Beautiful romantic atmosphere, piano bar, food fenominal and amazing presentation, service hands down 10++++
Excellent service and WOW, what a steak!!!!
Amazing food , service , without the stuffiness . My most favorite steak place , even in compare to US
Absolut great food. Really nice, fast and funny waiter.
We were in Toronto visiting & looking for something special downtown for four of us on a Sunday night. Michael’s fit the bill!
Although a basement restaurant the decor & fireplace had a modern upscale feel.
Server staff wa excellent & had fun with us
We all had different steaks & cooking levels & everyone was pleased. Wine / cocktails hit mark. Worth the price of an upscale dinner.
There were about 9 tables filled when we were there so my estimate of noise level as low might be the less filled Sunday. Recommend for those looking for upper end steakhouse experience. Am not a fan of dark, classic steakhouses so please consider as reference point
Fabulous summerlicious menu
I loved everything at Michael's except for the fact that it felt like our dinner was really rushed. We got each course right after another with virtually no break in between. I had to ask the waitress to give us a 10min break after our steak before she brought out our desserts. She was very nice about it once I said something, but their timing was definitely off in terms of making us feel like we were being rushed through our dinner. We felt like we couldn't sit there and peacefully enjoy the live music with our dinner.
Their service is unparalleled...the food is unbelievable and the folks operating the restaurant (bar staff all the way to management) made the experience worth every penny. I will for sure take a trip back and would 100% recommend it to strangers and friends alike.
I made a reservation here for Summerlicious to celebrate my fiancé’s 30th birthday. I added a note on my online reservation asking if they can add a candle in his dessert and I was so happy they did! The food was amazing and service was phenomenal! Definitely a great place for a special occasion!
Beautiful amazing resturant. Celebrated my six year anniversary. Everything was perfect.
A usual stop for us. Great variety of steaks and a very complete menu. Good wine list.
Service was excellent and the food was very delicious. Chef gave us a appetizer complimentary it was so tasty and yummy
Great service, great food, fun unique cocktails although super pricey. Will come back for sure
My experience was great the food was very delicious all staff was so polite an respectful and they worked together to keep a good flow when serving our foods and replacing our cutlery after each dish. Only thing I did not like was where I was seated the waiters station was right behind us so their were glass and wines bottle directly behind my wife resulting in waiters walking by frequently I would of preferred a seat somewhere in the back that would of been much quieter and more intimate for me an my wife. Other then that everything was perfect and I would definitely revisit Michael on Simcoe again.
Food, ambience and service are unmatchable anywhere else in the city. The summerlicious menu was absolutely delicious and The female entertainer was incredible tonight. My all time favourite restaurant in Toronto, hands down.
Food is good, buy the steaks is too expensive than it should.
Service is good.
A little bit noisy.
I surprised my boyfriend by making reservations at Michaels on Simcoe for his birthday. We were really impressed by the service, food and overall experience. We had the smoked trout, argula salad, striploin, pinenut tart and cheesecake from the summerlicious menu. We were left licking every last bit from our plates. Yes this restaurant is pricey without the summerlicious menu but the food and service really make up for it. I would definitely recommend this spot.
If you are a wine, whisky or boozie drinker you will have lots to choose from. They have an insane selection presented to you in leather bound books that is quite extensive.
My family and I had an excellent dining experience. Everything from the oysters to salad to steak/pasta was was prepared. The wine list is endless and you could hit any country you wanted. I would definitely come again.
Wow. Amazing Summerlicious meal. Not to be missed.
What a wonderful night to end a perfect birthday 🎁
We were recommended to Michael’s and were thrilled to find it as fabulous as we had been told it would be.
Couldn’t recommend it highly enough and such charming and delightful staff and divine food
Good. Excellent steaks.
Amazing experience, food and service were exceptional! Found it to be too hot, maybe the AC was not working properly. I gave a 4/5 on value as I found the drinks overpriced for the quality, but the food was definitely worth it!
