Led through an unoccupied restaurant to an upstairs dining hall. Not many patrons. Extremely limited "special" menu. Grocery store dinner rolls. Frank Sinatra showtunes as background music that always got too loud at the end. Overpriced. Felt like a bad dream.

The menu was limited, which I knew ahead of time but it was painfully limited. Four entree choices for adults and two for children. The restaurant had only one large "banquet" room for diners for the evening, on the second floor, and it was in no way intimate or romantic for a Valentines dinner. We were seated right next to the bar and the severs congregated at the bar to socialize until needed...tacky. Food was served quickly and was decent but nothing special. I wouldn't return for a "romantic" dinner if it's going to be held in a banquet room. Millrose missed the mark on romance for Valentine's Day.

We made reservations but restaurant turned out to be ginos east which we like but wanted steaks from millrose. We we escorted upstairs with a limited menu selection they were out of chicken entree. Left confused and hungry

Booked online and we were unaware that the restaurant was closed during the Christmas holidays. The we're only open for Valentine's Day. They had a limited menu that didn't include a beef option. We ended up going to Ginos East that shares space in the building. The experience was very disappointing

The servers were really busy with large groups. The service was a little slow but understandable. They forgot to put in my order in BUT did a great job apologizing and making amends. The food was delicious. I had great company so it turned out to be a great night.

Good food & ambience. A good place to take a date. Waitress was bubbly, friendly, and happy. Front reception was poor - left my date sitting for 15 minutes in the lobby while I was waiting at the table despite having my name registered in the reservation. She was only rescued when I came back down to see what was going on. Stay away from the twice baked potato IMHO.

Waited 35 minutes for our waitress. Manager looked for 10 minute then came to our table and apologized for the waitress was new. Upon leaving another couple said loudly they ordered their food at 6:30pm and still did not have their food at 8am. We will never return to this restaurant again, its too bad because it is a beautiful place

We love Mill Rose Restaurant and sorry to hear that it will be closing on December 25, 2015 to begin remodeling and there is no reopen date scheduled. We hope that they keep the quaintness of the place and don't modernize it.

Friday night out with friends to celebrate our birthdays. Arrived and was told we'd get a window table and ended up inside a corner. Dark. Food choices were limited. Ordered a margarita and was surprised it came in a beer glass. Heard some live music thought that would be fun after dinner. Well we were asked to leave at 9:30 since the restaurant closed. Music was over and the place was dead. Very surprised this is not the place anymore to celebrate.

Food was very good and our waitress was a stitch. I can highly recommend this restaurant for a casual dining experience. I love the atmosphere and if I remember correctly, they have an outdoor patio for dining.

We had high hopes after reading about this in a local magazine at our hotel. The staff was harried, slow and stressed. The food was average. With a little organization, this would be really great. The atmosphere was nice

I had not been to Millrose in quite some time. My last couple of visits there were not very good but it had been a few years. My wife and I were celebrating our anniversary and decided to give it a try again. We are so glad we did! We had a great time. My steak was perfect and every thing else could not have been better. Whatever changes have been made at Millrose is working!

Millrose has good food and service but it's time for remodeling. The decor is the same for at least the last 20 years and it's time to replace carpet, paint and upgrade a bit. We will still go for the food but would like to see improvements in the eating area.

My friend and I arrived one and half hours before our movie began. Millrose is conveniently located just across the street from the movie theater. We were seated right away and waited for our server. Someone brought us bread and water and we munched on that as we waited. 20 minutes later our server finally appears. By then we knew what we'd order and asked for drinks as well. 15 minutes later, we still had no beers and decided to just walk out. We were so disappointed. This is not the Millrose I remember. They did however have a nice outside area and a band playing. I will not be going back.

Well, things are definitely looking up for Millrose. Our previous visit was about 11 months ago and it was underwhelming. Past visits were always enjoyable, and it just didn't measure up. We had a totally different experience this time. We were seated promptly and the hostess even recognized that a gluten allergy was noted on the reservation. Smartly, she paired us with a server who also was gluten-free for over a decade. Lori was super attentive without hovering and was extremely helpful navigating the short but varied menu to avoid allergy issues. Our dishes, prime rib and shrimp de jonghe, were perfectly prepared and tasty. We were seated in the indoor patio which had a nice view, comfortable ambiance and was full of energy with happy diners. Our experience was VERY enjoyable and we both agreed that we would be back again soon.

