About Miku Restaurant - Toronto

As the first East Coast location of Vancouver based Aburi Restaurants, Miku Toronto is proud to bring Aburi cuisine to Toronto's waterfront.

We specialize in innovative Aburi Sushi and seafood. Combining traditional Japanese techniques and flavours with fresh, local ingredients, our highly skilled chefs pair each morsel of sushi with a unique house made sauce in order to bring out the rich flavour profile of the fish, and then seal the flavours with a binchotan (oak charcoal)- accompanied flame sear. The result is the secret to Miku's success: sushi with a smoky aroma, umami flavour, and decadent, melt-in-your-mouth texture.

We also offer a variety of seafood entrées, appetizers, as well as seafood platters.

Our menu is best paired with our extensive sake, wine, and cocktail selection.

The food is excellent but very expensive. As a business lunch spot it’s very convenient.

Personally I think the flame seared sushi isn't all that great (which is what they are known for). Stick to regular rolls and apps.

First time at Miku. The food was really, really good. I've been to quite a few sushi restaurants and Miku is really unique. Highly recommend.

Miku was one of my favourite Japanese restaurants. But, service is definitely not as good as before. We waited for about 30 minutes to just get water. It seems that there are many new staff who are not well trained. The restaurant is not full on a Sunday evening. Can't imagine how they handle the load on a Friday or Saturday. A waitress dropped some tableware and almost hit us. Towards the end of our meal, a waitress dropped something on the floor again. Food there is still pretty good. However, I would expect more since it's pretty pricey.

I was few minutes late on my dinner appointment , I called the Resturant to tell them I will be there in few minutes , but someone called me back to "notice" me that they need our table by whatever time, the wording not seems very friendly, The pressure from them is not appreciated, because I'm not going there for fast food. Actually I found it wasn't too busy that night..... plus we were 3 ppl in total.... they are franchise Resturant have a lot of clients, same way, we have tons tons of chooses of where we want to spend $ on ! We won't be back there again!

The Aburi Oshi is the greatest thing to happen to Sushi since rice.

I like their signature sushi, fresh seafood and steak. However, the taste of the food is just okay. By the way, the environment is perfect for date. The problem is that I expected too much on the dessert (green tea cake), turns out that is too sweet, but the first few bites are extraordinary.

Excellent Dining experience last Wednesday evening when my family celebrated our son's University Graduation. Food was SUPERB, everything was freshly made, beautifully presented, tasted delicious and service was warm, friendly and attentive...even the Manager came to our table! We arrived 1.5 hours earlier than our reservation, but they seated us right away..which was GREAT because we were hungry! They thoughtfully created the CONGRATULATIONS message for my son, when they served the Warm Macha Chocolate Fondant for dessert (tasted heavenly)...it was really a pleasant surprise and placed a very nice personal touch to the whole experience as we capped our visit to Miku. It was our 3rd visit and will definitely be coming back again! Thank you so much!

We’ve been to Miku numerous times and have noticed that the hostess would cancel our reservation somehow once we get seated so no Opentable points were awarded to us. It is not the first time.

So we had the miku omkase menu... 1st 2 courses were great then came a piece (more like a slab) of prime rib with some rando grilled veggies....... it was heavy and unnecessary and totally ruined the dinner.... then came sushi... also subpar and to be honest not as fresh as I thought it would be ..... the desserts were great .....
so basically the meat ruined it ..... why? Why was it even there? It's like someone complained that they weren't full after the meal and so they threw it in for good measure
Meh won't come back here again

Really amazing food, ambience and service. Not a fan of the harbourfront area but would come back just for the experience at this restaurant. Very hard to find fault with this place. The only thing that I took issue with was the the 2 hour limit we had. 2 1/2 would be better for dinner. Felt a teensy bit rushed.

Food was good, but server was extremely inattentive. We had to wait almost 30 minutes after telling her we were through for her to bring the check and she kept repeatedly disappearing. She made a good dining experience pretty disappointing.

We pushed our reservation for 15 mins and was told that we only had about an hour and a half to dine because it was Friday and very busy. We told our server we wanted the Kaiseki dinner and was worried that we wouldn't have the time to enjoy it. She was very accommodating and assured we wouldn't be rushed. Our server was knowledgeable and considerate of our personal taste and recommended great drinks to pair along with our dinner. Overall an excellent fine dining experience.

We felt that our server didn't care about us much because we were younger compared to those that were older. The table next to us were older adults and the server went to their table multiple times, we could over hear how much attention he gave to them compared to us. Other than the service, everything else was good. The other servers and hosts were fine and very friendly! It was just our own server being really judgmental.

Nice ambience, great service, but the food is overpriced and over hyped. Perhaps our expectations were too high after reading many reviews, but each dish was just "OK", not "WOW!". We had 6 different dishes and spent almost $200 (including tip) without any alcoholic beverages. Won't return.

We are little bit biased, because we have experienced extraordinary food in LA, Tokyo and Paris. Food at Miku was good, fun and sake list was entertaining enough, but bit over priced for the quality.
We had lunch zen and premium sushi set. Sushi was executed pretty well, except a shrimp. I was not expecting to be served a same old rubbery-boiled shrimp (all you can eat stuff) in this class of the restaurant. Little tapas dishes came a part of zen were little bit above the quality of Kingyo restaurant. (Which is much more casual Japanese joint)
Dessert was the most impressive part. Green tea opera cake was actually nice surprise.
Our waiter was not rude, polite but little bit inattentive.
