Livingston Restaurant + Bar
The service was wonderful. Food was great. Eduardo was fabulous!
Even though the pre-show brunch was not crowded, the table service was slow. The waiter was very polite and eventually brought the water and coffee. The buffet food tasted good, but was only lukewarm.
Service was much better than last visit. Love the selection. Pre theatre brunch is a winner!
Great beginning to a wonderful day at. The theatre!
Food was marvelous!
We enjoyed a girls birthday lunch at Livingstons. The service and food was just great!
The food was amazing - except the muscles weren’t the best. But my braised beef short rib meal was amazing! Could’ve used just a few more Brussel sprouts though. However I would suggest sitting away from the windows when it’s cold out.
We had a nice birthday dinner before attending a show across the street at the Fox. Service was excellent, food was very good and good atmosphere. Only issue we had was it was cold, they weren’t ready for quick temperature change and dost have on the heat.
Very unique selection of food!
I’m sad to leave this review because the food is absolutely amazing and deserves over 5 stars. However, the service that we received was mind blowing, and NOT in a good way. My husband and I come to The Livingston every anniversary because this is where we went to dinner the night that he proposed. He have never had anything but an amazing experience, but tonight our waitress, Abby, was one of the worst servers that we have experienced anywhere. Honestly , the fact that this is not a cheap restaurant makes that even more unacceptable.
We arrived at 6:30pm for our reservation and the restaurant was fairly empty. After waiting a few minutes a woman came by to fill up our water. She did not say a single word to us and never introduced herself. We said “thank you“ and she walked away after not speaking and not making any eye contact. She came back a few minutes later and asked for our drink orders. At that point I asked if she was our waitress, because again, she never introduced herself or said anything to make it known she was our waitress. The rest of the night continued the same. No smile, she never asked if we needed any assistance with the menu, never welcomed us to the restaurant or asked if we have been there before, did not ask if we were there celebrating anything, and did not show any sign that she cared to be there. Because of this we felt VERY unwelcome, and to feel that way at our anniversary dinner was not okay. I am leaving 3 stars because again, the food is absolutely incredible. And if we do come back, it will only be for that reason. Please re-train Abby on how to interact with guests because she could have easily ruined our anniversary, but instead we chose to chalk it up to possibly a bad night. Which is still no excise for the lack of service we received. This truly is an amazing restaurant and should not be brought down by employees who don’t care.
Service seemed understaffed and hard to get a beverage or check
We love coming to the Livingston prior to seeing a show at the Fox. There was a group of us who had 11:00 am reservations who were asked to stand outside the doors until breakfast was cleared away. Perfectly understandable except the associates at the front desk were very unfriendly. There was no "Good Morning", just someone sticking there head outside the door with "Do you all have reservations." It felt very elitist and condescending rather than warm and welcoming. The rest of the experience was fine. The food was good and our server was friendly. Please work on that initial greeting.
Note: Livingston no longer homes the 3 hour free valet if you dine there. They have a sign posted at the hostess desk but nothing else. If you plan on having a meal before the show and park at the hotel it is $45.00.
As far as the meal went—it was average. The service was non-existent! The first waiter said our coffee and tea was included and when we got the bill it was charged. Not a big deal—but don’t say one thing and do another.
We had to flag someone down to take our plates. I had to flag someone down for more hot water for my tea. I had to flag someone down to get the bill, twice and then another flag to run our cards! This is a buffet so not sure why everything was such a problem!
The cost of the buffet was $30 and it wasn’t anything special. I’ve had much better with shrimp cocktail, crab legs and prime rib for the cost. This buffet had eggs, sausage, bacon, salmon, fried chicken and pancakes. There was a basic salad and some desserts.
This will be our last time dining here for any reason and with more options all around the Fox it’s time to try somewhere new!
We always enjoy The Livingston before attending a show at the Fox, however, we were very disappointed in the wine list this time. Not sure if they have changed it but I'm guessing they have since we've never had issues before. Very poor selection of wines.
We enjoyed the brunch buffet before attending Wicked at The Fox Theatre. The variety of food was perfect. We enjoyed all of the things we ate. The service was excellent.
The food would have been absolutely delicious if it had been warmer. Unfortunately a lot of times in a buffet it’s hard to keep food really warm. The service was very good And the grits were fantastic! I will return!
It was a nice treat to eat the pre-theater buffet. The entire experience was great. I would have liked to known in advance that we could not have ordered off the menu when the buffet is offered. Only because one of the ladies in our group is gluten free and has some food allergies and did not realize the buffet would be her only option.
