    Over the past 4 years, I received outstanding customer service, each and every time. I know I will never find another place like Masa Minneapolis so every time I speak of the experience it will always be with a endearing smile and a tear in my eye.

    I live just two blocks away from Masa, and unfortunately this was my first visit. I was pleasantly surprised by the food. It's overpriced if you don't get a special. The margarita was lacking. Overall, great spot for lunch!

    I believe this is the last week Masa is open. Closing due to the end of their ten-year lease and the two-year reconstruction of Nicollet Mall.

    This place is "hip Mexican" food, but not exactly what I would call traditional. Ingredients were fresh and well prepared. The décor is very modern, but man are those wooden chairs uncomfortable after about 15 minutes! The menu was reasonable but not as expansive as a traditional Mexican restaurant. Although pricey, the cocktails are big enough to make it worth it. One bartender for the whole bar and the restaurant made drink delivery quite slow, unfortunately. Worth checking out but not a bucket list restaurant.

    We went to dinner to celebrate a birthday. Family from out of town were also visiting. It turned out to be a great evening, with good food, and excellent service. Note - the tamales were amazing!

    We are fairly regular diners at Masa, so we were really disappointed to hear that the restaurant will be closing at the end of Ocotber. So what to do but make a few reservations and enjoy it while it lasts! They are currently promoting some of their menu items from the past, so my wife and I enjoyed sharing an order of king crab enchiladas - very tasty. The other dishes were also great, we particularly enjoyed the ahi tuna ceviche. We'll be back a couple more times before they close, and we encourage others to visit as well!

    I'd read the mixed reviews that pop up for Masa, and so my expectations were modest. They excelled in all respects. The service was top notch, with an attentive but not intrusive wait staff -- just the right balance. The food was fantastic. I have a food allergy that they accommodated buy making a small substitution, and it was delicious. I highly recommend the Carne Asada. We'll be back!

    Great overall experience, will absolutely return. Brought out of town gusts from Chicago, and they loved Masa! The food was fantastic, beautifully prepared and presented. The waiter attentive, but didn't hover - offered excellent suggestions. The margaritas were delicious, as well. Lovely ambience, scenic corner in heart of downtown Minneapolis.

    The salad I ordered (which included braised short rib) was only okay - primarily because the meat was overcooked and dry. That's not something you expect from a braised meat. Also, although I had reservations, we were seated in the back corner next to some sort of closet that the wait staff were accessing, which was annoying.

    Our waiter Dirk, & the rest of your staff are fabulous. Very knowledgeable about your menu & product, made great recommendations that were a taste sensation, was very energetic about his job and providing great service. Had a great lunch experience and will recommend.

    Four of us went to Masa to celebrate a coworker's birthday, because it's her favorite Mexican restaurant. We were disappointed with our visit for a couple reasons. First, our server, Cameron, was less than attentive to us, most likely because there were several larger groups in his section. Second, one person in our party ate very little of her chicken torta because the chicken was way too spicy for her. We felt that Cameron should have pointed that out when she placed her order. In the absence of that, he should have noticed that her plate was full when he took it away and should have asked her what was wrong.

    Have experienced great food & service in the past. Took special AZ friends before Madame Butterfly. Early. Not very busy. Service was terrible. Never received requested clean fork. Took one from neighboring table. Even though requested separately, tortilla soup & main courses served simultaneously. While serving & clearing all concurrently is a nice flourish, why were our empty drink glasses still on table with wine glasses when we left? Informed server as ordered we were going to performance. He replied he'd keep eye on the clock for us. Had difficulty getting his attention to pay bill. He asked if we wanted dessert. Not enough time! Margs were great! Food was also not as good as in past. Calamari Ceviche was good but server could have mentioned truly not substantial enough for sharing. Tortilla soups too salty and tasted more like French Onion. Mussels were the best entree at table. Carne Asada was good but not great as in past. Not served medium rare as ordered. Sea bass was a disappointment. Lurcat has much better. Preparation expected to be different, but the quality of the cut of fish from restaurant under same ownership should be comparable. . Good wine. Poor server attention. Will I go back? Yes. But, I won't recommend or treat special out of town friends until I've experienced improvement.

