Centrally located in downtown Victoria…just across the New bridge.
I would expect a more refined menu for the venue and prices.
I would be willing to pay more for a more interesting menu.
Presently the pub style menu does not match the overall ambience.
Excellent view, location, free parking and the food is always very good.
I made the reservation that morning for my parents 61st wedding anniversary and was pleased to get a lovely round table by the window.
We went for Sunday Brunch with a group of four. The food was delicious. One of us needed a vegetarian option and vegetarian brunch options are not plentiful on the menu. Our waiter was able to ask the kitchen to prepare a wonderful vegetarian option for one of the menu items. The rest of us ordered the Cobb Salad and it was exceptional. We also had three cheeses and tomato flatbread to share as starters. And two people ordered dessert; chocolate pot du creme and mixed berry crumble. It was all good. The ambiance was warm and inviting, the sun started shining in the large windows after a week of rain. It was magical. The best of all was Joey (or Joe) our waiter. He was engaging, charming, funny and efficient without pandering to us. I could see he kept an eye on our table for cues, if needed. Definitely a place we'd return to - again and again.
Our table was sat up top which was completely occupied by a surprise engagement party, even though there was several empty tables down lower that were empty our entire visit. This made it quite loud and difficult to enjoy our staff outing. The food was great, our server was amazing and very apologetic
Four members of a management team were looking for a much needed treat of good food, fancy drinks and a beautiful setting. Lure didn’t disappoint.
This was our first visit to LURE December 16/19 it was recommended to us by another friend. We had two wheelchairs and found that it was accessible and the view from our table was spectacular. Our waiter Patrick was very accommodating and attentive. The noise level was high but I think it may have been because of the Christmas season and large gatherings. Overall we had an excellent time we will be coming back and I will be recommending this restaurant to my friends and family.
Took our aunt and parents for lunch. Table had a great view of the harbour. Food was excellent. Service excellent.
Perfect setting for an adult family birthday. Lovely harbour view from a corner table. Professional and unobtrusive service. Noise levels quiet enough for conversation. Decent cocktails and a menu varied enough to satisfy a picky eater, a vegetarian, a foodie and a dessert-lover. It wasn’t cheap but it didn’t break the bank which is what I hoped for with this location.Playlist was a bit off, that’s my only very minor complaint.
The views are lovely. It was the weekend so there is a DJ in the bar with very loud music and there was a party going on also so the noise level was a bit much. I love the steelhead trout, perfect crispy outside.
B+B = Best Burgers
Cooked to order from house ground sirloin.
Great service and steve took very good care of us brilliant
It took a long time to get our drinks, and it took a good awhile before we finally managed to get someone attention to get our bill.
Excellent value for the cocktails on Sunday at noon. Service was very efficient and pleasant. We enjoyed
the view and did not feel any pressure to rush so stayed for extra coffees and enjoyed the view for over 2 hours. We will definitely come back again.
Only negative was the uneven service. When it was there it was great but long gaps and waits. After season slows?
Brunch was thoroughly enjoyable. Food and service were excellent. The views are outstanding.
The "music" was too loud for us to comfortably converse.
I found the menu somewhat limited.
The food was not terrible, but neither was it as outstanding as I would expect for the price.
The steak I ordered had little else on the plate; a more balanced meal would include more than a few grams of carbohydrate, or else come with bread.
We did order dessert, and waited a long time for it to arrive, even though the room was not excessively busy.
Great food and great selection. Love the view overlooking the harbour.
Our table of four ordered all different food items. Everything was good except the homemade potato chips. Service was not good. Our waitress never came by to check that we had everything we needed (we did need assistance). I still would recommend this restaurant as I can’t this waitress will be around much longer.
Can you tell me why?
I booked on line and also emailed to book a table for 6pm for 7 people.
I was told there were no spaces for 2 and 1/2 hours.
My husband went to The lure personally, and he was allowed to book.
When we got there, there were lots of tables empty.
Saturday morning and the restaurant was fairly empty. The service for food was a bit slow. We enjoyed the visit overall.
The menu was more like a pub menu than a fine dining establishment. Despite the implication of the name which suggests fishing, there was very little on the menu from the ocean. The view is fantastic.
