The Tavern is not what is once was! I’ll likely never go back. Took over an hour and a half to get 2 burgers and a salmon. Had to flag the hostess just to get more water after hour 1. Drinks also sat empty for some time before some finally asked if we needed another round. I’d find another place unless you desperate and have lots of time..

we waited for 35 minutes to get our drinks and only got them when i went to the bartender and server who reported that she had not even ordered them. the bottomless was a complete failure as no refill ever came. the food was adequate except for one diner who first got the wrong food and then when it came it had hair in in. I asked to speak to a manager and was not given that opportunity. I asked for a reduction in the bill and that was rejected. the server was also very unfriendly and never once apologized for the delays. it was embarrassing as i had chosen the restaurant for a celebration.

The staff was very caring about my allergies to shrimp and made certain all my food was safe for me. The meatloaf and mashed potatoes were AMAZING!! I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone even close to the area.

The location is nice and it has indoor and outdoor seating. Inside it looks like a typical bar with seating for dining. The music inside is really loud and it is hard to hold a normal conversation. The food was just ok but portions were small for the price. Salmon was good but they were out of broccolini. The steak was not cooked to order—it was ordered medium well and it came rare. Service was good and the server was nice.

We were served tepid water when we arrived which was really weird. Seated at the internal/right room, the ambiance was unappealing. The mixed grill was very pricey for such tiny portions. For what we had, it wasn’t good value at all. Waited for about an hour for food to be served.

The restaurant is under new ownership. The restaurant changed its menu, which is more limited than the previous menu. I was disappointed with the limited new menu, which had fewer food choices. Also, the old more expansive menu was still on the restaurant's website. Accordingly, I was not pleased that the meal that I wanted to order, based on what I read on the menu prior to arriving at the restaurant, was not on the new menu. I eventually ordered the salmon, which was delicious. I also ordered the broccolini. Although delicious, it arrived luke warm. And I am not sure that I like my meal served on a wood plank. Then, the bar ran out of one of its signature drinks. This is a nice restaurant and I have been a patron for years. I hope the new owners of the restaurant gets itself together -- fast.

It was mostly a good experience, although we had to send back the glass of coke we had twice as it was completely flat, we could see it being poured from a large plastic bottle behind the bar, and then eventually told that’s just how soda is sometimes. We decided to send that back and just have water. The food was really good, apart from the fries, which were cold, dry, hot and greasy all at the same time. Service seemed a little rushed but the interior was nice. There is a bigger menu on their website than was available.

The only negative comment had to do with the specials offering. Brussel sprouts was offered as one of two appetisers but was also the vegetable in the lamb entree. The other appetizer was soup which is hot for the summer. I wanted the lamb entree but asked if they could swap with a different vegetable. Unfortunately the request was denied. It also took a while for the good to arrive.

The experience was a little disappointing from the beginning as we were expecting to do happy hour. Unfortunately happy hour only happens at the bar (it didn’t say anything about that on the online menu or open table listing.) We had to change what we were wanting to eat. It ended up ok. Our server was very nice. Naturally they were out of the two beers my dad wanted (they were on the beer list, just out of stock.) My southern fried chicken was a little dry, but the gravy helped. The kids didn’t care for the Mac and cheese but loved the burger. The decor was very nice and I loved the ambiance of the restaurant.

Being able to hear each other as we dine means a lot to me. So I appreciated this here. Also the service was terrific. The food was ok. Got the Crabcake Benedict and was disappointed, especially considering the price. Home fries were almost warm? One got the Garden Benedict and that faired better, but the homefries also on the cool side. Coffee was good. Might come again for lunch or dinner to see if that is a better food time.

very average...food was fine...the gravy on the fried chicken made the breading soggy...the food took very long to come out (over an hour). tried to order happy hour items from the menu that on the table but said we couldn't order those foods because we weren't sitting at the bar (not get those prices--couldn't order the foods on that menu--same kitchen). the korean wings were very good--probably the best item we ordered. The french fries were all small pieces like we got the leftovers after all the normal ones were dished out to other tables. steak was overcooked (med well vs. ordered medium); the burger was undercooked (medium vs. ordered medium well) which makes me wonder if the server got the orders backwards--or the kitchen did. They did bring a dessert to the niece for her birthday which helped the evening end on a nice note.

Food was not particularly noteworthy. We had 4 dinners: Peruvian Chicken, Crab Cakes, Steak, and Sea Bass (Bronzino). The chicken was okay, crab cake tasted like mush, and Bronzino looked like it was deep fried alive and not particularly pleased. I haven't seen it served like that...it was actually amusing. The fish tasted fine, but the vegetables and rice served with it were not very good. Bottom line, the quality was not terrible but I would not recommend.

This was the second time in a row the kitchen got my order wrong - first time I kept quiet and went on but two times in a row I thought I’d went above and beyond - waitress was excellent and when I told her if it was going to take more than 5-10 minutes just bill me for my drink and let’s call it even - she said she had to ask kitchen staff - when she came back with my food everyone else in my party was finished - definitely more than 5-10 minutes - I had to leave due to an emergency and they boxed it up - I’d rather have not paid and not gotten the food which I got to eat about 5 hours later when a fresh meal would have been much more satisfying- I won’t be back

I have been going to, and enjoying, Logan Tavern for a very long time. It has always been a welcome addition to P Street NW. Unfortunately, recent visits have been marked with unsatisfactory service. However, on the most recent visit, changes clearly had been made and for the better. The staff was much more friendly and seemed to care about our experience. Please keep up the good work!

We went to dinner here while we were in town on vacation because it had good reviews on line. However, that was NOT our experience. The fried chicken I ordered tasted like it was leftover from the day before and had been reheated and had a bowl of salt dumped on it. The server brought us water when we first ordered but never came to check on us or refill our glasses. We had to ask after we sat for our whole meal with empty glasses. We will not be back and made sure to let local family know not to eat here.

This place use to be awesome. Great service and amazing food. But it has gone way down hill in the past year. Food is cold. Poorly prepared. The stale sandwich I got literally was gray and looked like dog food. I had to send it back.
