Warm and inviting, Luma’s dining room and bar are designed with rich woods, leather and stone, and the cozy lounge is filled with plush sofas and eye-catching artwork. Luma’s second floor location in the TIFF Bell Lightbox and its floor-to-ceiling windows offer outstanding views of King Street West and the downtown action.

Hidden away on the second floor of the Tiff Building, the restaurant was new to us. Very handily located for theatre land. Our server, Meaghan, was charming and guided us through the menu while we sipped Negroni specials. The food was cooked to perfection and beautifully presented. All in all a great evening. Happy to recommend Luma to others.
The views of bustling King St and CN Tower were a treat. Our servers were very friendly and attentive. Every single bite of the seared tuna was heavenly as was the charred cauliflower, and the presentation was a feast for the eyes! If we lived in Toronto, we'd have to visit often!
I was at the restaurant and checked in. Open table sent me an email saying I wasn’t there which was an error. I have my receipt to prove it.
Service was excellent, location and ambience were very nice, but hubby did not enjoy his meal...the lamb shank did not have alot of flavour.
Always a great combination of tastes and textures in the food here. Vegetables never just confined to small, predictable supporting roles. Steelhead trout was moist and flavourful, with lots of textural contrast on the plate. Portion size left room for a delicious lemon dessert.
Excellent, attentive, and sociable servers
Wonderful food and presentation.
The cocktails food was excellent. Our server Kevin was amazing and took great care of us all evening.
Booked a table for our group of 6 last minute and we weren't disappointed. The food and drink were delicious and the setting very comfortable. Service was friendly but a tad slow even though the restaurant wasn't crowded. Still, I would definitely go back and recommend LUMA to anyone looking for fine dining in a relaxed, friendly environment.
The lady at the door make a mess with my reservation. 30 min to be seated. It is an expensive restaurant for the food they serve. Ambiance is ok. Manager apologize for the confusion at the entrance.
LUMA REVIEW for dinner on Saturday July 21, 2018. POOR *
Luma was terrible! I’ve been several times in the past and it has always been wonderful.
So disappointing. The food was lovely, but the timing for serving was unacceptable.
It was my husband’s birthday and we arrived early for our 6:30 reservation and spoke with our server that we were going to MIRVISH Theatre across the street for a 8 pm show. She assured us that it would be no problem at all. It was Summerliscious and we ordered right away. Our entrée did NOT arrive until more than an HOUR later – 7: 40 ! We had to gobble it down in 10 minutes ….cancelled our dessert and ran to the theatre. We didn’t even have time to go to the bathroom as we just made it with one minute before curtain time.
We had planned on having dessert with a birthday candle in it…but couldn’t do it because of the slow service.
The restaurant was not full, so there was no excuse for this horrible service. Our bill was adjusted nicely to apologize for this inconvenience…but we would rather have enjoyed my husband’s birthday dinner without this drama.
Hence why I have given LUMA such a poor review on Open Table.
The restaurant had a party of about 10-15 people, who had children that were coming over to our table and acting out of control. (Running into the cushions, tapping on the window, kicking my handbag, etc.). The manager came over and said "we had to accommodate for all guests", after I had kindly told the server about my issue.
The server dropped utensils near the end of our dinner, which shatters one of the glasses. This dinner would've been a great experience, but there are some service issues that need to be corrected.
Very slow service, hair in my food, small portions, lacking flavour.
Good. Would try it again
A bunch of girls went for Summerlicious lunch. The service was spotty. The wait between being seated and taking our orders was a loooong time. There were a few tables occupied at the time of our reservation (1:45). Our meals were served faster than our order was taken and were delicious. The salmon, hake and chicken thighs were presented beautifully and perfectly portioned for our appetites. The chocolate panna cotta was good, but way too sweet, especially with the Skor crumbles on top. The strawberry shortcakes x 2 were good. We were the only ones there by the time we finished our meal.
Fine, no complaints
I went to Luna with a group of coworkers for Summerlicious. We were seated on the patio which was loud given the busy intersection. The server was extremely slow in taking our order. The food took a long time to be served. During the wait for food our server neglected to refill drinks; given that it was lunch time on a sunny day it was a poor move. The food was great which definitely improved our spirits.
The food was delicious, service was great, we just wish the portion sizes were more generous.
