Lupo Restaurant & Vinoteca Ratings and Reviews
We came to celebrate our anniversary and let me say, we were not disappointed at all! We were seated at the window overlooking Robson street and thus, were away from the main dining area. Our server Christina, was very gracious and knowledgeable when we asked for recommendations as it was our first time. She steered us down the right path as we thoroughly enjoyed our beautifully prepared dinner. We will definitely return for our next special occasion meal.
Lupo is a local gem with fantastic quality food, a great atmosphere and a wonderful team serving you. Would recommend for any occasion and it is one of our regular Vancouver haunts when we travel into the city.
A slightly off night--usually excellent pastas but a bit of a disappointment on this visit. (Pasta chef was apparently on holidays.) Best was the fettucine with black truffles. Meat/fish courses were well prepared and beautifully presented. Classic Italian fare. Very good wine list with a large selection of Italian wines. Excellent service. Beautiful room, but a bit loud.
Tiramisu is a must have! Save your space for dessert!
Second time here and it was just as memorable as the first visit. Excellent service and delicious food. Ribeye steak was delicious and the clams and shrimp were cooked perfectly in my Spouse’s main. Will be back soon!
We had a lovely dinner and were glad we chose Lupo for a quiet time together.
Food, ambiance and service were all outstanding. The food was perfectly prepared and generously proportioned. The staff were flexible to meet our requests. A very special place!
Great food in a cute historic house. The restaurant gave us a lovely window table for our 1 year anniversary and our waitress was wonderful! The food was amazing and my husband and I can't wait to go back for another meal. The atmosphere was nice but a bit more casual that I expected but all around still a lovely meal with great service! I'll definitely re-visit!
A wonderful atmosphere with delicious food and great service.
Everything was delicious, from start to finish!
Amazing as always! Highly recommend Lupo! If you haven't been you have to try it you will. It be disappointed
Very cozy and charming! "Fancier" Italian food. Mushroom pasta was delicious as was meatballs and polenta and sable fish.
Best Italian restaurant in Vancouver! Loved the place and the food. The rack of lamb and the ravioli were delicious
This is a favorite any time I am in Vancouver. They never disappoint!
Amazing ! I give 5 stars to Lupo! My favorite Italian Restaurant in Van !
We had a wonderful dinner upstairs at Lupo. The service was attentive, but not stifling and the food was fantastic. The fettuccine with black truffles from the daily fresh sheet was outstanding; they shave the truffles table side. The octopus mosaic was both beautiful and delicious. It seemed a shame to mess up the presentation.
Lupo won us over in a variety of lovely ways. We had a business lunch where two people had to cancel at the last minute so the manager (owner?) kindly settled us upstairs to conduct a few key pieces by phone. When we got back to the table, beautiful burrata, caesar salad, and octopus carpaccio awaited us. They were all fresh and gorgeous. We all had pasta as mains and between authentic and flavourful bolognese, a gorgeous mushroom pasta, and the feature ravioli, everyone had full happy bellies. I had a decadent creamy chocolate pot du creme type pudding and espresso for dessert which was followed by fresh (complimentary) panettone. Lupo scored high points with my guests who had never been there but commented multiple times that they will be returning. Thank you, Lupo for the kind service, the beautiful food, and the lovely ambiance. I'll be back.
Expensive with small portions. Front steps are steep and potentially treacherous.
The appetizers were fabulous. Beet Salad and the Pate. Beets were sweet and delicious. The bread was slightly toasted and went perfect with the jellied pate.
The main course, for us was about average.
The Lamb osso bucco fell off the bone but the risotto and peas were a little underdone.
The veal scallopini had prosciutto wrapped around it. Was a bit too salty.
Next time we would try their pasta instead.
Celebration of Life Dinner for Father. We were in the 12 seat wind cellar. Fantastic 😀
As always, we had a great meal at Lupo.
The staff is very knowledgeable and attentive. The wine list superb for any budget and the food second to none.
We loved his place! My partner and I always like trying new restaurants and finding gems in the city. This is definitely one of those gems. It’s a cozy, adorable restaurant that’s perfect for any occasion. We were on a date but we’d love to bring our parents here for a family dinner. The food was delicious and the service was really great too. It’s a bit pricey but definitely worth the splurge!
This may be one of my favorite restaurants ever. The location is fantastic in Yaletown, in a quaint little old home on Hamilton street. The service was top notch and the food was unbelievable. You can not have a bad meal here. The flavor and attention to detail was impeccable. I would highly recommend making a reservation, ordering a bottle of wine and enjoy every bite.
We went there in a cold winter night and was sat by the entrance, so it's quite cold as people entered the restaurant. I suggest relocating this table for more comfortable. Everything else is great!
Love this place! The food is the best and little house vibe is great.. ! Not cheap but worth it ! Would recommend for a special occasion!
we visit this lovely place once a year when we come to vancouver from seattle and every time is delightful. the food and service are both outstanding and we love the coziness of the space. we usually get to sit in the front window to enjoy our delicious meal that never disappoints. the menu staples as well as the seasonal specials have been wonderful! (the tagliarini and mushrooms with the nebbiolo are a must have)
thank you for an incredibly pleasant dining experience!
Great food, quick service, love the feeling of dining in a house.
Our experience at Lupo was fantastic. Celebrated my wife's birthday at Lupo and it did not disappoint at all. The food was very tasty and delicious. There were several items on the menu that were available for vegetarians. The service was top notch. Will definitely be back to enjoy another great meal at Lupo.
Food quality was excellent. During our dinner the ambient noise level within this historic building was much too high. We had difficulty hearing each other even though we had a table for two at the upstairs window. Because of the high ambient sound, I would not recommend LUPO Restaurant for an anniversary or a date. Some waiters seemed rushed and pressured and reluctant to talk to their guests. Our main waitress/server was pleasant. In some ways I think LUPO is an expensive dining factory, however it does deliver excellent food flavours. I hesitate to recommend LUPO to a friend unless it were for a one time only experience of authentic Italian dishes.
Excellent meal with great service. The specials were fantastic, truffles pasta with an amazing veal chop (two separate dishes).
Mike was our server and he was great - not hovering but looking after all our needs.
Only drawback was a big party seated behind us and cackling incessantly - not the fault of the restaurant.
Will not hesitate to return the next time we’re in Vancouver.
Great atmosphere, excellent food and attentive staff. Definitely will return.
Always a favourite, no bad meals.
Excellent food in a beautiful location... ravioli was amazing!
Also loved the beet salad!
We try to get to Lupo every time we go to Vancouver - haven’t been disappointed yet
Great Italian Restaurant
Very good wine list
We started with the Veal carpaccio for the second we shared the truffle fettuccine and had the elk for the main. Everything was perfect The waitress was very helpful and informative we had a great evening
I would recommend Lupo to everyone- especially if you enjoy Italian food
Wonderful. The food was delicious, with unique taste combos that worked. The building is an old house which makes the atmosphere fun. Our server Erica was friendly and attentive. Will definitely be back.
AAA in every way. Fantastic place. Cannot believe I hadn't been there before. Would go again Ina. Heartbeat.
Dining at Lupo is as tasty, romantic and special as it was when I first ate there 30 years ago!!
It was fantastic just a tad bit too loud.. perhaps some back ground music to diffuse the conversations
Food was great, service seemed somewhat disorganized and inattentive.