Everything was great except the food. It was very expensive but tasted more like Outback Steakhouse. The ambience and service was great but simply can’t make up for the poor food quality particularly considering we paid about $400 for 2 people.
Service was amazing despite rolling in there lookin casual with flippy floppies on. I’m just glad the meal I got (Steak, 2 sides and 2 glasses of wine) didn’t cost as much as a pair of Jordans. Steak was well cooked. The mashed potatoes had that nice layer of crispy cheese on it. And the spinach was better than what I anticipated. Since there was some time I had to wait, they brought out some delicious focaccia and the most decorated artichoke heart I have ever eaten. Just wanted to eat here because I heard was one of Toronto’s throw downs. I would definitely come back here as this seems like a great date spot if one is willing to splurge.
very clean place, nice environment, great food, fresh aND lovely
Both service and food where amazing !!
One of the top three ideal blends between quiet loungelike conversation and communal dining I have seen in Toronto. Transition is important, from post-business cocktails to bar conversation and then into dinner. Michael's does this well, with of course well-attended and intimate service.
dinning room was very warm. Service was very slow. Foie Gras ordered was portioned vary small.
Overall, I think this place is overpriced for what’s on offer. This was the most expensive meal on my trip and definitely not the best. My starter took nearly 45 minutes to arrive. As I had received neither the wine or anything other than a glass of water after 20 or so minutes, the service brought an amuse bouche of roasted artichoke, which was nice.
I ordered a carpaccio and then a medium rare PEI tenderloin. The carpaccio was excellent and nicely served, I suppose worth the 45 minute wait! The steak I would say was just average. I think came more medium than medium rare. No one checked how it was cooked with me - which is traditionally done in steak restaurant to ensure its to the guests liking. Given the waiting times, I was hungry so ate it anyway. I’d opted for the CAD5 cream of horseradish sauce. Only when it arrived did I realize I was paying CAD5 for horseradish sauce - I.e., the type most places serve like mustard! I suppose the cost was to serve it in a small copper pan!
Then sides of spinach and macaroni and cheese were tasty.
I did not have dessert.
Overall, ok. There will be better places I think. Certainly below what I would have expected for the price, my meal with two glasses of wine was over CAD200 with tip.
Best ambiance in Toronto! Service is 10/10. Best steakhouse I’ve ever been to. Great for families and/or date night.
Visited with a colleague while in town for a convention. Thoroughly enjoyed the menu and extensive wine list. Was not disappointed with the Canadian Cab Franc recommended by the great staff. Highly recommend for anyone visiting Toronto. The octopus appetizer was beyond amazing and lamb ravioli divine.
Great selection of steaks but most importantly they were cooked perfectly. Cooking a rare steak that doesn’t have blood on the plate is an art. Fabulous wine selection, particularly French wines. A oenophile will be happy here.
Everything was great! Stephen the Sommelier was excellent. I would highly recommend his Grappa tutorial!
Amazing food. Great staff and wonderful atmosphere
The surf and Turf was fabulous!! The scallops divine!!
My second trip to this place in 6 weeks - every bite was delicious. I’ve had both the steak (plus accoutrements) and other things on the menu and all are worthwhile. This makes it a great place to go if some people want a fancy steakhouse meal and some just want a delicious, special dinner. Cocktails and wine list are excellent. The service was the best service I’ve had in years, both times.
Best Steak I ever had in my life, very knowledgeable server.
Service was excellent all the way through. Amazing cocktails and win selection. Steak was cooked perfectly. Our server listened to us and remembered everything about our order. They truly try to treat you like Royalty, with even a selection of knives for my partner's Wagyu steak. I let them know it was for her birthday through OpenTable and her cake came out with a chocolate drizzle saying Happy Birthday that was touched by gold leaf. The only issue is it may be hard to go to regular restaurants now. Truly excellent experience.
