Established in 1981 by Michael Morra Sr., Michael’s Back Door Restaurant has been providing Mississauga and the GTA with award winning Italian cuisine and professional courteous service in a warm, comfortable atmosphere for 42 years.

Principal owner Michael Morra Jr., along with partners Anthony Coffa and Chef Mark D’Souza invite you to experience creative Italian, continental fare, offering the freshest ingredients and a variety of rare wines.

Head Chef, Mark D'Souza, joined Michael's Back Door in 2015. Since becoming the head of the kitchen, Mark and his team have focused on adding a modern twist to our traditional rustic and regional Italian dishes.

    Always amazing food and service at Michael’s Backdoor. It is our “go to” restaurant for special occasions. It’s also always nice to be greeted by friendly faces right when we enter the place!

    The food was fantastic dont get me wrong there. We will definitely be back the lobster angel hair pasta was incredible. Our server was terrible. Basically laid the menus down at us & said “what wine do you want” we didn’t even get his name or hear any of the specials. Seemed like he was too busy paying attention to other tables that would grant him a larger tip. We were very disheartened by the service great restaurant but if we come back we will make sure to ask to be seated elsewhere.

    We were celebrating our weddings anniversary and had mentioned this at the time of booking. Nothing special was done to acknowledge this:(( Waiter was not pleasant at all:(( Food was good:)

    Michael's Back Door has been a favourite for years, so much so that our kids give us gift certificates to dine there. Our dinner entrees, veal scalloppini and seafood linguini, were delicious and just the right amount. They accomodated my food intollerances when asked. Even though the venue was very busy, the service was excellent and very personable. I recommended their food to a friend who is now having her birthday party there!

    Overpriced. Very mediocre food. A+ for presentation. Overall experience I wouldn't go back. Thought it might b a lively place. Was almost empty. The only side that had people were all elderly folk. They sat us on the other side of the restaurant which had 0 people. The ambiance is very old school. The food although looked amazing in pictures was very basic. Nothing worth mentioning besides don't go lol. Waayyyy better places out there for that price range and even cheaper. Also to top it off they had the weirdest server (elderly Asian man) who should probably take some lessons in etiquette. Was extremely awkward dealing with him. There's places I've been to where I didn't like the food' but just based off the exceptional service I wouldn't say anything negative about the establishment.....this isn't one of those places. Save your money and taste buds and go somewhere better.

    It had been a long time since I had been to Michael's Back Door Restaurant. I had forgotten just how nice a place it is. Our server was excellent, friendly, funny and efficient. it was my birthday and I was presented with tiramasu with a candle in it, for dessert, on the house. It is definitely on the top of my list of places to go.

    Nice quiet dinning room with great atmosphere, server was too buy that evening that we had to wait quite sometime to order the main course. Food wasn't that great, my Apollo Chicken was small tough.

    This was our first time visiting Michael's Back Door restuarant. It was a wonderful experience. It was a mature crowd; a quiet and pleasant atmosphere. The service was excellent and the food was so good. We need to go back to try more dishes.

    This restaurant hit right down the middle. The food was good, the service was good - nothing was bad nor was anything great! We had two servers and it seemed like they weren't talking to each other as one would take our order and then the other would come over and ask to take our order. We were never told the specials of the day, only came to know of that when the table beside us was told. Mentioned that our visit was for a special occasion when reserving online, no one brought it up at the restaurant. (I bring this up as every other time when using OpenTable, if I put a reason for a visit - we are either greeted with or our server mentions our visit purpose).

    Place is small so a bit of a cramped enviroment. Server was excellent. I ordered a pasta dish which was to contain chicken but ther really wasnèt any real amount of chicken.( disappointing for the price). Nice clean enviroment.

    The food lacked any flavour. We were disappointed with both our appetizer (capers e salad) and mains. The pasta sauce was watery and we had to put chili oil on to have any flavour. The sea bass was fine but the rice and veggies were dry, lacked seasoning and couldn’t be eaten. We won’t be coming back.

    Large portions, better than average but not outstanding food, service friendly but not as good as expected. Server was affable but asked us to pass him dishes, pass out plates, was slow to return to the table, never topped up wine after uncorking and serving the first glass. For a family dinner it was fine, though none of us feels the urge to return.

    Anniversary dinner was excellent and service was top shelf. Michael's back Door is always an excellent dining experience. Free dessert for our anniversary was classy. One suggestion is perhaps to let patrons choose their dessert?

    Food is good but sometimes unexpectedly spicy. Desserts are not worth the $. Service was only ok, waiter did not mention specials/recommendations and forgot to refill water or offer parmesan/pepper on the pasta.
