From the kitchen, seasonal and locally sourced ingredients are integrated into Minami's dishes to reflect Vancouver's diverse flavours. This culinary approach evokes both the passion and beauty of Aburi cuisine, as each dish is artfully plated on custom-designed Arita Yaki plate ware hand picked by owner Seigo Nakamura from the artisan town of Arita, Japan.

My favourite place to go in yaletown. Leon the manager is great and Stefan the bartender are always super friendly with some great drinks. They are always welcoming to my and my wife.
Wish they had more rolls. Bring back the Miku roll!
Our server made us feel like he wanted us to hurry since we were the last table for him. But overall good night with good food to celebrate my gfs birthday
We had the 5-course diner, oishii although a little bit adapted to the Canadian palate :) We were barely able to finish the desert. A feast.
Food and service was amazing. Didn't love our table location - I felt like we were in the middle of a server thoroughfare.
The menu has changed significantly for dine in. Service is extremely poor, not attentive, both server and manager was aloof when we brought up the food/dining experience. Manager was very stand off ish. This is not how you treat customers especially during covid when restaurants are dying for business. Will definitely not be returning after this kind of experience.
The chair was damp. Nothing on the table. No water no tableware. Waiter feeling like don’t need to do anything.
Probably the best sushi I’ve had. Quite pricey though! Also wish I had been aware that Minami and Miku are the same restaurant, as we accidentally went to both (and ultimately ordering the same food) thinking they were different establishments.
Thank you, we had a perfect evening and the care of service was outstanding!
Excellent food, and even better service
Minami was my favourite sushi restaurant in Vancouver. This was the first time we went after pandemic and the quality of food and service have gone down. Rice used to be warm but it was pretty cool and the service was almost non existent unless called. Sushi and rolls used to almost melt in your mouth but wasn't the case this time around. And menu has changed as well a bit.
Food and services never ceases to amaze! Pricey but it is worth every $$$.
Was so excited to dine in since the closure due to covid. Salmon oshi and aburi lobster/ scallops were cold. Dissappointing, but still tasty.
Very good food but the service was not so fast because they managed many food take away
Awesome food, great care by servers & hosts. Thoroughly enjoyed.
Good choice for a nice sushi meal in Yaletown. Great service and the food was very good.
Superb as always!
Everything was awesome we will be back soon
Despite the Covid situation, Minami continues to provide top notch service and great food.
We had a lovely dinner on their patio was was quiet and private. Solid measures were followed to ensure physical distancing and customer/staff safety.
Great manager and they always take care of us!
Missed your wonderful food establishment more than you know - third year celebrating a lifelong friends Bday -its a tradition and so happy we were able to keep the annual event going. Thank you to all the wonderful staff at Minami!
Always a great experience at Minami. Staff, food, and drinks are outstanding.
Great place, variety of choices however the sushi rolls have more rice than filling - fish/veggies.
Excellent food and service. Quiet and pleasant outdoor area for dining. Overall very good and highly recommended for high end tasty sushi.
Great service and outstanding food. Welcome back.
In light of the pandemic, it was nice to see Minami re-open with safety measures in place. My partner and I sat in the patio and everything was perfect from the service to the food.
Food delicious as usual. Patio a great place to dine.
Wonderful as always
Good food but exceedingly expensive when compared to the, amount of food served. We had to order additional dishes just to be satiated. The wine too was highly priced for an inexpensive bottle of white wine. Presentation is lovely but if carcasses and flowers cannot be eaten they should not take up most of the room on your plate of a few thin pieces of sashimi. They should be more generous with their fish for the prices charged.
The new spicy edamame is a treat!
The eggplant and red pepper nigiri are new favorites.
Bus service was good. Our primary server was hard to get a hold of.
We came here for a Valentine’s Date and everything was so delicious. We ordered the aburi beef carpaccio, the salmon oshi sushi, the Saba oshi sushi, the ebi oshi sushi, and the champagne roll. I have to say, I was pleasantly surprised by the ebi aburi sushi - the citrus flavour complimented the ebi so well! We also ordered a matcha lemonade and a glass of nichol Pinot Gris white wine. Everything was simply delicious. The service was great too. We always have a wonderful time here and cannot wait to come back!
If you want a fancy sushi restaurant which serves sushi at expensive prices, with a nice ambience, than Minami is a good choice! However if you're looking for value and better tasting/quality sushi then you best venture elsewhere. I would recommend this as a place to try, or a place for a social function not for a place where you want good quality sushi for the price. I say this due to the fact the aburi sushi (top is seared) came to us cold, as if it was sitting there waiting for a server. The sushi rice was also cold, as if it was taken out of a fridge not too long ago. I guess it was my fault for coming here with high expectations as I knew the sushi came with a high price point. The Service however, was great! Very friendly and water glass was constantly topped up and each sushi roll came with an explanation of what it was. However, service can only go so far. I can say I am glad I tried Minami but for the price point I will gladly go to other sushi joints that offer the same if not better sushi at better prices.
Everything is fine just the food servicing is a little bit slow
Didn't really enjoy the flavor of their "famous" salmon roll. Overall, it was a very underwhelming experience, and we left disappointed. Out of all of the meals we had over a week of vacation in Vancouver and Whistler, this was the least favorite.
Minami is the best sushi I’ve had. We are not from Vancouver and when we get the chance to make it up there, we always go to Minami without a question!
Great food and drinks
The food was great, but the restaurant was really noisy
