Food, service, ambiance were great! We got seated on the patio that is fully enclosed with plenty of heaters. It was such a great vibe and toasty. Perfect for date night or hanging with some friends. Portions were a nice size we were able to try a good amount off the menu.

El Catrin aced it again. The drinks and food was great as always. The server was very helpful and offered great advice on the food portions and what would be ideal for us to order.

No alleyway has exuded more charm than the one at Lapinou, with its string lights, lanterns, and padded wrought-iron seats. The French néo-bistro — a term for trendy Parisian wine bars — has reached Toronto here; the menu pulls in global influences in dishes such as beef tartare with Dijon, shallot, celery, egg yolk, and grilled sourdough, or lamb garganelli with preserved lemon, nicoise olive, and jalapeno.

We always have a great time at Lapinou! Fantastic French wine, and great shareables. We were a group of 4 and we shared the caesar salad, brussel sprouts, short rib wellington and frites. Everything was delicious, and especially the brussel sprouts! Our server was great, and we loved the intimate atmosphere.

Celebrity chef Susur Lee leads the kitchen at Lee, a renowned Chinese-French restaurant on King Street West. This is Lee’s flagship, with a menu that showcases Chinese flavors with French technique in dishes such as wild Alaskan caramelized black cod with miso mustard, Asian slow-braised beef with horseradish sour cream, and crispy tofu with a mushroom and pepper compote. Lush foliage, an awning, and wrought iron fence lend the sidewalk seating a serene botanical vibe.

Beer Garden

About the restaurant

If it weren’t for the up-close sight of a Toronto landmark, you’d think you were in Munich at Steam Whistle Biergärten. The German-style beer hall at the base of the CN Tower serves up traditional German fare — think pretzels and schnitzel — alongside its own beer. Outdoor seating has an expansive view of the skyline beyond the string lights and umbrellas for shade.

We had a nice quiet catch-up with friends. The beer supply is limited, as expected, but was nice and cold. Not sure why they didn't have Beau's Lug Tread in tap, only the light, which was very good. We had a pretzel, excellent; hummus, very good. I had a burger as my main and it was just okay - I found the meat very salty and too much bun. The fries were good. Overall it was a wonderful evening to get caught up. The place is a little out of the way, especially having to walk in the brisk cold air.

Korean
Ossington
About the restaurant

Té blends traditional Korean fare with Canadian comfort foods in modern dishes hardly seen anywhere else. Pizza tteokbokki (Korean rice dough balls with sweet chile tomato sauce and oven-baked mozzarella), toasted kimchi ravioli with honey wasabi pesto, and soy-braised braised brisket poutine are just some of the creative offerings. The petite backyard patio is surrounded by trees and lit by string lights for a homey feel.

Te is simply amazing. When you walk through the door you're greeted with a pleasant aroma of Korean-Fusion cuisine. Every item on the menu has creative culinary thought behind it. Additionally the dishes come in at a very good price point. I highly recommend trying the Lettuce Wraps with Bulgogi and the 5 Spice Chicken both dishes are very unique and tastefully presented. Atmosphere is lively and overall this spot is a hidden gem will come back!

Leslieville / Riverdale
About the restaurant

This hotel standout offers a seldomly seen perspective of the Toronto skyline and the Don River from its south-facing patio. Perched on the highest floor of a beautifully-restored 19th-century building, the Rooftop’s glass-enclosed indoor dining area, backing the L-shaped patio, makes an eye-catching contrast to the building’s original brick exterior. The urban tableau, pretty cocktails, and shareable menu, featuring plates such as cheesesteak and barbacoa baos, attract a buzzy crowd.
