About the restaurant
Basho is a Japanese word that is roughly translated as "location" or "a space where activities occur". It could be a family gathering, socializing with friends, or a business event; moreover, it could be the setting for an unforgettable experience. We call this setting "Basho".

Basho is a contemporary Izakaya brasserie where dishes are prepared in two separate areas: the principal kitchen and the sushi bar. Rather than offering individual starters and main courses, Basho serves dishes that are designed for sharing and are brought to the table steadily and continuously throughout the meal.

Your server will be happy to assist you in choosing dishes, such as our Spicy Tuna on Crispy Rice Appetizer, which is highly popular or our specially crafted 1338 Signature Roll. We are also conveniently located within the heart of Fenway. If you're ever in the area for a Red Sox's game, stop by! We are only a 2 minute walk from Fenway Park!

Giulia's is a special place, though it not be reserved just for special occasions. Making a reservation is inconvenient -- 12:01 a.m. 2-weeks before you meal. That said, interestingly, there were a few walk-in seats when we were there (on a Monday) -- at the bar (generally in pairs) and at the Club Table (called the Pasta Table). Our server was extraordinary -- ever-smiling, cheerful, experienced, knowledgeable, attentive without being overbearing, thoughtful, ready with recommendations when asked. The manager/credentialed sommelier was also helpful, cheerful, ready with suggestions when asked, and non-judgmental (some som's struggle with that aspect). Recommended without reservation, but don't look for it to be inexpensive

Nino Trotta — who owns Forcella alongside his girlfriend, general manager and co-owner Shannon MacGowan, and his brother, wine director Christian Trotta — say that the cozy, candlelit vibe of the restaurant sets Forcella apart in a sea of massive North End restaurants.
“It’s tiny, 30 seats,” he said. “It’s perfect for a date.”
The kitchen team has designed a menu that includes dishes from all over Italy, with a slight lean toward Naples, where the Trotta family is from. Primi dishes include meatballs, crispy quail, while pastas range from linguine alle vongole and risotto to gnocchi with braised rabbit. Salmon, ribeye, round out the menu.

I dined solo, and was seated at a small table upstairs. The restaurant was not crowded at this time (6:15). I enjoyed the Mescalita cocktail, quite good. The grilled shrimp tacos were very tasty, they were a bit messy to eat. They were very small, so a serving of three tacos was not enough as a main course. Overall, the service was quite good, just not sure how to order main courses.

What a great experience overall! The photos don't do justice for this place. The menu is so versatile and there is something for everyone's taste. It was a bit noisy when we first got there but that's only because people seem to really enjoy their time (we spent over 3 hours there up until closing and didn't want to leave haha). The servers were the BEST, so respectful and dont come up to you unnecessary every 15 minutes but rather only when they see you are ready to order dessert etc. The drinks were fabuloous, ambience is welcoming. For a second, you forget that you are in New York because of how wide and open the place feels (usually restaurants in NYC are cramped and tiny). Honestly, 10/10 and will definitely be back.

Le Rivage is the perfect place to have dinner before theater. We were seated immediately by the gracious host in the main dining area. Nice artwork on the walls. Tables spaced nicely so that diners arent on top of one another. Knowledgeable efficient waiter. Great Sazerac drink to start then escargots followed by trout special accompanied with a glass of sencerre. Delicious poached pear for dessert. We were finished in plenty of time for a short walk to our 7:00 show but never felt rushed. Great dinner!

About the restaurant
Please Join Us...Our task, which we take great pleasure in, is to transport you...leave your inhibitions at the door, embrace a little dose of erotic abandon, let go and let us do the rest.

Macao Trading Company takes its inspiration from the brothels and opium dens of old 1930s Macao...an exotic time-out-of-time place...mysterious, adventurous, decadent.

Whether an intimate dinner, large party, or late night dining, take advantage of our signature Eurasian cuisine: a sumptuous blend of Chinese and Portuguese influences.

About the restaurant
Hi-Life Bar & Grill is one of the Upper West side’s most popular and longstanding neighborhood restaurants (est. 1991). Hi-Life's 1930's decor is the backdrop for bar & grill classics like flame-grilled steaks and hamburgers, broiled and seared fresh fish specials, bountiful "Big Bowls" of pasta and entree salads, and last but not least a Sushi/Raw bar. (Hi-Life was the first NYC restaurant to install a traditional sushi bar in a non-Japanese restaurant setting in 1993. Expertly prepared sushi & sashimi at Hi-Life is a natural extension of the classic Raw Bar one might expect in our 1930's environment.)

Hi-Life also serves a "traditional Westside" brunch that features fresh squeezed juices, complimentary blueberry muffins & cinnamon toast as well as a 4.95 brunch cocktail deal.

In the warmer months Hi-Life outdoor seating includes 26 seats along Amsterdam Ave and another 16 seats on our 83rd St side.

About the restaurant
Orient Express Cocktail Bar in West Village.
The Orient Express may have inspired iconic novels and films like From Russia with Love, served as the setting for bravado characters like James Bond, and been featured as the backdrop of Agatha Christie's most famous works, but the famed vintage train continues to ride through modern culture with its latest stop in NYC's West Village,
where Turks and Frogs owner Osman Cakir has re-conceptualized its famous voyages into a posh, time-reversing cocktail bar with a flair for the spirits of yesteryear.

Its look reflects the nostalgia of train travel: Amid the sexy amber glow, warm vintage-tinted beech wood panels, faux windows and bronzed luggage racks, the bar—a handcrafted Caesar Stone beauty—is the clear focal point. Above it, the ceiling curves
to each side, and behind, bartenders bedecked in old-school vests and neckties shake and
pour cocktails.
