   Very attentive service, delicious dinner salad but the margharita pizza is just regular pizza with a basil leaf on it and it's not as food as pizza shop slices.

   Could not ear our meals. Arrived at noon wuth reservations. Place was empty, staff looked upset. We ordered and said we have show tkts. At 115p still no food, even though we kept asking and told it was coming. At 120p meals came out one at a time. Hamburger was raw, egg/potatoes were mush and chicken parm was all breading with thin cutlet. Now to late to eat. I advised my disappointment and server did say, no charge. There seem to be a problem in the kitchen so we should have been told so we could go elsewhere. Now had to go to theater without eating. We did tip server. Never had experience like this especially in theater district.

   Confusion over lunch vs brunch menu got the experience off to a rocky start. But the food is very good for the price and don’t miss out on the pear martini.

   My daughter and I had dinner after a show. The restaurant was easy to walk to from the theater. We were seated in the back and there were a few larger very loud parties. That was my only negative. Our waiter was hard to hear but we managed. Oysters were fantastic. Icy cold and sweet. We also had eggplant rollitini and then our dinners. I had the branzino special which was very good cooked with white wine sauce with chopped tomatoes and olives. There were pits in the olives FYI. My daughter had penne with pesto and chicken, also very good. We had the 44 montepulciano wine and tiramisu for dessert. Overall a great meal. Prices are very reasonable and portions generous. We had enough for lunch the next day.

    Overall the service and food was good. My friend thought that the sauce was too acidic, I did not, I loved it! My chicken eggplant rollatini was good but not as gooey cheesy as I hoped.

    This was my first time back since Covid and it was nothing like it used to be. So disappointing. The service was not very nice and the food was not good. The meats on the antipasto were not even edible. I will not go back at all. So sad

    I have eaten here several times before for brunch, and we’ve normally had a very good experience. However, this time not so much. I’m sure they are short staffed as most restaurants are, but we waited a very long time for our orders to be taken and then a good while for our drinks to be delivered. When the food finally started coming out, one of our parties meal was not there at all, and one was totally incorrect.

    This is a fabulous venue with a very attentive staff. A lot of reviews say it's crowded but our party of 6 did not find this true. All of us ordered something different and shared around -- all of the dishes were great. We would highly recommend this establishment for theater district dining (and skip the Olive Garden in Times Square).

    I had made reservations on Open Table and we were seated promptly. My wife ordered a glass of wine and it was served promptly. When we placed our entree orders I also asked for a glass of the same wine my wife ordered. Although the waitress kindly advised that my lasagna order would take longer, it took a very long time to receive my wine so that I could toast with my wife her birthday that day. I was surprised that we didn't receive any bread on our table until after our entrees were served and I had mentioned it. There were bread plates on our table since we were seated. I was also disappointed that, although I noted it on our Open Table reservation, my wife's birthday wasn't recognized. When we had arrived a woman across from us was recognized with a candle on her dessert and was even sung to by a staff member. I thought our waitress would have taken an additional cue from me when I mentioned that my wife was ordering her 'Birthday" dessert; no such luck. Although I'm sure we'll return, this wasn't as special as I had intended.

    Everything about our experience was incredible. From our waitress, Irene, to the food. Just incredible. My family and I came here for Christmas Eve and the staff was wonderful, we were seated right away (with our reservation), the food was top notch, and our waitress Irene truly made our night complete. Would absolutely recommend.

    Place was a bit small and so it kind of gets crowded. No place to wait so you’re bumping into people that’s seated close to the front door. Food was definitely great. Big portions. The whole staff worked hard to make sure everyone had great service. Make sure you read the receipt. Gratuity is already included on the bill. If you want to give extra, you can do so by adding it on the receipt after they swipe your card.

    EXACTLY what we were looking for: My friend and I take a girls’ trip with our kids every Christmas. I was devastated to learn COVID closed the place my parents had taken me each year over 2 decades. It was such a loss. BUT finding Mama Mia was the best ever! It is family owned and loved. They love their customers and are happy you are there. They want you to love the experience. The food was great and the prices were more than fair. It was a bit noisy but it’s small. Standard for theatre district restaurants. So excited to start this tradition all over again in a new restaurant with my daughter. ❤️ Already planning next year!

    This little gem in the Theatre District was a welcomed surprise! The food was amazing, just like Mama would make. We had the eggplant rollatini appetizer and the chicken Francese... both excellent choices. The martinis were perfect served in a generous sized glass. The staff, Angelo and Victor were extremely friendly and welcoming. The owner Connie made us feel like family. She even sent over a glass of champagne since it was our anniversary. It was after the Theatre rush so the ambience was relaxed and had nice romantic lighting, we were not rushed at all. We definitely will be back again and again to enjoy the truly authentic Italian cuisine.

    We went for lunch when it was very quiet. I see it is regularly crowded for the evening pre theatre crowd. It’s an old fashioned ‘Italian (American)’ eatery. The food is traditional of that style (but often with fries!). the service was good, the food was average at best. But compared to many other places it was decently priced.

    I am so disappointed to write this unfavorable review. We have eaten at Mama Mia several times and have loved the food, the service, the ambience. This time was different. We waited almost an hour for our food. We were going to a show and really had to hustle to be there on time. There appeared to be one greeter/seater, one waitress and one person who brought the food to the table. Either they are very understaffed or some people did not show up for work today. It was not the fault of the few who were working. However, there was no communication with us, no apology for the long wait. We left very dissatisfied.

    We returned after visiting 5 years ago & loved it Disappointed this time around Service was poor, not very welcoming, forgot our starter, but thought it was acceptable to give with our main Pasta dish was not the standard from a traditional Italian Over priced for return of poor food and service Service charge 20% We were celebrating our 30th wedding anniversary not even a complementary drink!

    Waitress did not share the specials with us (we overheard other tables getting specials read to them after we ordered). Did not come back to check on table or refill drinks between food arrival and clearing plates. Food was good as always but the overall experience was just okay this time.

    The food is excellent, as always. It is a favorite of ours, and we return to it more often than we try other NY City restaurants—great value for the money. The only negative is that the noise level is too high (most times) to have a conversation with your dinner partner(s).
