Lupo Restaurant & Vinoteca Ratings and Reviews
Excellent food in a cozy, elegant atmosphere w/ friendly yet professional service.
Low budget liquor for cocktails. Stuck in a corner staring at emergency exit. Very confined space. Cramped tables. Hard surfaces ricochet noise from everywhere. Food ok but no better than small Italian restaurant down the street at half the price with better atmosphere. Overall, very expensive and very average.
It was a bit busy so we did have to wait an extra 15 minutes even with our reservation. We found the service to be nothing too extraordinary but it was good. My experience this time around paled in comparison to my experience at Lupo 3 years ago, but the food was still very good and the pastas were amazing!
Perfect dining before a performance at the QE, Lupo puts on a wonderful show of their own. The fresh, seasonal food is beautifully presented, and staff are gracious and efficient. My husband and I shared sumptuous linguini with fresh truffles shaved at the table, then gorgeous melt-in-your-mouth sable fish with lovely local vegetables. Thank you to the owner, chef and staff!
Was staying in town to attend a concert at Rogers Arena. Wasn't planning on spending a lot for dinner beforehand, however most of the mid-priced restaurants were booked up. I had been to Lupo for lunch and a dinner previously so, I thought why not. So we booked and got there right on time. Immediately taken to our reserved table. Lately we have been to a couple of higher end restaurants in Vancouver and have noticed the service a little lacking. I know Vancouver restaurants are having issues retaining good service staff. However at Lupo, this was not the case. The server was, spot on. She was attentive and personal without overdoing it. Wine list was good, the food was excellent. I had the beef short rib. Perfect! Seared outside, fall of the bone tender, with the right amount of accompaniments. Couldn't ask for more... but we did and dessert was great as well, plus they know how to make a smooth espresso! So... a pleasant and enjoyable experience all around.
Lupo came very highly recommended. It was our first experience and it was truly outstanding. The service was fabulous. Staff were very accomodating. We had lots to catch up on and our server was attentive but respected that we were in no hurry. We had the specials for appies and main course. Absolutely devine! The BC wine we chose was terrific as well. Lupo is a dining destination and a must do for anyone living in or visiting Vancouver.
As an experienced restaurant goer, I really appreciate the right combination of great service, excellent cuisine and wonderful setting. We found this combination at Lupo. Thank You!
Food was great. Service was ok, felt like me and my friends were gently nudged out of the restaurant by the staff.
We went there for our 10 years wedding anniversary and it was the perfect place to be for a special occasion like that. The waiter was very nice, professional and helpful. She took care of us in a pleasant way. The food was very good. The burrata was really tasty and fresh, the tagliolini with mushrooms were amazing and the scaloppine with prosciutto perfectly cooked and tasty. Nobody push us to pay and we stay there as long as we like. For one night I forgot I wasn’t in Italy.
Best meal I've ever had. Excellent service and a good setting.
I have heard about Lupo for some time now and finally got around to trying it and I guess I must have built it up in my head but it was really not all that great. I ordered the lobster and the peas in the risotto were hard and the lobster just tasted bland. I did also order the cheesecake and that was delicious. Service was very good though I ran a bit late for our reservation and they sat us right away no waiting was required.
Our 2nd dining experience at Lupo for dinner. We were seated in a back corner nook of restaurant in a very noisy area with horrible acoustics. Two of our 3 Whiskey Sour cocktails were over-iced and it was difficult to taste any alcohol. I'll never order a cocktail here again. The entree Gnocchi is not recommended. It was bland and was similar in size to appy gnocchi, except it was $8 extra. Diners enjoyed the short ribs, duck and bison. Service was nothing special. Though we designated this was a birthday celebration, the server did nothing to make our party of five feel special.
Great service and food. Our server, Mike was wonderful
This is one amazing space for a special dinner. The service and food was wonderful.
Fois Gras was best ever! Great server and the owner came around at least twice to ask how things were. Exceptional!
As always amazing Italian style food, truffle pastas always a stand out
The sable special was incredible, one of the best meals I've ever had. A fantastic place for a special meal.
Great Italian food, with exceptional pasta and a fantastic wine list.
As usual, excellent food, service and wine! It is getting to be a bit loud for us older folks with hearing deficits to hold conversations-even mid week. We may have to request and upstairs table for a quieter atmosphere. However, We will be back!
Really enjoyable with great food and service. The specials were very good. A little expensive but it was worth the price.
