Lincoln Square Restaurants

Very nice location for good food before a matinee at Lincoln Center. A half bottle of good Sonoma Chardonnay complemented tasty chicken in a mushroom sauce and crab cakes with corn sauce. Service was very good and never a rush. Fresh warm bread with good butter. Pricey for our out-of-town experience but worth it for a special occasion.

A real gem of a spot with superbly prepared Italian dishes in an iconic, elegant and intimate space. My companion and I started with the truffle custard appetizer (SFORMATO DI TARTUFO NERO) – each bite just exploded with earthy and rich flavor and the parmigiano crisps were perfect. Both primis were excellent, the lobster linguine (LINGUINE ALL-ARAGOSTA had just the right touch of acid from the tomatoes and had large sweet chunks of lobster. The fettucine with artichoke (FETTUCCINE CON CARCIOFI) was creamy and smoky and it was rich with pieces of frizzled guanciale. The pork tenderloin was just as good, and the monkfish (CODA DI ROSPO) was plump and flavorful and perfectly cooked. Then to top it off, we shared the olive oil cake (TORTA OLIO D’OLIVA) – a moist, rich final taste. There’s a nice selection cocktails and a strong wine list bridging many grapes, regions and price points. We started with a quite good glass of champagne and a sidecar, then shared a bottle of montepulciano d’abruzzo. We were also impressed by our server Sarah, who kept everything running. She answered all of our questions about the food and wine, as you’d expect, but also seemed to honestly enjoy helping us and the other diners, and had such a positive high energy that it enhanced our experience. The restaurant really hit high marks in every respect.

Absolutely amazing experience on New Year’s Day was such a beautiful place and the food was incredible would come back from the uk just for this place !

My husband and I return to Café Luxembourg frequently. I always enjoy the French continental atmosphere with quiet music playing. The coffee is great! The food is delicious. This time we sat outdoors in their covered and heated dining room. Nice and pleasant servers.

Awesome brunch at The Smith with our kids on New Years Day. Attentive staff, many open tables, and the food was on point.
