    Total package. Great food and great service. Everyone from the host, to the server, to the manager works as a team, and everyone is knowledgeable about the menu. This place is outstanding!

    When we got there and told the hostess we had a reservation she took us immediately to our table which was already set and waiting for us. The service was prompt and thorough. The food was excellent as always and the place was clean, neat and inviting. We have never been disappointed with Mildreds.

    Mildreds is my go-to place when I have guests or just want a really great dining experience. No other place in Gville comes close. Service and food are always great, and price is very reasonable. Noise level is low - all the boxes checked. Elizabeth

    My 3 friends and I enjoyed a birthday dinner at Mildred's. The okra salad and Mezze appetizers were delicious! I had the scallops which were probably prepared the best way I've ever had (seared). Two really enjoyed the fried fish and the 4th had the ribs and loved them. Of course, dessert is always a treat at Mildred's. We enjoyed the Expresso cake and Coconut cake. Yum!

    My first visit to Mildred’s and I wasn’t disappointed. Excellent neighborhood gem I highly recommend. I was also pleasantly surprised by an impressive wine selection and a large number of homemade desserts. Can’t wait to return.

    6 of us for a 44th wedding anniversary. The happy couple got complimentary champagne! Charcuterie plate, pickled fish, hen, scallops, lamb, mezze salad, crispy okra, cheesecake, mousse bombe, coconut cake choices were ALL delicious. Our server was attentive and easy going. Kept our water glasses full. Did not rush us, though we were the last to leave. (Only thing to change would be large tears in booth seat coverings) Definitely will return!

    My sirloin was bland and overcooked while the Parmesan risotto was very salty. The desserts were overly sweet and one note. This is not what I expected for a $112 dinner for two without drinks. Sadly disappointed. I only wrote this review since I was mislead by the other glowing comments posted.

    We couldn’t eat at this restaurant because they said that it closes at 9 pm and they were too just to notice that there was a reservation for 8:45 pm and make the proper arrangements to serve us. They didn’t have a hostess and couldn’t recommend any other place for us to eat

    This was first visit and booked because of availability on Open Table. The atmosphere was cute and the menu description looked enticing. The three course option price of $35.00 seemed like an amazing deal but the food was very average. Cauliflower Bisque and New York Strip were both decent. Braised Lamb and Pasta dish tasted like some of the items were either frozen or microwave used for preparation. Desserts were very bland and not worth the calories. Sorry! We were disappointed in food quality.

    This was our second visit to Mildred's Big City Food in celebration of our anniversary. I made a reservation on OpenTable in advance and was seated super quickly at a fairly secluded table, which was very nice. Despite being seated somewhat out of the way, our server was very prompt and returned periodically to check on us. She kept us updated about our second bread basket, which arrived nice and warm. Great service! The food was so good! I love how their menu changes frequently. The carrot and cardamom bisque was so tasty (even better with a little bread) and the braised lamb with pumpkin fritters was honestly the best preparation of lamb I've ever had. The strawberry shortcake is my new favorite cake from their offerings (move over, coconut cream cake). Overall, great service, excellent food. The noise was moderate, but that was to be expected. I think it would be really helpful to future diners to know what the 12% service fee is used for. Our server asked us if we were aware that it was on the bill (we were, from our last visit), but I still do not know what it is for. That did make me feel like I needed to rate lower on the value scale, since you don't quite know "what you're getting" regarding the service fee.

    Overall amazing food and service. Can’t wait to go again. Only comment is the cocktails were not my favorite. I enjoy aviations and they didn’t use the luxardo and it was very strong for my taste. My date got the margarita and felt it was not sour enough/too strong as well. However, if you like strong drinks then it’s a good thing. If not, maybe try wine.

    Dinner menu is the only one I know of that changes week to week based on local and seasonal foods. I love knowing when I go that I will be enticed by something fresh, creative and locally sourced. Last night our party of 5 enjoyed a variety of house made pates and pickled veggies, bright salads, and expertly prepared lamb, scallops, and strip steak with perfectly balanced and prepared sides. And you haven't really eaten if you don't try the coconut cream cake for dessert. This would win over the most coconut averse palette. The chocolate mousse bomb is up there too. The service is friendly and professional.

    My wife picked Mildred's while we were driving to Gainesville from up North. The food and service were excellent. We enjoyed their three course special and the price was quite reasonable. We were extremely please by the whole experince and plan to make a habit of stopping in whenever our travels take us through Gainesville.

    The food was uniformly, good, but with the exception of the steak, not at all outstanding. The salad dressing was a bit too vinagry, although the salad was lovely to behold. Desserts were very good.
