Mangia E Bevi Ratings and Reviews
We dine at Mangia E Bevi about once a month. It’s our first choice for a Northshore restaurant.
Our favourite West Van restaurant, great for special occasions such as birthdays & anniversaries.
We were a group of six and specifically booked for the special truffle menu. The truffle appetizers and main courses, which were fairly evenly distributed in our group, were all outstanding. A great evening.
Great food, great service & great evening. One of our favorites.
Invited our East Vancouver friends who had never been here and they loved it. Excellent service and timely delivery of our food and drinks with everything as ordered.
Best Italian in West vancouver and one of the two best on the North Shore. Extensive wine list if you are a connoisseur of wine.
This is a nice place for dinner out for any reason or occasion - we all enjoyed it and will be coming back again. The staff were excellent - friendly as well as very professional.
We dined with friends. The service was extremely professional. Absolutely the best lamb in town. Love this place!
Come here lots in the past ... always great food and polite staff .. highly recommend😌
Service was extremely slow. We entered the restaurant with a reservation at 7:15pm and were not served our dinner until well after 9pm.
Great little Italian neighbourhood restaurant. Calimari steak was fantastic! Great food, great service!
This is one of the best Italian restaurants in the Vancouver area, and certainly the top in West Vancouver. The staff is friendly, and the service is excellent. The menu has something for everybody ranging from pasta, to meat, fish, and poultry. Special requests are welcome if you want something which is not on the menu. It's an excellent value for money restaurant. The outdoor patio is a great place to sit, people watch, and have space for conversation. The inside is cozy. All in all, we've never had a mediocre or so so meal at this place.
We have enjoyed numerous occasions eating at this restaurant.
There was one problem this time however... I had requested flowers when I made the reservation, as I had done in the past. When we arrived at this restaurant last Valentine's Day evening, they already had an arrangement of flowers on our table upon our arrival. This time there were no flowers and I was told that I should have been more clear, and that the restaurant doesn't supply flowers. I didn't feel good hearing this, especially since I had asked exactly the same way when making my reservation before, and my request was honoured. I have no problem paying for the flowers and I don't feel it is an unusual request.
Other than that, we really do enjoy coming to Mangia E Bevi
Dined at Mangia many times. Had a new old lady waitress who claimed to know more about the menu than the chef. Also claimed to know how to mix drinks. She did not. Forgot an appetizer and gave no apology. The person had to eat the appetizer after everyone else had finished theirs.Once appetizers were finished it took 15 minutes before the plates were cleared. When entrees finally arrived, the pasta dish was so dry it was almost not edible. The special/feature entree was over cooked and salty.
Overall a horrible evening, one so bad, may not go back,
We consistently get good here. The wine selection is also wonderful.
Service was very poor, fruit flys all over the place! Not what we expected!
Took out some good friends to our favourite restaurant. Mangos Bevi never dissapointed. The best carpaccio I have ever eaten. The meal was a big hit with everyone.
The food was excellent but we waited for a long time for our food to be served. Not one time that we were asked if how's everything nor offered if we want black pepper or more cheese on the pasta 🍝 . I guess the server was super busy that night.🙁
Wow, what a difference a year makes. We were at Mongia E Bevi last year and had great food and great service. This year - no great food and no great service. We were surprised when we came in at 6:30 that we were the only people inside (there were a couple of tables on the patio out front). Last year there were many, many people.
Once seated we waited for EVERYTHING! We waited for water. We waited for cocktails. When they were served we waited longer for the bottle of wine. We waited and waited and waited (at least 30 minutes) for our starter (which was the best thing we had). Then we waited another almost 30 minutes for our main course (which was actually only a second starter!).
The waitress stated that the Executive chef was out due to an injury. The owner was out at another event. So, it would have been nice to be informed of this BEFORE we ordered.
We were VERY disappointed to say the least. Won't be back anytime soon.
Access challenging for a disabled person driving if there is no street parking left. My friend is paraplegic on crutches and metal braces...never uses a wheelchair. Parking is in the back and below street level. He climbed stairs to get to street level...no easy feat...perhaps even more difficult on the way down. He is very independent and chooses to manage on his own rather than ask for help. Our server was very attentive. Gave good advice on the antipasti to share 2 orders among the 3 of us. We had to leave a little sooner than we would've liked because the air conditioning was uncomfortable. Difficult to earn "outstanding" as my wife is an excellent cook and passionate about food. We've been to Italy numerous times including Umberto Menghi's cooking school in Tuscany in 2008. We like simple, great ingredients and value.
We are lucky to live nearby so this is our go-to restaurant for authentic Italian cuisine. Always outstanding.
don't change anything...this is a special neighbourhood spot and I would consider the best in West Vancouver
Last minute drop-in looking for a good steak ......the tenderloin is now crusted with something very nice, it was as good as ever, as was the service . This must be the most reliably good west vancouver dinner !
great food! fabulous server! we had 8 in our party ranging from 20 to 87 and all were satisfied. The food was delightful, wine and drinks great and our waiter was very friendly, attentive and full of suggestions for choices to try. i would recommend this restaurant!
We celebrated my husband's birthday with a group of friends. The food was simply delicious with very good portion size and the service was amazing. I will definitely come back and wouldn't hesitate to highly recommend.
We dined with out of town friends. Two had fish, one had veal and one had their daily feature pasta. Various salads were had by all. We were all happy with our mains an especially impressed by the salads. Wine list was extensive but reasonable. Service was better than that provided by similar restaurants. Parking on the street was convenient right in front of the restaurant on a Tuesday evening.
What a wonderful experience, greeted warmly, served promptly, and the food was outstanding.
Excellent as always
Fabulous dinner, as usual! They accommodate gluten free very well. I had the sablefish and prawn pasta. It was delicious! The service was excellent and service was very friendly, as always.
Authentic Italian cuisine in a cozy atmosphere. Friendly and attentive service. Great menu!
The food and service were excellent, a very fine restaurant!
Another excellent meal at Mangia e Bevi--very good as always.
Restaurant personnel were very accommodating - assigned us a table but when a better table became available, they offered to move us. Beet Salad was delicious and the salmon was moist and tasty. My husband rated the veal short ribs as excellent...all in all, it was an excellent experience and we would definitely return .
The food was delicious and the waiter and the kitchen went out of their way to accommodate a food allergy in our party. I would recommend this restaurant to everyone.
As always, another excellent meal in a warm and friendly locale with great, attentive staff. We will be back, for sure!
Had an excellent evening. The food and wine selection were excellent. Relatively quiet and obviously a special restaurant to many as it seemed most were very comfortable return customers. Thanks very much!
excellent service, set menu for forty dollars extremely good value, desserts delicious!
Wonderful location and food. Attended in support of the Bacio donor initiative and so pleased to support their fundraising and have a fantastic meal!!
This was our Annual BACIO Dining which is always an amazing Night with a Great Cause. Fresh Tasting and Even took home some leftovers :)
We were seated right on time even thought the restaurant was busy. Table was in a great location. Conversation was easy with noise level quite acceptable considering how busy the place was. our server was very attentive and took our orders right away. Food arrived inn order with allowed to finish each course. Food was excellent and well presented. We will certainly make a return visit.
The service was excellent and friendly. The food was delicious and the background music, which was not loud was our kind of music. A very enjoyable evening meal.
