Aunt Jake's was founded in 2015, as the company set out to replicate the idyllic, simplistic cuisine we grew up to enjoy. However, we wanted to create Italian food for the “next” generation. The idea was to develop an Italian concept around the customer’s choice of how to eat pasta compared to how the restaurant wanted you to eat it. With that in mind, Aunt Jake’s core mission is to bring high-quality fresh ingredients daily to craft our handmade pasta and sauces health-consciously. The customer can mix and match sauce with shape and create a custom dish of their own.

    The decor is minimal and effortless, just as I would expect. The menu is well curated to have enough options but not feel overwhelmed by choices. The food was delicious. The salmon and cucumber salad- light and favorable, the cheesecake smooth and dreamy. The derive was top tier, appearing as you needed something but never hovering. This was my 40th birthday dinner and it everything I could have hoped for.

    First of all fantastic food. Everything you would expect in small plate tapas restaurant. I’ve been to Spain numerous times and the culinary experience at Pil Pil is as good or better than I’ve enjoyed in Spain. The service is excellent, well informed waiters are very helpful. The intranet menu is well thought out and easy to select dishes. They have a wishlist click which able you to store your selections then edit if you wish. Great ambience, casual and authentic

    This was my second time at Blue Mezze. The food was great once again. I highly recommend the manti and shrimp saganaki as appetizers and the lava lokum from the entrees. The servers were so friendly and accomodating. Overall a wonderful dining experience!

Just a few years back, the stately neighborhood near Central Park was mostly stale, white-tablecloth spots with very little to attract the foodie set. Well, times have changed, and the area has a slew of fresh places to experience. Not-too-fancy French brasseries include favorites without the stuffiness, California-inspired fish tacos bring a golden glow to winter afternoons, and creative tavern fare undo the top button. But since this is the UES, there are still high-end sushi institutions. Uptown is still refined in its inimitable way, it’s now just a bit more accessible and vibrant, just like a foie gras mini taco.
