort food in a setting that’s cool, casual and welcoming to all, plus remarkable live music on stage, often by surprise celebrity guests. The venue also has a celebrity name as a business partner, the world-famous country artist Blake Shelton. The music and vibe are a major draw, but Ole Red also offers some seriously good cuisine with a focus on southern comfort food classics. Among the starters are smoked wings with house hot sauce, jalapenos, celery and blue cheese ranch. Others include the southern tater tot poutine, honey-drizzled skillet cornbread, and redneck nachos, which are kettle chips piled high with smoked chicken, Rotel cheese sauce and more.

Ole Red doesn’t take Opentable reservations. Don’t be fooled by booking. It’s won’t get you in any faster. They don’t open till 11am but the Opentable reservations are from 10-1045 and it auto checks you in. Something isn’t set up correctly with the software. Food just ok, entertainment and ambiance great. Bloody Mary same you get on an airplane they can do better and they know it. It’s a cool spot but you don’t come here for the food. Band was incredible the day we were there.

About the restaurant
Southern comfort food and great live music by local performers characterize Puckett’s, a restaurant group with roots Tennessee dating to the 1950s. Its menus are appropriately old-school, created around slow-smoked BBQ meats. Meat-and-three plate lunch specials are a signature. They come with a choice of more than a dozen side dishes including skillet mac n’ cheese, flat iron green beans and smoked baked beans. Another highlight – cherry smoked hot wings in hot, mild or BBQ sauce – are available as a starter on the dinner menu only. Regulars say they’re some of the best wings in Nashville.
