Located in the vibrant neighbourhood of Yaletown, Minami follows the pioneering footsteps of its sister restaurant, Miku, in delivering the innovative dining experience of Aburi cuisine to Vancouver's thriving food scene. Each piece of sushi is flame-seared using a blowtorch and binchotan (oak charcoal), resulting in sushi with a smoky aroma and a melt-in-your-mouth texture.

    Reservation for eight Kitchen closing at 9, but we weren't informed until 830 Expensive, small portions Many rolls sold in lots of 3 with no option to add another piece ( come on-most tables are two or 4 ) that feels like a purposeful money grab. So many other places to go for similar grade food, with better ambience.

    The sushi was amazing as usual. Service very good. What surprised me was the plastic miso balls with paint chipping off around the rim. For a restaurant of this calibre, surely they can make sure that the miso bowls meet the standard of the restaurant.

    Amazing quality of seafood, super fresh and melts in your mouth. Great value for the price. Good location in the heart of yaletown. Service was ok but it was a busy Friday night.

    We went to Minami for our 40th anniversary. We were greeted and seated promptly. Our server James who is an extremely charming young man greeted us and wished us a happy anniversary. It seemed to me that every employee at the restaurant knew it was our anniversary because we were wished happy anniversary by everyone. James could not have been more attentive. Everything we ordered was absolutely great. Fish was extremely fresh, presentation great, and taste was priceless. And by the way every single employee acted very happy and seemed like they wanted to be there and liked their work. That in turn made all diners feel great. My had is off to the management.

    My husband, daughter and I dined at Minami for the first time and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Our waitress Sayaka was absolutely delightful. The food not only looked spectacular it was delicious. We enjoyed every bite but I have to say the appie Brussels sprouts and the Champagne Roll were my stars. We’ll definitely eat here again!

    Minami: Like no other. This is by far the best dining experience I’ve had in Vancouver and I’m not regretting it a tiny bit. The service was too exceptional from the moment you walk in, when the staff shout in greeting. A better experience than Miku I’d say. We did 1/2 dozen oysters and tried 4oz. A5 wagyu steak with mashed potato and prawns each. Nothing bad to say at all. The Suntory whiskey green pepper veal jus with the Steak was a highly incredible combo. Mango cheesecake for dessert was also delish. Great combo there. Will come back to try more sushi with a Green tea matcha ice cream for dessert. A+