Save room for the ice cream sandwich dessert. I wanted to lick the plate!
My wife and I took my aunt to Lure for her 88th birthday tonight. Place was quite busy. Had the fish and chips and Cobb salads. Food was high quality and outstanding. Beautiful view of the harbour. Excellent service too. So highly recommended.
Great setting on the water with great views of Victoria! Excellent food and a nice place to celebrate 52 years of marriage.
The food and service was good. It was ruined by a screaming baby. It didn’t stop for the full time we were there ... 7.30-9pm
No one dealt with it . Parents or staff ...
not expected for the price of the restaurant. I didn’t pay to go to a family restaurant on a Saturday night
We enjoy going to Lure - the service is friendly and the food is appealing and tasty. But we note that the decor of this beautiful space needs cleaning and updating. Pillars are badly chipped, baseboards are dirty, and upholstered banquettes are way past their prlme. Also, please be responsive to the many many reviews that point to the need to turn down the volume of your music. We have never seen a restaurant worldwide that tells its customers it can't adjust the music!
This is absurd and is harmful to your reputation.
Lovely patio overlooking Victoria’s harbour. We enjoyed prawn fettuccine, Cobb salad, halibut & chips, and a grilled chicken sandwich. Everything was fresh with well-balanced flavours and the kitchen was willing to make adjustments - changing the bread, holding the bacon, etc. For desserts, the Lure Monkey Bread sounds odd but is amazing. It’s very sweet so share it with your table mates and enjoy with a latte or cappuccino.
Great location to take visitors to for LUNCH and especially on a warm summer day when the patio is open. Be aware the patio umbrellas do not bend to shield the sun so wear lots of sunscreen and a hat!!
We no longer eat here for dinner as the menu has been dumbed down and become far too casual. However it works for a casual lunch.
It’s a hotel restaurant. Nice patio and single fire pit. Food was great so perfect spot to start at, especially if you’re staying there. Just not a place if you’re visiting the city; away from downtown and nothing exciting.
Lure never fails ! An absolutely amazing location with exceptional service always
The dinner menu has been dumbed down and what used to be a decent restaurant to take friends to was for us, embarrassing. The uninspiring service was also very surprising and disappointing.
Hang some material from the high ceiling so as to deaden the noise, which is way too high.
Service was terrible. I spoke to the manager and let him know and pointed out 4 other tables I noticed had been having a terrible experience as well. ( you could see the pent up frustration)
Waited 15 minutes to be greeted at our table, food came quick and was tasty, no clearing of our dirty plates no water service.
He offered an “I’m sorry” and a dessert but I had already paid.
Just know service might be sketchy and take a while.
They also had a formal event in the upper tier of the restaurant which was very loud and made the ambience definitely less enjoyable. They often book this upper level in Friday’s and Saturday’s for private events.
Overall, fairly poor experience. I’ve eaten at lite for 20 years and this was the worst time.
Food was good.
If you are looking for ambiance, this is the place. The views across Victoria's harbor are spectacular and can be enjoyed from many tables. The menu was a slight disappointment but the food was quite good. The spinach salad was not as good as what one expects. The flatiron steak was fantastic as were the fish and chips. One enjoyable appy was the mac and cheese bites, quite a surprise and worth trying. Our waitress was attentive and helpful. Wine list was fairly good. Worth taking a walk around outside after dinner and taking in all the sights, including the lit up blue bridge which is quite lovely.
We were disappointed in the new menu- too downscale “pub” food. The service was spotty. The fish in the fish and chips was badly overlooked.
Good food selection - relaxing and beautiful view of Victoria Inner Harbour
In spite of the Prime Minister being in the building the staff and food and ambiance was great.
I asked our server to turn down the music as one of our party has a severe hearing loss. She said that they couldn't control the content or the volume. When we went for lunch on a weekday, there were several seniors in the restaurant and a couple of families with children.
The volume of the music and the selection were unsuitable for this time of day and the clientele.
My friend couldn't hear a thing and didn't enjoy the party.
We stayed at the Delta and loved having breakfast at Lure each morning! The food was very nicely done and the service welcoming and friendly. And the view of the harbor and float planes taking off beautiful!
