Amazing food. I had heard about Miku from a few people at work and was finally able to make a reservation and go. Food was divine. We had the summer Kaiseki and the food simply melted in your mouth and triggered a full on party with your tongue. If you’re in Vancouver and want great Japanese/seafood, you must visit Miku. You won’t be disappointed.
The Aburi Sushi is awesome!
I found the good exceptional, truely matches the quality and taste of Japanese cousine including the drinks. I reviewed many restaurants in Japan and this was by far the best outside the country. With that said, the service was very dissapointing.. I scheduled a romantic evening with my partner for a special day. We were treated very poorly as soon as we walked in we werent greeted but immediately questioned about the time and wait. I booked an 8.45pm dinner we cane early knowing it might be busy. Arrived at 7 pm to request earlier seating, was told to come back to the restaurant at 8.15pm, my partner and I sat there... until 9pm. Other parties were also seated before us after our arrival. Once seated we didnt experience anything great. I expected a details of what we will be ordering. My partner and I enjoyed the food, my applause for the chefs and cooks. Lastly.. we waited another 10 mins on the front asking the bar tender who went about his job after my request for coat and bag check... we soon left for a hotel with mixed feelings about this well known restaurant.
Great service fantastic food
The food as good, but nothing unique from any good sushi place and very expensive. Not sure what the big deal is about. They had the normal sushi choices, but no unique rolls or anything like that. It was very loud and hard to have a conversation with your table. The wait staff were awesome and very helpful, the hostess, not so much.
Great for lunch. If you're willing to spend a little extra for quality sushi. This is the place. Also great views of the waterfront
Miku has decent food, for international appetite I guess, since it has included quite a few of innovations into the cuisine that makes them taste not quite like... authentic Japanese food. Salmon sushi is lightly seared but excessively oily and greasy, whereas their traditional sushi is quite like you can get from any other decent restaurant. When I asked for tuna toro sashimi and uni, my favourites, they said they were sold out. That was disappointing and we decided to go somewhere else immediately.
Given this is a quite hot spot for tourists where you have to book long time ahead and would end up getting the food you can find a lot elsewhere, I cannot say I recommend this place.
Best dining experience in years. Try the Kaisen fixed menu for a journey!
The best sushi I have ever had, fantastic service, and delicious cocktails. We loved the salmon Aburi so much we ordered another one. The red tuna and yellowtail were also yummy and tasted very fresh. Can’t wait to go back. I hope it expands into the US!!
Sorry but after I reviewed the internet I thought this has to be the best place in Vancouver with outstanding quality in food.
The location is really great in design and the place on the waterfront and the service are really very good.
Nevertheless the most important thing in a restaurant is the food. I have travelled many countries in the world, but this Sushi is even below average.
I wanted to surprise my family and friend with an outstanding experience and just failed.
Booked 2 weeks in advance for my partner's 29th birthday celebration. Coincidentally, he had to have his drivers license renewed as it expired on his bday, and was issued a temporary copy of his drivers license. That wasn't acceptable apparently and he wasn't able to be served any alcoholic beverages (despite having secondary piece of ID and other forms of photo ID). A bit ridiculous as no one anticipated to bring out their passport for this occasion.
Wait Time: Waiting 15 min for our table despite booking in advance.
Great views, great location, fabulous food!
This was an exceptional evening. We arrived early (4 of 5 people) and planned to have a drink in the bar. The hostess told us that the bar was full but she would be glad to seat us at a table outside until our other guests arrived. Our temporary server was exceptional. When our 5th guest arrived they told us and said our 5 person table was ready and waiting for us. We moved smoothly without touching as much as a napkin! That was our introduction to an evening of great service. We put ourselves totally in the hands of our second server for ordering. She delivered dish after dish of exceptional taste and presentation. We travel the world and eat out often. This was an exceptional evening. It was done perfectly. Miku has earned our highest recommendation.
The aburi prime blew my mind away. Highly recommended! I almost jokingly shed a tears of joy.
Amazing!!!! Best sushi in the world!!!!
Great Dinner celebrating Mum’s Birthday!
Fabulous food and great service. It is a little pricey, but for omakase that is expected. I have often walked past this restaurant and finally decided my girlfriends birthday would be the right occasion to splurge and we're both glad I did. 5 star rating from us and we will return.
It was so good that we had to eat there twice in 2 days! The special salmom aburi with the MIKU sauce is awesome. Though no possibility of eating the wagyu sushi for lunch...
The first time I had aburi sushis. There were amazing! It was so good that we had to go back the following day and have them again.
Excellent food and service was great. It is quite expensive though. But if you want to treat yourself in Vancouver this is a great place to go, you will need to book!
The food and service were great BUT there is NO easy disabled access and when a manager was asked to get an elevator key by the hostess he scoffed. I am in PT for an injury and did about 20 stairs to get in the restaurant but couldn’t do them going down. The elevator is VERY FAR away in another bldg so if you are not to walk much, or can’t, go elsewhere. If you have a wheelchair you can get access but need to call at the bottom of the stairs and have them come take you to another bldg, up the elevator, and over to the restaurant.
Welcoming relatives visiting Vancouver for the first time.
service is rush, not very considerate as a high end place, very hard to reach service. food is okay, Tue 5:30pm and some items are already out
Good food good service
We missed the Oyster shooters !!
Good food and nice environment . Very good for dinner gathering with friends
The server was very friendly and welcoming! The server and other staff had congratulated us on our anniversary and made the whole experience very personable!
Best sushi we’ve EVER had. Period. If you are stopping in the area I would say it’s a must.
Best sushi ever!!!! An amazing experience! Our server Lenny was the best! We can't wait to return.
Wonderful dinner here. Great service and the food is incredible
Great food and sake, beautiful location, noisy
We were there for my friend’s birthday. Everything is good as always. Service was great. Highly recommended
Delicious food as always! We had the kaiseki course and everything looked and tasted awesome.
Amazing food at the amazing restaurant. A must go restaurant in town.
One of the best Japanese restaurants I have eaten at!
Sushi was good, but not great, but the miso cod and desert made up for it.
Fantastic food and service! One of the best Japanese in town!
I had visited after my wedding and had a wonderful experience last year. I booked a dinner reservation for our one year anniversary and were not seated in a romantic spot. We were sat at a larger four person table in the middle of the walkway. We had a great experience a year ago and I was expecting that this time around and it was just not delivered. The food was good but I didn’t leave feeling like it was an celebratory meal.
I live in Calgary and I always eat at Miku every time I visit Vancouver since 2010. The new location with the waterfront view is awesome. Both service and food are excellent there. We're never dissappointed dining at Miku!
Enjoyed the aburi salmon and the bento lunch. Will definitely visit this place again.