Pre-theatre dinner before attending a performance at the Fox Theatre across the street. We arrived early in advance of our reservation and were seated promptly! The service was excellent. We were not seated two minutes before the server approached the table to greet us. He was also training a new server and mentioned that right away. There is no doubt if she follows his lead she will be a stellar server just as he is (sorry I don’t recall their names but that has to be attributed to my poor memory with names and nothing at ALL to do with their service). Our meal order was promptly taken, prepared and served in a timely manner. The server recommended the perfect wine pairing for our meal selection. The food was divine and the plated presentation was nothing short of beautiful! I will definitely return to Livingston’s again. In fact this was at least my fourth visit. I had the veal rib chop and my friend had the trout. Delicious!!!! In the interest of time we had looked at the menu online in advance of our reservation so we were able to place our order as soon as the servers approached our table. It was not long before the restaurant was filled with pre-theater dinners so early reservations is recommended or there could be a little wait for a table.
Best service I’ve ever had in a restaurant. We’re looking forward to our next visit soon,
We were hotel guests and had reservations for a party of 6. We were seated at a table for 8 and asked to leave the 2 seats at one end of the table available for another party (of 2). There were other tables available for parties of 6 that were empty at that time so I'm wondering if we were seated at this less desirable table because we had children with us. We were taking my grandchildren (one 6 and one 9) to the theater after dinner. As for the food, everyone seemed to enjoy their meals, however I had the braised shortrib and it was very fatty. Brussels sprouts were very hard. I would revisit the restaurant but would choose something else. They did have a good selection on their children's menu.
Pre theater dinner. Food and wine came fast and both service and food were excellent.
Very limited menu.
Pre Theater dinner seemed rushed. Food was delicious but wasn't hot. Service was awesome though.
We had lunch before a FOX Performance. Ambiance and food is always outstanding.
Brunch before going to the Fox for Wicked! Delightful day!
I saw many negative reviews so wasn't expecting much..but I was pleasantly surprised with an excellent meal and service.
Nobody ever brought us bread before our meal. We had appetizers but they didn’t bring small plates until we asked. The servers seemed bothered by questions. The food was good, but overall, for the price, it just wasn’t worth it. Also we specified with our open table reservation that it was a special occasion. They didn’t acknowledge it like most places do.
The steak was the best I’ve had in a long time. Very good staff.
Although there is a limited menu at Livingston’s, the choices are good for a before theatre light meal by choosing from their Bites options. If you prefer a fuller meal, their entrees give a choice of meats, seafood and vegetarian. I highly recommend their mussels, shrimp, and broccoli/cauliflower from the Bites list as well as the salads. Service is impeccable and prices are reasonable. Romantic atmosphere but also great ambience when with a friend.
It was a wonderful beginning to the evening. I will always make this the dinner stop before a show at the Fox. I love this place!
great ambiance, especially before a show across the street at the Fox. But, the restaurant was only 1/2 full, service was extremely show. I had made a note on my reservation that it was a birthday celebration, yet the restaurant paid no attention to that and was unprepared to do a candle-lit dessert.
I took some business clients to Livingston Restaurant for a Pre-Theater Dinner and we had a wonderful time. Everything was wonderful, the service was excellent. I would have preferred a table that was not right at the door, since I had made reservations over a month prior, but was told that was their only seating for 6. It was a bit noisy to hold a business discussion, but it did not take away from the wonderful experience. I would definitely recommend eating here before any Fox event!
Our service was poor. We probably waited 10-15 minutes to get our drinks and then again to get our checks. No beverages were refilled. It was a buffet. The food was average and should have been better for the price. The upside was it was right across the street from the Fox Theater.
Before a show at the fox the convenience can’t be beat! However we weren’t greeted at our table after 10 min of waiting. We approached a server. It was a buffet but no drink orders or anything were offered. Out of convenience for the fox theatre I would only go back for a show and not expect great service.
It was great! Food came out quickly and the wait staff was incredible!
We had drinks at the bar before dinner and Chris did a great job taking care of us and provided great service.
The dinner was great and Eduardo who has waited on us before did a truly exceptional job, making great recommendations and excellent service.
Before we left PJ, the Floor Manager came over to our table to make sure that we had a great experience, which we did!!!
We've enjoyed Livingston's several time. Beautiful restaurant and great ambiance. Service is outstanding!
Excellent food and customer service. Drinks were also very well done. Perfect spot for prior to going to the Fox Theater.
Great ambiance, service and food. The Livingston has great character. Highly recommend for date night.
We were there after an event at the Fox, right across the street. The restaurant wasn't super busy - tables were full, but it wasn't out of hand. There was a single server, and its not her fault, but as a result, the service was very poor. She was clearly overwhelmed and was not at all friendly. Service was exceptionally slow and though much of the food was alright (some of it was cold by the time we got it), the steak was absolutely awful. You could taste the gas from the grill. It was a bit burned, though we had asked for it to be Medium. It also came out about 10 minutes after the rest of the food. I'm pretty sure there was only I cook in the kitchen, but I can't say for sure. Drinks were good, scallops were awesome. Its a shame management didn't seem to prepare properly for what should have been an expected (and manageable) number of people. I don't plan on returning giving the prices vs the service.
Great place when going to The Fox.
