Big fan of this restaurant. A top fav. Food is excellent, drinks are great, ambience top notch!
Everyone in staff was fantastic! The service was amazing and the food was delicious! Will definitely be back soon with more friends and family!
Our waiter was amazing- cheerful and helpful.
Steaks were a little dry/over-cooked- should have ordered some sauce to go with!
The conversation was a bit loud/echoed.
Great night out- nice atmosphere- will go again!
Wonderful service and great food. It was our first time there and it will be a regular place for us !
Wow! We had the best meal here. Everything was absolutely delicious - hubby had a PEI steak, I had the Potato Gnocchi with Lobster and added fresh shaved truffles - the best! Service was top notch, from the hostess to our waitress to the bartender and we had the opportunity to chat a bit with the chef, too! I would highly recommend Michaels on Simcoe!
They treated us extremely well - we went for our 30th wedding anniversary.
Everything was excellent. Our server was fantastic and on the ball throughout the meal. My only complaint is that the steaks were not seared enough on the outside, for a place that has such great cuts of meat it’s a shame not to cook them perfectly. Overall, though, the food was all fantastic especially the amuse bouche and the bread we started with. Thanks for a great night out.
If you want to try the beef A5 waygu from Japan this place won’t disappoint you but be prepared for the prices. It was easily the best steak I have ever tried in my life. The sides were all very good as well. Would definitely go again.
Sat in bar, very attractive service. good for couples. the steaks are pricy, but overall good experience
I visit Michael’s quite regularly and it’s always exceptional, both the service and the food. I usually order the Wagyu so it’s a little on the pricey side but it’s worth every penny.
This restaurant was fantastic! The service impeccable, food excellent, atmosphere excellent for a date night. Highly recommend.
We had an amazing time at the restaurant. The food was great- very good quality of seafood, pasta and steak.. but most of all, the service was phenomenal.
Amazing experience! Service was very good, and for being a young couple we felt very welcomed. We didn't order apatizers but they still brought us bread and a taste of a dish that the chef made, so we didn't need to! Would highly recommend for a nice dinner.
The food and service were both very good, however the prices are outrageously high.
Had a great time!
Wonderful gourmet dining experience. Several course tasting menu provided an exciting meal. Courses well spaced. Service was professional, attentive and friendly. Relaxed yet vibrant ambience. Special occasion recognized by management and wait staff. Good quality and selection of wines. Delightful evening - take the time to fully appreciate.
One of the best levels of service in the city.
Can’t beat the steak and wine selections.
Micheal will usually show up to your table for a personal greeting. And be sure to try the espresso martini!
Amazing experience, surprised i havent heard of them sooner. Was my wife's birthday, they had sent us complimentary starters from the Chef, which just made the night all that better. Servers were exceptional, if you would ask something or for an recommendation, they knew what to offer right away, amazing. Will be going back again.
Easily one of the best dining experiences I have ever had in my life.
Two friends and I made a last-minute reservation and ambled in on a crisp, fall Saturday evening. The service was impeccable. As soon as our butts collectively hit our chairs, our wonderful waiter, whose name escapes me, was greeting us and offered TWO different kinds of fancy water, after a brief pause he offered tap, to which we responded affirmatively. "Toronto's finest" he said, as he whisked himself away to procure our water. This would be the first of many zingers with which our fine waiter entertained us.
How to begin such a meal at such a place, cocktails of course. Among us, we ordered two manhattans and a dirty martini. While ordering my manhattan on the rocks, I inquired if there might be a single, large ice cube offering of sorts - boy was there. Upon delivery I saw, sitting in a beautiful crystal glass (like for real crystal, this was a HIGH quality glass) with my expertly crafted cocktail, a sizable sphere of ice. Yes, a giant ice ball in my crystal cocktail glass.