I was looking for a quiet restaurant to accommodate an elderly parent and was pleasantly surprised with the acoustics, attentive service, the variety, quality and flavor of the dishes. My party ordered duck, prime rib, walleye, lamb and several appetizers. I was prepared for bland dishes, but everything was delicious and the vegetables weren't mushy. I'll definitely go back on a warm evening to dine on their lovely patio and try some new dishes.

Unfortunately we couldn't dine at Milrose. We got a great table outside and it was perfect but when we got the menu there wasn't a single item that was vegetarian friendly. We ended up leaving before we ordered drinks. It was too bad because there outdoor area is great with the fire places and tables.

Our server Nick was very attentive, had a great personality. He even tracked down some blue cheese stuffed olives for my wifes martini. He had the group laughing each time he checked on us and I got the feeling he could have gone home early on a Friday night but elected to stay for us and one other table. Beautifully reclaimed barn with romantic fire places.

, not asking if we wanted a table or not. No view. Next to a table of 9. Food was so so. Asparagus was dried and grilled to a burn. Needed more oil to protect the tips. Tuna was fishy smelling. Wine needed a cooler. Arrived after the bottle was half empty. Water should be brought at beginning of meal. Just thought we'd try the restaurant, since we hadn't been there in a while. No excitement to return.

While the restaurant is getting older it still remains charming and warm feeling. I love the fireplaces and converted barn atmosphere. The food is very good and the wine selection is solid. I hope they're around for years to come.

I'm beginning to question what's going on at Millrose? Little extras are starting to disappear . No relish tray or bread basket while waiting for your ordered food. It seems like cut backs are starting to happen . Not a good sign!

The setting and the service were very good. The restaurant has charm and is a romantic place to take a special date. The food was tasty and cooked to order, but the soup and the vegetables were cold and a bit salty. the waiter took them back to be re-heated, but they were still not hot enough for my liking. I didn't send them back again.

Celebrated husbands 87th birthday at MillRose Sat. night. Been celebrating important events there for many years and always choose MillRose over other restaurants.. The staff in the bar and the restaurant are outstanding. Love eating on the patio in summer and enjoying occasional music.

We have not been to Millrose for several years and were so disappointed. The food was awful. The restaurant looks like it hasn't been cleaned in years. Our table was so wobbly we had to move. Once our server finally got to us the one in training was great, very pleasant and did a great job. The server who was training her acted like we were bothering her and she spilled soup on my chair and purse!!! We will not be returning.

A half empty restaurant on a Saturday night is not a good sign. Maybe people are confused by it? Is it an upscale place, or is it a bar? A pizza place? Maybe it's the store at the entrance with actual grocery carts--perhaps they should tuck them out of site? The staff was very pleasant, although the waitress would disappear; never asked if we cared for another drink. Busboy was wonderful, actually, very attentive. In terms of entrees, it was very expensive for the quality--$18.95 for an overcooked half chicken. $125 tab for four people that would have cost $60 elsewhere. Oh, and quite possibly the worst coffee I have ever tasted. Makes me sad. It's been a few years since we were there last. We'd had a nice meal then, so we took a chance.

Have been coming to Millrose for over 13 years and took my husband out on a Sunday night to celebrate a new job. Was aware that the restaurant recently started serving Gino's East Pizza, but didn't realize that it would impact their menu offerings at the restaurant, as many of our old favorites like the calamari were gone. We kept an open mind and tried their flatbread of the day, with smoked salmon, which was excellent. Unfortunately from there, our meal went downhill. My husband in years past had always gone with their chicken pasta dish, which was gone from the new menu. So he went with the prime rib, which didn't have the taste or appearance of prime rib that he had had at other restaurants like Ruth's Chris. I had ordered the Sunday special and was served the wrong entree. Had a hard time finding our waiter to address the issue (and the restaurant wasn't even crowded). Took another 20 minutes to get the correct entree. Ended up being a 1/2 hour late for our babysitter because of the error and very disappointed that waiter didn't even offer to take money off our bill or even comp a glass of wine for the inconvenience. We had had some very nice meals at Millrose last fall and during the holidays, and for Millrose's sake, we hope our recent experience was an anomaly.

We especially went to this restaurant for the Saturday Duck special, after order was placed at appr. 7:00 PM, the waitress came back and said they had no more, ended up spending more $ on an entrée that was not very good. How can an advertised special every week run out so early? The waitress did not even offer to comp a drink or a dessert - nothing Will not go back to this place, if this is the special weekly they should be prepared to serve their customers
