Miijidaa Cafe + Bistro Ratings and Reviews
I will list the things I loved in order:
1. Coffee cocktail : it had kahlua and it blew my mind
2. Griddle cake: it’s soft and sweet
3. Ambience and server: warm and pleasant
4. Meat and cheese board: it was okay at first, but the more I ate the more tired of it I got because of the many strong tastes. The toast was too hard for me.
Everything was excellent from food to service. The only issue is whatever machinery (pump maybe) was situated under the floor under our table - constant tremor. I would definitely go back as they have great veggie selection as well as a carnivore menu - I would just request not that specific table.
The staff and atmosphere were only superseded by the quality and creativity of the food.
2nd time at Miijidaa and the only thing difficult about this place is it's spelling. Warm reception, lovely atmosphere, food delicious.
We went straight into main courses, myself with the pesto pizza/green salad, my partner with the bean stew. Both of us thought the food was delicious, promptly served. Attentive (but not overly) wait-staff...shout out to Maris, but everyone is lovely.
Finished with the BlueberryGrunt (not sure who makes up these names) lovely.
This will be one of our regular locations as we come to Guelph several times a year. Thanks for being there.
No points off for the espresso...I'm a coffee snob, drink it straight and wasn't moved. My fault not yours.
We drove 50 minutes and were not disappointed! We arrived almost 30 mins before our reservation and were shown quickly to a seat. The restaurant was warm and cozy on a very blustery evening. The waitress was very friendly and attentive to our needs. The food was incredible, my husband had the Scotch Egg and Green salad and I enjoyed the Potato Pizza, on a crunchy gluten free crust. The wine menu is impressive and well stocked with VQA wine. On another visit I enjoyed the perfectly balanced Ice Wine Lemon Martini, both sweet and tart!
We will be back!
The cornbread is to die for and the pork tortiere was delicious. Good wine, good food, good service. Can’t ask for much more.
Went here for my moms birthday with a group of six adults and two toddlers. Very accommodating for the children. Food was hit or miss. Veggie burger was very bland. Fries were awesome. Kale salad also meh. Had three vegetarians in the group and they were more than happy with the veg options offered.
My mom and I caught up with old family friends and all 4 of us loved it! Great food with a Canadian twist to suit a variety of tastes. There was music playing quietly and the decor and ambiance were warm and welcoming. We will definitely be back!
A resto without a cloak room is too casual to be classy. And classy this place is not. But good value for money, large quantities of decent food, makes this place a repeat.
Casual dining, but for New Year's Eve, service was crowded and scattered. Kitchen also inconsistent in timing. Suspect they are not always so busy. Ambiance, so so, but christmas-y. Too noisy with poor acoustics.
Bison was excellent, pain perdu should be lost, duck confit not macerated enough. Seafood chowder wholesome. Lamb shank vast. Others dishes nondescript.
Wine list poor, but bubbly at midnight nice touch. Too bad already had too much to drink.
Other than NYE visits, have been good value, but pick the middle room in the winter.
We come back every year to their "New Years eve special" as well as dine there on less special occasions. The food has always been top notch and the service is excellent. Not one person at my table had to wait for an empty glass to be filled, or had to wait for our empty dishes to be bussed. Can't say enough good things.
we were there for New Year's Eve
A wonderful special menu everything was terrific and it was great value
I would definitely go back again
Food is excellent and different from the norm. Service is top notch with very friendly staff. Value is a bit in question as things can get rather pricey compared to the mega-chains.
I was expecting much more from this experience. I ordered the potatoe pizza and it was under cooked (raw potatoes) and soggy. Not enjoyable at all. I sent it back and it returned more crispy, but really wasn’t to my satisfaction. The others in my group seemed to enjoy their meals.
I made my reservation online but the restaurant did not have them when we checked in. I did receive an email reminder and this follow up but the restaurant did not have it on file.
Great food & service in a very nice restaurant!
Excellent meal and portion size. Would definitely come again.
We recently tried out Miijidaa, what a terrific experience.
Our server ( a young lady) was professional, helpful and charming.
We decided to take advantage of Miijidaa’s Wednesday “ date “ night options, at a very reasonable price.
The artic char was outstanding, as were our two mains, braised beef cheeks and the stuffed chicken breast.
To compliment the meal, (on the suggestion of the server),we opted for a 1/2 litre of a delicious gamay noir from 13th Street.
Although the restaurant appeared to be at capacity we were pleased with the positioning of the tables which allowed for private conversation.
To complete our experience, as I had mentioned that it was our anniversary we received a gift certificate towards our next visit.
Many thanks for a lovely evening ( I wish I could remember our servers name, she was a gem), we look forward to our return.

Everything was delicious and the service was very good
Table was ready when we arrived. Prompt and attentive service. Salad and goat cheese appetizer were very good. Mains also very good. Nice lively atmosphere. Recommended for a casual night out.
Great spot with top notch food and nice vibe. Menu has terrific variety and kept the vegan and the carnivore happy.
Great service, fantastic food. The date night menu on Wednesday is amazing value!
We three enjoyed our meals and the server was very attentive, friendly, and knowledgable.
I bought gift certificates to share for Christmas, so obviously we'll be back!
Great atmosphere. Pork Tortiere was great. Deep fried pickles were not. Overall very nice.
Great ambiance to the place! Service was superb and the menu was great! If you’re looking for some local beers/wine, this is the place to go!
The tables were all really close together. It felt like we were dining with two other patrons.
It was quite loud (the music) which made it difficult to hear conversations across the table.
Made a reservation and still had to wait 10-15 minutes.
Service was fine.
The food came out so quickly! Great food, great drinks!
Appetizer and mains (duck and seared salmon feature) were great, decent portions and well-priced. The service was excellent. I will definitely go back.
Delicious soups and we loved the Basil Pizza and spinach salad!! Top notch! We will be back!
The restaurant handled our 18 guests at the large table really well. The food all came at once. The service was prompt and friendly. A great long table fit all of us. It was a blast.
Great restaurant we went on Tuesday for burger night. Awesome value. Delicious food. Something for everyone
Love this place. You always know what you're going to get, good food, great service and a wonderful warm atmosphere.
Can't beat it!
The food was great but our service for our table of 8 was INCREDIBLE.
Extremely noisy...couldn't hear any music. Barely heard my date or the wait staff. We wee there at 630pm ..height of dinner service. The food was less than impressive-felt like it was the end of the night. Dregs. French fries lousy quality...lots of dry burned bits +++and tourtiere over cooked ..dry. .tasteless. No meal specials..just
The soup. No beef burger options. Martini tiny. Dessert good.
This was our 2nd visit.....first time was almost a year ago in December. We had the exact same table and the same terrific server Simon. Food was excellent and service superb. The menu is seasonally creative, as are the cocktails. We asked for a quiet table and were not disappointed.
Great dinner!! The waiter was excellent as was the food. Great choices and delicious!!!
Food was tasty and hot. The service was friendly and helpful. All in a beautiful and cozy venue.
Appealing options on the menu (enough to make me want to return!) Very tasty food. Stephanie was very pleasant and had a bright smile. Highly recommend it!
Good food, good service and wonderful all round dining experience.
The food was good. A nice meal before a movie upstairs. Tables a little too close for me. I don't need to hear others conversations. Loved the decor. Service was good.
The service was excellent as was the food. I would highly recommended this restaurant.
Excellent food quality. Healthy options and good selections for a casual night out or lunch.