Love the ambience of the restaurant. Great for getting together with friends. Service was good but felt we were being a bit rushed - as if there was another reservation to follow. Food good with the exception of one dish that was the veal - rather salty. Overall we enjoyed our evening.
I found Lupo to be one of the best restaurants in Vancouver!
The seats are too close to each other, nice place anyway
Well, that was a birthday dinner to remember. My girlfriend was so happy with the meal, the wine, and the excellent service. Thanks for making it such a wonderful experience with amazing food in a low-key yet fancy atmosphere. I hope we can make a tradition out of it!
It was ok, nothing really all that great. Flavors were not bad, service was ok. I expect more so I wont be back.
From top to bottom , our entire experience was outstanding! This was our last dinner of our Vancouver vacation, and was in fact the best meal we've had in a long time, anywhere. Service and ambiance are lovely, and the food is seriously delicious. Pricey, but worth it for sure. We had the sable fish special, taglierini, and tiramisu...mmm, I'm getting hungry just thinking about it....
Our server was amazing and really helped pull together our entire experience (I believe his name was Nathan).
The food was excellent as well, I had the Ricotta Gnocchi and Burrata Cheese appetizer, my boyfriend had the Octopus and the Elk special and enjoyed it very much. I'm unable to recall the name of the dessert we had but it was a delicious mix of ice-cream and nougat slightly frozen, an excellent recommendation from the server.
We had excellent service throughout our meal. The staff were attentive but not intrusive. This was a small wedding dinner and we could not have chosen a better location. It is not noisy which made it easy for us and our guests t relax and enjoy a very special dinner.
A delicious Italian dinner in a charming house converted to a restaurant. Our waiter provided excellent service. After he described the specials, we wanted every one! The food is Italian but with a twist and the dishes are lighter than one would expect.
The pasta with shaved black truffle was as good as we had in Italy. Also the veal chop one of the best
Customer service was rough to start as we had a new (young) wait person. Spilled water and spoke to fast. However a small unconvince when compared to the noise from the adjoining group in the front dining area. When we asked to move to a quieter location we got a very romantic spot in the back with a very good (experienced ) wait person and had a wonderful meal.
I booked online using this app .Requested window seat as it was Father,s Day for me ( from Australia) ,so a celebration with my son who works at Grouse Mountain .Our online request granted re window ,Juliette ( hope I got that right ) served us and was friendly ,informed and helpful with our selections .
The shared Rabbit Papardelle was amazing .Could easily have had that for my main .My son chose the Rib-Eye steak with salsa .This was one of the tastiest ,juiciest succulent steaks I have tasted .Ever and Australia has some great steak .
Nothing wrong with my veal ,very good .But the Rabbit and a Rib-Eye are the highlights in my 6 weeks -6 countries tour .In fact I'm going online now to see if I can book again tonight .Thank you for a memorable 2017 Father,s Day with my son and beautiful food .
Lupo is one of our favorite restaurants in Vancouver. The menu is interesting and changes often, although many favorites remain. The pastas are exceptional, freshly made and interestingly sauced. The chef's specials are wonderful, and the service is exceptional.
Delicious food, great presentation, great service!!! We enjoyed every single bite of all four dishes we ordered. Lets just say we felt in heaven. We are visiting Vancouver for the first time from Toronto and have become very picky when choosing out restaurants. This is by far one of the best restaurants we have been in a while.
Grande atmosphere. Would go back for whre
good food. cute interior. wine selection could be better. server was terrible. very rude.
It was our last night in Vancouver, and we had ALMOST just stayed and ate in our hotel - Thank goodness we didn't! I found Lupo on Open Table's "Near Me" selection of restaurants and it turned out to be one of the best, if not THE best meal of the trip. Our server Nathan was AMAZING and provide great recommendations that we followed to our benefit! It was the best service we've ever had (not just in Vancouver).
The food itself was so delicious too! I can't emphasize enough how happy we were to stumble upon this restaurant by accident, it was a great way to close our our week-long vacation. My only regret is not finding it sooner (we may have gone twice haha)
Fabulous food - unusual and authentic pastas, great caprese salad. The service was absolute top-notch. Very tasty gluten-free options as well. Try this place out, you won't regret it!
An old character home converted into a restaurant in downtown Vancouver. We had exceptional service from our server, Julia, from France. Appetizers & main entrees were delicious. Even the cappuccino was remarkable. This is a special place. Great for a date night. Can't wait to return.
My favorite restaurant in Vancouver. Whenever we're in town, a meal here is a must.