The staff was amazing!
The food was delicious
Definitly made my birthday day a great one
Thank you luma !!
We did Luma a few years ago for Winterlicious and loved it and had the same experience this time. The food and service were excellent and it was nice and quiet.
Our 30th wedding anniversary.
The food was artistically presented by friendly ,courteous staff.
The open concept space was enhanced by appropriate table distances that made conversation private and easy.
All of our courses reflected careful preparation and were delicious.
The glass window wall gave us access to the busy street scape of the urban life going on outside- providing visual variety to our dining experience.
Very enjoyable experience.
It was summerlicious so they should know people only have limited times for lunch. Place was empty but still food took forever to be served. We ended up spending 2.5 hours for lunch!!! Had to cancel my afternoon meeting and had to take dessert to-go. Food was good and place was nice, but the slowness in service makes this a no-go for me for work lunches. I can just imagine how much worse this would be for theatre-goers!
Waiter was friendly and efficient. We sat on the patio and ordered the summerlicious meal and we were pleasantly surprised, as the entree was a proper entree and not just a tasting. Delicious fries!
We were disappointed in the grilled sardines. We needed to remind the server about dessert. We have dined at Luma many times, but this time it was just okay, rather than spectacular.
Service was exceptionally slow, some of the food was good, but mostly just OK. Nice environment but I would not recommend it especially for a special ocassion. Go for a drink.
We dined on the patio and everything was wonderful. Service was excellent and attentive....until after they cleared the main. We waited and waited for our dessert to come out and no one even came by our table. Finally flagged our delightful server through the window and eventually the dessert arrived, at which point we just wolfed it down as we needed to get to the theatre and were running late now. I had put that info in the reservation and had planned more than adequate time ....and our server asked about time commitments when we got there, but in the end, a beautiful meal was rushed so as not to be late. Other than that....very happy with the experience
We don’t like them hanging onto our wine to decide when/if they should top us up! Plenary of room on the table for us to help ourselves.
Would have liked a couple summerliscious choices for an appetizer that aren’t salad or seafood.
Everything we did have though, was excellent.
We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner before the theatre production.
The summerlicious lunch menu is very good, the desert is amazing.
It was great! The service was good, the food was good. It was a bit noisy for me. I like to be able to have comfortable conversations and I was not able to hear well. But perhaps a less busy time of day would solve that problem.
Hake was very dry, tasteless and bland, very disappointing!
Tuna poke was delicious. Portions are very small. Waiter was very kind and helpful.
A fabulous restaurant, the food was incredible. The wait staff were friendly, accommodating and made our anniversary extra special with an incredible desert board. Service over and above what you normally see. The Luma lounge “Magic Hour” for pre dinner drinks is a must. Recommend Luma to anyone visiting the entertainment district in Toronto.
Food was fantastic! Great place to eat before going to the theatre. So close the both theatres. My friend and I tried the Summerlicious menu and it was awesome. Our waiter was great. Definitely going back.
Very good food and service, nice atmosphere, would recommend for business lunch or personal dining.
We were very pleased, especially the service. I have many food allergies that can become anaphylactic and the staff was so accommodating and wonderful!
First time and for an early, pre-concert dinner. Excellent food and terrific service. We will return for sure.
One of the best dining experiences I’ve had in a long time. Server was very personable and energetic and the food was absolutely perfect. Couldn’t have asked for a better experience
This is a beautiful spot on the second floor of the TIFF Lightbox with a comfortable lounge area and an elegant dining room with expansive windows looking over King Street West.
I was there for lunch and had the burger with Parmesan truffle fries (yummy!) and enjoyed every bite.Meaghan was my server and she was helpful with suggestions and was a real pleasure to talk to. She was polite, friendly, efficient and she has a fabulous, warm smile.
It's close to my office, and a convenient place for a quick meeting at lunch, or after work.... The wait staff (with an appropriately "artistic" bias, due to the connection of the restaurant with the TIFF Lightbox) is always interesting and helpful. The food is always interesting and better than average.
We had a nice quiet table for the three of us, which made it easy to talk. Service was quick, though they forgot the bread at the beginning....waitress was very nice but maybe a little over-friendly. Excellent food as usual- had the cauliflower dish and was thrilled with the flavours and different textures. All in all a lovely experience, though pricey.
