Food was extraordinary. Service was slow, but not a problem.
Second time to Miku, and the food and service are still great as usual. The price is high considered the moderate portion.
Everything is excellent.
Although very noisy and a lot of flies
Too expensive to justify. Only worth to go once or twice. The food itself is not too special.

I knew before I went the prices were high, so was expecting to be served something quite spectacular. Was disappointed in this regard. The food was tasty but missing the wow factor that would account for the greatly inflated prices. Service is terrible. None of our empty glasses/beer bottles were removed until I finally made a comment. The waiter did not follow-up on our meals. When we left, none of the hostesses at the reception desk said thankyou or good night.
I expect better when having to spend so much for a nice meal out.
Wonderful meal with fresh fish, unique flavors and beautiful presentation.
Everything was good, the food delicious and the service was very close to us and always happy.
If you want an upscale Japanese restaurant with great ambience and fabulous food, welcome to Miku’s. The food was delishish from start to finish. The Aburi Negiri is a must try.
Food is awesome! Delicious delicious delicious. Friendly servers, great atmosphere! Great cocktails too!
We went for our anniversary dinner and Chai was our server and was fantastic. The ambience, food and service was top notch. Definitely recommend!!
The food was delicious and our waiter was excellent.
Excellent food and sushi. The Aburi sushis were especially phenomenal. Great value for the price. A must try in Vancouver.
This was my second visit to Miku. The food is excellent and service was rather good. I was disappointed in our table though as I had specifically requested a table with a view of the ocean/mountains as it was a special occasion for myself and my friends. Given I had booked the table 3 weeks in advance, I would have expected this request to be accommodated. Disappointed but at least the food & wine were good.
Reputation> the Quality and the Taste of the food. The food to be honest is fair, but nothing outstanding nor special, just didn't worth the fame (we've got many much better ones here in Vancouver)
Because of all the hype around the restaurant being the best I was expecting the best of the best. Yes the service was great, everything was really pretty but the food was a disappointment. It was super oily, they don’t give you soy sauce because their sauce is supposed to be enough. I couldn’t taste the sauce at all when I took a bit into the sushi I could only taste oil. The last thing is the portions I know traditional sushi isn’t big but the size of their sushi was a little tooo small to pay $20 (miku roll)
This was my first time at Miku, although I have been to their sister restaurant Minami. We came for their aburi, which I still believe is the best in the city. However, we found the service and the ambience not worth the price point. As other reviews have noted, the noise level is very high and the service was adequate, though not what you would expect from such a highly rated, and pricey restaurant. Would I return? Possibly, but only for a very special occasion. I can only see myself coming once a year tops. If you haven't come before, it's worth a one-time experience. Be sure to stick with their signature items - the aburi.
A great spot for my first visit- i had a lunch meeting there (4 of us). they were confident in their menu, and soy-sauce free sushi was a first, and it was surprisingly good. Nice views by the window-
My only 'complaint' was locating the restaurant as it was not intuitive from phone maps, however it makes sense once you are there- give yourself a few extra minutes to locate it on your first visit.
Fresh creative and deeply delicious sushi. Had specialty seared salmon with jalapeño with a sweet smoky flavor. Some window seating has too much glare from the sun.
I was very disappointed with my dinner here. I had requested a quiet table with a view, instead I was seated in a back corner with a bad view and next to a wait staff hub. All through my meal I was staring at a building, listening to plates clanking, water running and junior wait staff being noisy. Service was slow and the timing of the aburi course left us waiting 5-10 minutes between courses. It completely ruined the experience of my 10 year anniversary dinner and my $500 meal. I will not be back.
Good but over rated. Excellent service at table. Reception frosty - b/c it’s such a “hot” place?
Much rather go to smaller neighborhood chef owned place.
The food was very creative . It taste divine! Service was good and helpful throughout the selection process. Servings were described. Cost a bit on the high side - not seeing the value.
very expensive. would not recommend the large platter - says it would serve 3 people, but barely served one.
Food took 45 minutes but it was understandable considering how busy it was, just a little frustrating
Wonderful service, delicious food and nice wine but the music was too loud.
Wonderful food! Had the Kaizen experience, and it was completely worth it!
Great views. Server was very helpful. Only the bar bites were available but were excellent. Would definitely come back.
Everything. Was spot on from friendly, knowledgeable service to insanely delicious and creative dishes. I had the sampler platter and the opera dessert and it was all fabulous.
Amazing as always. The food is always above par and the waitstaff attentive. We were lucky enough to see Justin Trudeau a few tables from us.
Juan is the best server!
I came to Vancouver for the weekend and found this restaurant on Google. This restaurant is located in the heart of downtown and it is beautiful. Our meal was amazing, everything was fresh and our pressed rolls were delicious. I will definitely be returning the next time I’m in the city. Our server was awesome and gave us recommendations on things to do in the city.
Service was great, food is always amazing! Salmon Oshi and the green tea opera are my favourite 😍
Very loud but good food
Sushi was incompetent: dry blob of rice under decent fish, seaweed wrapper dry enough it was hard to swallow. Specialty pressed fish is drenched in butter/mayo, so you may not want to make a meal of it.
Delicious food, pricy but high quality for a special occasion. Excellent service, but the noise level was so high (background chatter and music) that we had a lot of trouble understanding the servers and holding a conversation was impossible.
Enjoyed the food and very good services. Staffs are very friendly.
A great contemporary spot. I thought pieces of sushi were very small compared to my favorite sushi restaurant in Chicago. The quality was good. They were nice to accommodate me early since I was able to get on an earlier into Vancouver from Victoria. They did insist that I sit at the bar, despite several small tables being opened for the duration of my meal!!
I always come back for the salmon oshi and aburi chiarshi tart. But both dishes have a lot of rice so it's really filling. I love their lunch over their dinner!
Their sashimi lunch is definitely a bargain. 8 pieces of sashimi, rice, seaweed, miso, bowl of small chunks of sashimi, preserved tomato & cucumber. Their signature salmon sushi oshi is out of this world. An older couple in the next table ordered 20 pieces each on top of some other stuff!
