The waitress was slow. The food took forever to come. It was very expensive for the service. I was expecting way better
Overall the experience at Michael’s was good. However, the one piece that really soured the night was the fact that we were able to watch (on more than one occasion) one of the managers berate the wait/bus staff right in front of us. It distracted us from enjoying our night. There is a way to train or discipline your staff when needed, however demeaning them in front of guests is not be acceptable! I would recommend this steakhouse based on the food and decor, but the ambience and service wasn’t the best considering the circumstances.
Food was delicious as well as the entire dinner. However, we were surprised to see we were charged 9 CAD for the water which we didnt ask for and was not even on the table. We just had a couple of glasses but dont know if the bottle was empty or not and, above all, we just asked for simple still water.
Unfortunaly didnt notice it at the payment, already very expensive. But I invite you to check the bill before paying.
Spectacular dining experience! Top Italian steakhouse in the city of Toronto.
This was our first visit to Michael’s restaurant, and we had a strange experience. The food was excellent, but Christian, our waiter, treated us differently than the other patrons. He was abrupt with us and we felt mostly ignored by him, while he was very attentive to the others. He never told us about the specials ( I overheard another waiter explaining them to another table), failed to bring us an amuse bouche while serving them to other guests, and didn’t ask us once if our meal was okay. We felt like he disliked us for some reason. Everyone else who interacted with us were very pleasant and friendly. I would be reluctant to return in case we encountered this waiter again.
Service and attention to detail was impeccable.
Food was delicious.
Will return again.
This was our first time at Micheal’s on Simcoe and we both Really enjoyed the experience.
We will definitely go back.
I cannot say enough about Michael’s from the customer service to the food, That knowledge of every single person that work at these amazing restaurant, I normally enjoy myself every time I come to this restaurant but this time I think is my favourite meal ever.
Excellent food. Steaks cooked and seasoned to perfection. Service was outstanding. Our waitress was polite, Engaging, and attentive. Where we were sat was the only negative to our evening. I made the reservations a few days on advance, but the hostess ( who was a wee bit rude) had us sat in the bar. It was overly noisy. So loud it was difficult to carry on an intimate conversation.
Great night and our server, Peter, was fantastic! Thank you for making our anniversary special!
Honestly for the prices, I expected better food. The wait staff & service were good. But I wouldn’t go back for the lack of value of the food
We had a spacious booth in the bar area, which was a little noisier than the main dining rooms, but afforded us a convenient view of their entertainer that Saturday evening, a woman solo guitarist with a beautiful voice. My lobster bisque starter was particularly exceptional with nice chunks of the main ingredient and vegetable garnishments presented around the perimeter of the bowl for introduction into the bisque immediately before consuming. It keeps those ingredients from stewing - nice fresh textures and tastes. My PEI tenderloin filet and my wife's halibut were fantastic. Top shelf selection of wines available by the glass, as my wife enjoyed her white and I my red. The contemporary decor and hip vibe are in contrast to the conservatively-dressed staff that serve like you are in traditional fine steakhouse. Michael's is another great reason for us to return to Toronto for another visit.
One of the best dining experiences we’ve ever had. From hostess, server, Sommelier, and owner, we were treated like royalty. Hands down a recommendation for the rest of our lives.
Great! Food was excellent and so was the service. Pricey.
Thanks for making my birthday a great experience, we all loved our steaks !!
Excellent food, fantastic service, unbelievable wine selection and sommelier...a night to remember. Expensive but not pretentious. Excellent find.
Food was divine, but the service was even better! Variety of selections was fantastic. Something for everyone! Look forward to next meal at Michael’s!!
Good service but not quick, you have to wait for quality
Food was great, service was excellent, even got help with the stroller going down and up the stairs
We enjoyed our late night, post theatre dinner very much. We were celebrating an anniversary weekend in Toronto and we would definitely recommend this restaurant and will very likely return someday in the future. Excellent customer service and food!
great steaks, amazing variety. met owner Michael at the end of our meal and the end of the evening, very friendly, family run and suberb service and steak quality.
Very overpriced meal, and I don’t mind paying when the quality is high. Yes it was a good steak, but not $70 good...and to serve it on a plate alone and charge extra for a side dish? That’s just plain tacky. The sommelier decanted a bottle of wine for us (a $99 bottle), but after our first glass the rest just disappeared. Not his fault and he did comp two glasses of a really nice wine in place of that, but for a restaurant to charge what they do, having wine go missing??? The rest of the meal was just OK. Salty and not much else happening flavour wise. Would not return.
Michaels on Simcoe was amazing, we love to dine at 5 star restaurants and this was exceptional service, food, and experience. Family run, don’t miss in Toronto!
Loved it!!!! Highly recommend amazing customer service thank you
This was the perfect spot for a special occasion. Very romantic, delicious food, and outstanding service.
Excellent service and ambiance.
Good Steakhouse. Thanks to the experience of the chef in Italy there is a splendid Mediterranean fusion with Canadian cooking.
Went there for my first time on Sunday, beautiful place, our waitress provided excellent service & the food was amazing !! Definitely recommend !
One of Toronto's great steak houses. Great service, great wine and great food. Top notch.
Very lovely experience, had the most sweetest server.
Thank you for beautiful evening.
Excellent experience! Food, service, ambiance! Thoroughly enjoyed dinner!
Great food. Very very expensive even compared to Jacobs and Harbor. Terrible valet service especially considering it’s the most expensive valet in Toronto
Excellent meal. I had the Lamb and my wife had the scallops. Both were excellent. Our server, Peter, did an outstanding job. Would definitely come back the next time we are in Toronto
By far the best service in the city. Excellent food and ambiance.
Service is excellent here. The food was excellent. Will definitely come back
We went Michael’s for my father’s birthday. The food is amazing, and the live music was good too. The guy who served our table was really nice. And thanks for the kitchen who decorated my farther’s birthday cake! Overall my experience at Michaels was very good but the only thing that I don’t understand is I made the reservation on opentable at 7:30PM, but we still waited for over half hour at the bar. So what’s the point for the reservation?
Excellent food and service....amongst the best in toronto for sure. A very modern setting.
Great service. Food was excellent. We did small plates. Split the pasta lobster gnocchi and Bolognese bother were excellent. Scallops our go to was good , but the Halibut was outstanding. Michael was there mingling with patrons making sure everything was perfect. Really great night
