Alfred's is a pop-up restaurant brought to you by Dose Coffee. Our aim is to provide exceptional hospitality, service, food and drinks in a casual, fun and intimate atmosphere. Alfred's is a place to come as you are and enjoy everything from a glass of wine & homemade focaccia to a multi-course dinner with family & friends.
The kitchen is led by Head Chef's Ivan Blackwell and Brad Johnston with a focus on Italian inspired cuisine that's designed to be shared. However, we also won't mind if you'd just like to enjoy a bowl of gnocchi all to yourself! The bar is led by founder, John Pierce, who has carefully curated a list of old world wines alongside classic cocktails with a twist.
We are a small and intimate restaurant so large dining tables are limited to 6 people.
Alfred's is the place that we wanted to go to but it didn't exist; so we've created it. Enjoy.

Amazing experience! My server Aaron was so helpful and truly knowledgeable about their menu and what I might most enjoy. I really appreciated how careful they are with gluten, clearly very celiac friendly.

Contrary to several friends who had tried Elio Volpe and weren't that impressed, we were wow'd. First of all, the service was amazing. Our server was knowledgeable, helpful, friendly, and able to really connect with everyone at our table. He asked questions but was not intrusive. Different people delivered food and drinks to the table, and there were others who cleared away dishes. The restaurant was well staffed and the teamwork was very well orchestrated. Well trained top notch service. Food was delicious and beautifully presented. The salads were very generously sized, the pizza was just right for six people to all have a slice, the pasta perfectly al dente, and the main courses very enjoyable. Three different desserts shared amongst six people was just the right finish. The restaurant was hopping. It was nice and calm when we arrived at 5 pm but as it started to fill up it became a bit noisy. Elio Volpe is a restaurant that we'd like to have on regular rotation as we enjoyed everything about it so much but it's a little pricey to go back as often as we would like. But we will definitely be back.

Discover Vancouver

A jewel of the West Coast, British Columbia’s capital city is known for its pristine seafood, modern architecture and stunning backyard mountains. Dungeness crab, wild salmon, dim sum, and creative fusion cuisine are popular picks among Vancouver’s culinary kaleidoscope. And as the birthplace of West Coast Modernism, Vancouver is a leader in sustainable design and philosophy. It comes as no surprise that responsibly sourced, local foods fill the plate, too. Vancouver is a proudly diverse city with a reported 40% of residents hailing from countries beyond Canadian borders.
