About Miku Restaurant
We specialize in Aburi, or flamed-seared sushi, which was developed nearly a century ago in Japan. The act of applying fire directly and lightly searing sushi enhances the natural flavours and textures of the fish. Miku owner Seigo Nakamura innovated the Aburi concept by crafting specialty sauces using non-traditional Japanese ingredients to pair with each type of fish. The light sear from the binchotan (Japanese bamboo charcoal) then caramelizes the sauce, releasing a smoky aroma and bringing out the finest flavours in each piece of Aburi sushi.
Miku Restaurant is within walking distance from the Pan Pacific Hotel, Canada Place, Fly Over Canada, Cruise Ship Terminals and Sea Bus.
Our entrance is at the corner of Howe Street and Canada Place Way, overlooking the east cruise ship terminal at Canada Place.

Miku Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
Food and service were excellent but its very loud and hard to hear the conversation
I had the Aburi kaseki menu. Clearly this place is for people who do not know japanese food.
I wasn’t a massive fan of the industrial like process that sushi was produced. Sushi orders came with 6 pieces each! This is not a place for great sushi. Omakase is unheard of.
It was ok, but not what I had looked for in “the best sushi BC can offer”.
Random comment - some ingredients were mislabelledz. One dish was promoted as having hedgehog mushrooms. I forage hedgehogs, they were not what was claimed.
We are satisfied with everything we order, especially like the Salmon Oshi Sushi, chopped salad and Miku roll also. We had the window seat and the view is great.
absolutely first class and world class food and presentation!
Wonderful, inventive sushi dishes. Our server was friendly, knowledgeable, helpful, and fun.
This staff and atmosphere is very high end, unfortunately the food is not. We did the "special" chef's course which was not very good and considering the price ($88 Canadian per person for food alone) was not worth it. Nor was the food good. Sushi is so plentiful and good in Vancouver Miku needs to step up its game if it wants to live up to the hype. Until Miku improved the food quality I would recommend anywhere else in Vancouver for sushi.
Great service, good food, lively ambiance. The deep fried prawns were extremely crispy and light. Sushis were decent. I wish I had a bigger apetite to try more dishes.
A must try.
I'm excited i was told they had opened one in Toronto. Can't wait to get gone and try it there.
Hands down one of the better ones.
Thanks for an amazing dinner
excellent service , food similar to minami. Value is good
Waitress was very professional
The food is fantastic, but it is really loud in the restaurant, which is hard when you don't hear well. The Miku Zen lunch came all at once. (It was delicious, as always.) In the past, it came one course at a time. Next time I will request the pacing to be slower. I love the restaurant and view, but wish it was quieter.
Tried to have a nice evening out with my friend but ended up having to near yell across the table all night because of the noise volume of a large table of 8 that was adjacent to our cozy booth. This isn’t the first time this has happened - but the volume of that table last night was pretty outrageous. WHY would you place a huge table smack in the middle of your dining room so that they can disrupt every single other table in the room ? Move that table out to the bar side of the restaurant. Gregarious tables of large groups aren’t very appreciative of the beautiful views. We paid almost $500 for our dinner and drinks and while I love the food - I’ll think twice to do it again as a couple because of the raucous I️ continue to experience on different visits by that large table in the dining room. The restaurant really should have addressed that last night though - it was disruptive to everyone in the dining room.
Service was lacking, significant wait to have cheque brought to the table was awkward and felt forgotten throughout the meal
It was amazing the food was so good. The salmon Oshi was the best sushi I've ever had
Excellent quality of food and beautiful presentstion of food. and excellent service. Wonderful seaview from the restaurant too.
I brought my partner here for our anniversary and our server was an absolute delight! I highly recommend this restaurant.
We visited from Arizona for my 40th birthday. We made reservations to sit by the window and that was the perfect spot in the back., quiet enough to share great conversation. The front of the restaurant was much louder and busy! I’d suggest the back area for special occasion or dates and the front for friend get togethers. The edamame was the good. We ordered a couple of coconut coolers that were great and an espresso martini that was perfect! The calamari was the best I’d ever had just melted in your mouth. Everyone enjoyed their meals, the scallops were great too. The price was a little high for the portion size but quality made up for it. The only complaint was our waitress, she was very friendly and knowledgeable but took her a bit to get drinks and napkins and the check. The ice cream size was a large spoonful FYI! Otherwise great place and I’d suggest it to others.
Even though it was incredibly busy (Saturday night) the wait-staff was incredibly on the ball...the amazing food was promptly presented, as were the drinks, and staff was really good about just letting us be unless it seemed like we might need something. The view of the waterfront was very romantic, and it was fun to watch the boats go by while we enjoyed our fantastic drinks, and food. Everything we had was amazing...the management was fantastic about accommodating our needs regarding food allergies. Seating was very comfortable as well!
Very good but too much Wasabi.. I wish they separate wasabi in a side plate
Wonderful, lovely restaurant, a real gem. Excellent place to bring your clients, your friends, your loved ones and of course all the food fanatics!
The food is perfect especially the sauce of every dish is delicious.
Attentive & knowledgeable staff. Yummy food - great views.
The Aburi Kaiseki was worth every penny. Thanks for making our anniversary date night so memorable!
Excellent restaurant, food, sake, and service. Will visit again next time in Vancouver.
family members didn't like the food
Outstanding place with amazing food. From presentation to taste, everything was perfect. Our waitress, I believe her name is Morgana, did an excellent job welcoming us and making us feel comfortable. I love the setting of the Cocktailbar and the presentation of the drinks.
It was a bit noisy but not too bad. I would come again and again and again....
Really fantastic service. I'd been here a couple times before and wasn't that impressed, but this experience has converted me back to being a fan. Any place that makes Kale (gomae) appetizing is magic. They were really patient with our group, people were late/left/came back. Their sake flight was technically unavailable due to supply, but they were willing to put something custom together for us. Mackerel aburi pressed sushi was fresh and buttery with just the right amount of sauce. Really nice space, beautiful colours at sunset. Also VERY busy, so many reservations.
Food was amazing! Haven't had Japanese cuisine this good in a while! Only downside is that the food was a bit slow, probably because of how busy it was. Would definitely come again next time I visit Van.
Awesome food. Their oshi sushi is superb as usual. First time having the Coal Harbour Platter - everything was so fresh. Would definitely go back again and again.
I was very impressed with everything. I will definitely be going back.
The place was too loud.
Highly recommend the 6 course Kaisen tasting menu, a great variety of incredible seafood and dessert.
Un incontournable pour nous lorsque nous sommes à Vancouver.
Un délice, quel bonheur de manger dans ce restaurant.
Nosu y retournerons lors de notre prochaine visite.
The soba pepperoncino has been and is still my all time favourite, together with the sablefish. Well done.
Went out for a mothers birthday. For dessert, we ordered the green tea opera. They plated the opera cakes on a plate with happy birthday written in chocolate. We thought that was a special touch.
Food was amazing. I had the scallop dish for main course after an appetizer. I am not a big eater - small woman - and the dish came with four scallops and a small amount of lettuce - nothing else. The 'cauliflower puree' was not even edible - it was for decoration. VERY disappointed. It was my birthday and I left starving.
We came here for lunch and had a great time. Everything we tried was phenomenal, and the sake flight paired perfectly with the food.
It was a little too loud for my liking, but everything else was great.
Gordon our server was amazing. Great at recommending and explaining items on the menu. The food was absolutely delicious and the presentation was gorgeous. Can’t wait to go back!
Amazing food, amazing service! Will definitely be back!