    This re-visit was long overdue and did not disappoint. The ambiance of Masa is trendy but welcoming and the greeting and timely treatment by all staff was such a positive introduction to the delicious meal we enjoyed. There was a clear difference in the two sauces offered with the home made chips, both delicious and flavorful. The hangar steak was definitely a dish for the adventurous palate and made our eyes pop, so beware! Delicious but very lively. The enchiladas with braised beef were completely different--tasty but mild with a green sauce and crema to balance the taste--just perfect in flavor, though the temperature was cooler than I would have expected. The dessert options were varied and wonderfully described but we chose well in the yummy ice cream trio that included a strawberry-hibiscus sorbet that lightened up the other rich flavors of the evening. Delicioso! Gracias!

    We chose Masa because we were interested in Margarita's and dinner before a show at the Orpheum - and were able to get a reservation on short notice. On a whole, it was fine. Margarita's were great and waiter was helpful in selecting. Service was not so great. They somehow forgot to get our Margarita order in so took over 20 minutes to get the drinks. They offered gluten free menu but then were out of items when we ordered from it. When they brought the food, they weren't sure who had what so unclear if our gluten free order was truly gluten free. In a nut shell, margarita's and food were good, service mediocre.

    Masa expands the menu of ordinary "Mexican" restaurants and delivers excellent new choices. The food and the service are excellent, and the Margaritas are also very good. The restaurant is conveniently located on Nicollet Mall, if you're looking for a night on the town or just a great meal with good friends.

    First visit to Masa during Resteraunt Week. Service was very friendly and attentive. We were offered a free appetizer for waiting for drinks. Both management and server checked on us at various times. Very friendly and helpful. Resteraunt Week offerings were excellent and plentiful. Some other places hide their offers or treat you like second-class customers. Not at Masa. Food was delicious and not the cheapest things on their menu. As a result, we will come back!

    We have dined at Masa before but, on this occasion, went with another couple who had never been to this restaurant. The food was, as usual, delicious but somewhat spicy especially the tortilla soup and shrimp adobo sauce which were especially good as was the pork. Considering that the restaurant was busy, the service was particularly excellent. My husband and I are fairly judgmental about dining experiences but were both impressed at how wonderful this particular evening turned out to be...especially since we had invited friends!

    Good value for lunch, especially for restaurant week. Pros: servers seemed attentive, and asked if we wanted a spicy salsa, kept our water glasses full, etc. Cons: Agua fresca just tasted like tap water, and instead of a steak taco I was given a chicken torta. Food also tasted more bland than past visits, and jicama in the jicama salad was cut into very large pieces this time, which makes it less pleasant to eat. I've had many good experiences at Masa, so I'll go back again and hope this last visit was just an off-day.

    This has been one of several visits we have made to Masa. We have always loved the food, the service, and the experiences in the past, so much that we often use this restaurant as a special-occasion destination. This last experience was not as special, alas. The service, previously exceptional, was lackluster at best. We ordered a bottle of wine, and after tasting it, we realized that the wine had turned. When we requested a new bottle, we were told that it would be best to just select a different wine. This is something we have never experienced (unless they were out of that particular wine...which wasn't communicated as such), as most reputable establishments understand that wine can turn, and it is often not their fault. It took a tremendous amount of time for the second bottle to appear, and by the time that was opened and poured, our dinner was cold. We didn't even get an apology for the delay.

    The tres leches cake was amazing as were the enchiladas. I would say the chips are too hard and I would prefer a fresher tasting salsa. That said, I'm a vegetarian and there were plenty of options.

    A group of 6 of us enjoyed an evening of great happy hour food and drinks on the patio at Masa. It was nice to be outside with all the people around. Our server did a good job of managing our drinks and food orders (a little slow maybe) but it appeared she had half the patio herself. And as always the food does not disappoint.

    We decided to eat at Masas before we went to the theater. They had extended their "Date Night" special to Friday and Saturday. Normally, they only have the date night special on Sunday. It is a terrific deal, and you generally get more food than you need. Their special tacos are always very good. Our only issue we had was due to our main server. He was very inexperienced, difficult to understand, and of course, he got our order wrong. This error was quickly corrected and the manager delivered the correct food to us.

    My fiancé and I came to Mesa for her birthday before heading to the show flamenco on fire. I wanted to take her out for sangria and a Latin themed dinner. Mesa was great! We were pleasantly surprised we made it early for happy hour we were unaware of, and they have fantastic discounts. We opted to try the ceviche that was not on the happy hour menu but it was our favourite dish of the night! Great service and food, we would come back again if we pass through Minneapolis. Cheers from Canada!
