Located in the vibrant neighbourhood of Yaletown, Minami follows the pioneering footsteps of its sister restaurant, Miku, in delivering the innovative dining experience of Aburi cuisine to Vancouver's thriving food scene. Each piece of sushi is flame-seared using a blowtorch and binchotan (oak charcoal), resulting in sushi with a smoky aroma and a melt-in-your-mouth texture.

    The food was amazing and so was the ambience. Our server however was not. She hurried us through our lunch and made a few errors on the order. For an expensive lunch- we were not able to enjoy the experience

    Third or fourth time back in the last year and still a great date night. Food and ambiance a strong 9.5 out of 10 and service I would give a 9. Will be back again for more of their delicious food.

    Food was excellent. Very attentive service. The only issue we had was the ordering was awkward as we were a table of 6 and we were ordering a la carte for 4 and 2 were ordering individually. There were a lot of little orders, individual nigiri pieces, etc. our server had trouble keeping track because she was not writing the order down. We ended up with dish we never ordered and she missed one item, which was fine we didn’t complain. We would’ve perhaps ordered more food but we didn’t because the ordering was so awkward.

    Great experience at Minami! Beautiful restaurant in Yaletown. Very professional staff and the ambiance is great. We've eaten at the sister restaurant, Miku a few times before. We like this restaurant's ambiance better, although the noise levels inside Minami is on the high side. Next time we'll choose the patio. Now coming to the food. Everything, from the appetizers, to the sushi rolls, main course and dessert, was fresh and tasted fantastic! The presentation was fantastic too. Our server was really pleasant, knowledgeable and helping us choose our dishes. We'll definitely come here again!

    We had a really good experience. Safe to say I ate the best tasting fish of my entire existence there. Also the service was outstanding! Ariel did not measure efforts to make us feel welcomed with our kids.
