Our reservation was on a lovely night, and we were able to enjoy outdoor dining. The ambiance was delightful. The service was perfect (timely, professional, friendly) and our pasta dishes were delicious! Last time we visited was 16 years ago. Mamma Maria has not lost it's way. It's a must visit for us anytime we're in Boston.

Excellent, as always! Even though we had reservations at the bar, we were given the option to sit outside in the beautiful North End square. It was a lovely warm evening and we enjoyed our delicious meal al fresco with our very attentive waiter.

We had a wonderful experience upon arriving at our table. Michael did a wonderful job in making our evening quite enjoyable. His wine recommendations were spot on! However, upon arriving to Mamma Maria, the gentleman working at the reception stand outside was to put it bluntly an axx! His arrogant attitude and unyielding desire to not be helpful was atrocious. We wanted to have a pre-dinner cocktail, and he would not allow us to go upstairs to the bar. We then asked where should we go? He gruffly said “just go there”, while pointing across the street to the other Italian restaurant on the corner, Ciao Roma. We did go there to enjoy a drink. If this were my employee, at the very minimum, he would be on a performance improvement plan immediately upon exhibiting this type of behavior. Unfortunately, due to his attitude, I will no longer be visiting or recommending Momma Maria.

The absolute best meal we had in “Little Italy” ! I loved that we were seated upstairs right next to a window near the fire escape. My husband and I had a nice quiet dinner, beautiful scenery and an excellent meal. The duck appetizer was amazing, my halibut was so tasty and my husbands spicy pasta was delicious! The cocktails we good and the chocolate torte was really good too!

I have to say that Mamma Maria is my favorite restaurant in Boston for the following reasons: 1. Fabulous food though I'm always annoyed because they have an awesome grilled octopus dish and they rarely have it on the menu. 2. The outdoor dining area. They have one of the best and it's a very atmospheric area. The Paul Revere house is just down the street, too. Dining indoors is quite fine but dining outdoors takes it up a whole another level.

Reluca was our server for the first time; she was excellent attending to our every need and timing the meal perfectly. The food was exqusite as always. We tried a little new and some old favorites. It hard to not to have your 'specialties' but the new menu items are just as good. Though our servers have all been excelent, I would be remiss not to mention the busing support. They are timely, courteous and attentive. We enjoy sparkling water. When we run low or out they always are right there to see if we want more, and if yes, are back right away. It's always a pleasure to visit; we've already booked our next two trips. Thank you, Bill and Julie

We were able to eat outdoors which was delightful. The Polpeti, scallop, and smoked mozzarella and tomatoes were terrific. The house made pasta con dugout was extraordinary as was the suckling pig with figs. Fresh halibut was superb. The extensive wine selection, while a bit pricey, will satisfy most folks. Altogether, a fabulous meal.

We were very exited for this place due to the good reviews. But when we arrived it wasn’t what we were expecting. Place is really nice but the food is not. All of the three plates ordered were too heavy on pepper in the sauce so I wasn’t able to enjoy the flavor. Cocktails were good and our server was extra nice and very friendly. Another problem is the bathroom area it’s too narrow. While you wait your turn servers will be trying to get through the hallway with you in the middle. It’s like an awkward dance. Overall it’s not worth the hype or money. Can’t say I will return.
