One of our favourites in Edmonton. BBQ Squid, Hamachi Collar and lobster roll are our favourite dishes. One of the best sushi restaurants in the city.

Pot of green tea goes well with deep fried tofu and mixed tempura perfectly crunchy and light. For desert choose hot sake with nigiri. My favorites are bene sake, hotate, Toro, ika, chop chop, and ikura with uzura. :)

They gave us a table right away and did not wait too long.

They put us in a private room which was lovely. Our waitress was excellent, very friendly.

Very fast service, very tasty, and our server Kenny was excellent. He had great ha ha as we say. Our visit was for our Anniversary and we enjoyed it a lot. Thankyou.

Love mikados no matter which one we go. Went here for my birthday with my family since it was right by my brother's work. Our server Ken was very personable and professional and the food was outstanding as always.

We went to The Mikado because our grandson wanted sushi for his 18th birthday dinner. They placed us in a private room with a table. Would have been nice to be in one of the rooms where you sit on the floor. But on reflection, the table was a better idea being we had a 3 year old with us. The food was very tasty and well presented. We definitely would go back.

Service as always great; fast and with smile. Consistent good quality of fish and seafood.

Loved the new Bluefin Tuna menu. Everything was fresh and tasted amazing! Can really noticed their efforts/ protocols regarding the pandemic and they help make you feel like you're in a safe environment!

From being seated (we had a reservation) to being served by our lovely waitress (Kiko), and the food itself - our experience at Mikado's Southside was very enjoyable. Our food, as always, was fresh and served fast. Kiko was engaging and friendly. Mikado's is a family favourite.

The food was fantastic. If they have the salmon tartare - get it! If you’re not sure what to have - get the deluxe bento box. You WILL leave with your belly full of wonderfully prepared and super-tasty food!

The food was fantastic and the service was amazing...right from entering the front door throughout the entire meal. We can’t wait to return!

We arrived promptly and everything was great. Two young grandkids enjoyed the food as well.

Definitely a different experience than before Covid but always enjoyable and the food was great too.

We were sat in one of the booths which was nice as we can talk with minimal noise disturbance. They were very conscientious of the cleanliness and Covid situation. Food was absolutely delicious and they worked with my gluten free friend in concocting a meal for her. Can’t wait to go here again!

Service was excellent! I wish I could remember our server’s name, he was very professional and courteous. Overall very good. My family of four ordered a variety of lunch bento boxes. Some aspects were good (sashimi, tempura) but the grilled items had no char, and were drowning in sweet sauces. We felt very neutral about our experience, and if it weren’t for the great service, we would have felt negatively because the food was not worth the money.

Today was my first day to dine in again in this location due to covid19 pandemic restrictions and was mindful of how are things in the restaurant. Ashley was my server. She was cheery, accommodating, especially to my requests, and hospitable. I liked where they had ushered me and made me feel at ease even if I was a solo diner. They allowed me enough time to attend to all of my needs. I enjoyed the entire time from the moment I was greeted upon entry until I left the place. Thank you for a wonderful experience! Keep it up.

We had a fantastic birthday supper!
The food was always coming out quickly, she was always there to fill water and ask about drinks, table was cleared quickly when dishes were empty.
The ladies worked really hard, so polite, had masks on.
The tatami room was great!

There is no question that the southside Mikado is the best location among all their locations in Edmonton. They have the best servers and they have the most experienced kitchen staff. I have been disappointed 100% of the time at the west end location, and their downtown location, while getting better lately again, still has good days and bad days. The south side is consistently enjoyable, and offers up the best dining experience for Japanese food in Edmonton. The tempura is always crispy, light, and delicious. Never greasy. The raw fish is always fresh and expertly cooked and prepared. The cooked dishes are cooked with care and pride in their presentation. I cannot recommend this restaurant enough.
