From the kitchen, seasonal and locally sourced ingredients are integrated into Minami's dishes to reflect Vancouver's diverse flavours. This culinary approach evokes both the passion and beauty of Aburi cuisine, as each dish is artfully plated on custom-designed Arita Yaki plate ware hand picked by owner Seigo Nakamura from the artisan town of Arita, Japan.
Minami Restaurant offers a dynamic space for both dining and entertaining, including two private dining rooms, a seated lounge, hidden garden patio, and sushi bar.

Excellent service and great food.
A very good option if you are looking for Asian food, excellent quality and a delicious taste. The decoration is very clean modern corporate and the service is excellent
The Minami premium Zen is a perfect choice for lunch. So delicious and at a good price. The place is kept tidy and clean and the staff are friendly and courteous. Looking forward to coming back here again!
Our happy hour service was outstanding. Our server Reza? Resa? Not sure how to spell it but she was absolutely lovely. She was fun and attentive and very careful with covid protocols. She ensured that my friend and I had an awesome experience and a fun happy hour!
Definitely coming back, for the food alone I’m loyal and devoted, but every single thing about the experience was 5 stars
Minami is definitely a must-try in Yaletown, however there were some elements which could be improved! Our server was perhaps overloaded but would take a significant amount of time to come visit our table after saying "I'll be right back to assist you". This meant our wine bottle remained unopened and we were uneasy as to if we should open it. Overall however, when attention could be paid to our table, the service was great! I think perhaps giving wait staff smaller sections would let them have the appropriate level of attention to their tables.
Having been to Miku, I expected no less from Minami. Their ebi fritters and chicken nanban were amazing starters; the kanpachi and hamachi nigiri pieces were also extremely fresh.
But of course, the oshizushi is hands down the best here.
Would have scored them a perfect 5, but there were a few other patrons that were a bit noisier. Not Minami’s fault though.
A perfect place for dating. The food is excellent. I had a great time with a cute girl.
it wasn't as good as I had anticipated. There is still room for improvement.
Although we had walked by many times, this was our first visit to Minami. It was fantastic. My partner and I both did the Yaletown tasting menu and we were glad we did. Excellent selection of what the restaurant has to offer especially for our first visit and not being sure about what to get, portion sizes etc. Service was top notch - attentive and good explanations for everything. The set up was very Covid-friendly with plenty of space between tables. We will definitely be back to try it again!
Normally we go to Minami's sister restaurant at Miku but its easier to get a reservation here at Minami. Food and service always good! Never disappoints.
Delicious and very well thought out in terms of plating and style
Never fails to impress me! Service, food and ambiance great as always! Thank you .
Price is like Miku's but taste is nothing compared to it. Disappointed. There's also an annoying insect that kept flying at our table and landed in my drink. Best thing is probably the dessert, but they probably didn't make it in house.
Great fusion food ! Third time there in the past 6 months, and will definitely go again.
Server was very knowledgeable and the sake was so delicious!
food is very good, sevice is excelleent, parking is a problem
Always fresh delicious food
Great restaurant, but the guy waiter was rude on first timer, wants the customer to feel embarass when asking for a soy sauce for the aburi.
Excellent food and service as always!
I had booked my husbands 40th dinner and we had previously been here 5 years ago and really enjoyed it.
Food was good, but sadly not as good as when we previously went.
It was made known that it was for a big birthday, and there was no acknowledgement or anything. Basically get you in to order and call it a day.
It was very good. There were 3 of us and we all thought the food was better than we had anticipated. Definitely go back.
Excellent service and phenomenal food. The best.
The “Taste of Yaletown” lunch option was amazing.
Oshi and blue fin tuna ... omg!
Had the tasting menu which was a delightful experience.
The freshest sashimi and seafood. Excellent sashimi platter for two, delicious Champagne rolls, the Totoro tuna belly sashimi is to die for. Ebi fritters are succulent and fresh. Red wave rolls are yummy. Tofu salad is so healthy! Excellent service! This is why we keep returning!
Visited Minami for the first time during their happy hour and it was amazing. The food quality was extraordinary and the service was fast and friendly. Gorgeous restaurant with an open concept kitchen where you can watch the sushi chefs at work. Their happy hour has some really great deals on food and drinks! A must try in Yaletown!
Very good food and service,
Quite expensive but definitely worth it
Chris was very knowledgeable with the menu, such a wonderful experience, food was delicious!
Amazing food and service!
Such a let down. We were so looking forward to a special experience (food and service), but both were vastly overpriced and overrated.
Lovely experience! The hosts and server were very accommodating and welcoming. Amazing food, and relaxed vibe.
Just visited Minami at 2pm on a Friday and it was a very nice experience overall! Our waiter was great and provided very good service. The food came really quickly and tasted pretty good. For those who are going to go, the general experience is pretty much as it was pre-COVID, minus the crowded atmosphere.
The waiter and waitresses that served us were great. They know the food well.
It was the first visit for us and the food did not disappoint - except for the Ebi Fritters - the batter tasted like corndog batter. It wasn't bad, but in my opinion, the traditional panko breading would have been better. The rest of the experience was stellar. Rizza, our server, was very attentive. It was an overall 5-star experience.
We feel so safe at Minami. The distancing is appreciated. The staff are so careful. And of course, the food is outstanding! I think this is the best sushi I have had.
The music came on too loud at one time and they were hornets flying on the patio
I missed good sushi since I moved from Barcelona to Toronto, finally I found one spot to have hope again!
It’s COVID-19 but table with table are so close.. also is my birthday but there nobody ask me what I was celebrating, that is so disappointed. Anyways, the food is nice and tasty!