Everything that followed was on par with that immaculate opening experience. Our waiter walked us through the menu brilliantly and helped us finalize our order. We split basically everything we ordered which was:
- Steak tartare (this was delectable, they portioned it out for 3 giving us each a place with the steak tartare served inside of an onion ring and topped with an adorable quail egg
- Salad (forget which kind exactly but it was yummy)
- Lobster gnocchi (absolutely delicious, the gnocchi were like tiny edible magical pillows)
- Scallops (perfectly cooked and tender, fresh and flavorful)
- Pasta special (pasta made from scratch in-house, and you could tell, beautiful flavors)
- Prince Edward Island beef tenderloin (melt in your mouth)
- Chocolate lava cake w/ ice cream (should be illegal to have a dessert this good)
- Espresso martinis (I just literally died of happiness at this point)
10/10 the best
This was not my first time here. First of all, the service was almost beyond excellent.
The Lobster Bisque alone makes it worthwhile to come here. My friend and I had the Beef Tenderloin from PEI. The steaks were excellent.
The atmosphere here is upscale but not overwhelming. I really like the fireplace that they have. I am really grateful that they offer free valet parking because it's next to impossible to find a legal spot within walking distance. The valet himself was great as well. Pretty much a perfect night out.
Very inviting from the moment you walk in the decor and lighting are very comforting and calming
Our waiter was very helpful in discussing the menu options and recommendations
The food from the complimentary home made bread and spreads to the fish and steak dishes we had were absolutely delicious cooked to perfection and beautifully presented I would highly recommend Michael's
Excellent service and very tasty food. On the pricey side, but worth it.
Wow! Honestly the best service I’ve had at a restaurant in at least 6 years, probably longer. The food is amazing as well. I strongly encourage anyone to check this place out!
Sneaky about the water
Having had extensive experience entertaining clients and eating out I have to say Michaels left me impressed. The wine list is as deep or shallow as you want. I found good value in a Chilean wine, and the steak has the same range. We opted for the T-Bone for 2. The steak had a lot of flavor, and the homemade pasta was delicious. We sat in the more casual part of the restaurant as they had live entertainment that was excellent. One of the finest restaurants I've been to this year.
Service was a little slow but we were not in a rush, so I didn’t mind. The only thing is I asked for a med well, not med rare porterhouse.
Peter was our server and he was amazing . Made excellent suggestions and provided excellent service , we cannot wait to return
Excellent food. Waiter guided us through course selections and wine choices
Food there is great! People are nice! The atmosphere is good!
The waitress was slow. The food took forever to come. It was very expensive for the service. I was expecting way better
Overall the experience at Michael’s was good. However, the one piece that really soured the night was the fact that we were able to watch (on more than one occasion) one of the managers berate the wait/bus staff right in front of us. It distracted us from enjoying our night. There is a way to train or discipline your staff when needed, however demeaning them in front of guests is not be acceptable! I would recommend this steakhouse based on the food and decor, but the ambience and service wasn’t the best considering the circumstances.
Food was delicious as well as the entire dinner. However, we were surprised to see we were charged 9 CAD for the water which we didnt ask for and was not even on the table. We just had a couple of glasses but dont know if the bottle was empty or not and, above all, we just asked for simple still water.
Unfortunaly didnt notice it at the payment, already very expensive. But I invite you to check the bill before paying.
Spectacular dining experience! Top Italian steakhouse in the city of Toronto.
This was our first visit to Michael’s restaurant, and we had a strange experience. The food was excellent, but Christian, our waiter, treated us differently than the other patrons. He was abrupt with us and we felt mostly ignored by him, while he was very attentive to the others. He never told us about the specials ( I overheard another waiter explaining them to another table), failed to bring us an amuse bouche while serving them to other guests, and didn’t ask us once if our meal was okay. We felt like he disliked us for some reason. Everyone else who interacted with us were very pleasant and friendly. I would be reluctant to return in case we encountered this waiter again.
Service and attention to detail was impeccable.
Food was delicious.
Will return again.
This was our first time at Micheal’s on Simcoe and we both Really enjoyed the experience.
We will definitely go back.
I cannot say enough about Michael’s from the customer service to the food, That knowledge of every single person that work at these amazing restaurant, I normally enjoy myself every time I come to this restaurant but this time I think is my favourite meal ever.
Excellent food. Steaks cooked and seasoned to perfection. Service was outstanding. Our waitress was polite, Engaging, and attentive. Where we were sat was the only negative to our evening. I made the reservations a few days on advance, but the hostess ( who was a wee bit rude) had us sat in the bar. It was overly noisy. So loud it was difficult to carry on an intimate conversation.
