The steak and frites were disappointing. I expected a thicker steak and mine looked more like a skirt steak. Bread and butter were outstanding as was the burrata appetizer.

We have long-enjoyed Mon Ami Gabi as a faithful standby, but last night was super messy on several levels and prices have gone up. Felt unreasonably expensive for the experience. Two entrees came and the third, well, didn’t. For a loooong time. We eventually flagged down the waiter, who went to explore, apologized and got it out. Meanwhile, the other two plates were cold. Oh, and the chicken was missing its potatoe purée, which we also had to ask for (and received, after we pointed it out). No acknowledgement on the bill, and it basically wrecked timing for the first two. Also, historically, they’ve let us swap fries for salad in the steak frites and it arrived on the same plate with steak (as frites would have). In this case, we had an up charge and the salad came out in small portions on separate plates with croutons (after asking for none). Steak was completely unappetizing on its own plate, just flopped out. Upshot — ~$200 for a party of three. And we had to largely manage the waitstaff and servers. Super irritating.

Mon Ami Gabi always rates as one of my favorite places to gather with friends in Bethesda. The inside is so "brasserie-authentic." And the outdoor seating is lovely and charming. Mon Ami Gabi never disappoints both in the quality of the menu and in the service. I'll be back, for sure.

Good food, very slow service and very much overpriced for what you get. Prices are high simply because it's a French restaurant and aren't justified. I've eaten here three times with small parties (2-3) and service was always slow, reflecting problems with management and not a particular server. There are better options in the area.

The restaurant was not bad but did not live up to our expectations. My wife had the smoked salmon which was very good. I ordered the oysters which were teeny and not worth the $23. The steak frites au poivre was too heavy on the peppercorns and the big slab of meat became cloying after a while. I could not finish the ridiculous amount of fries. Not exactly a delicate presentation. The wine was excellent and the service was very good.

Visited Mother's Day afternoon. Restaurant was busy, but didn't get in the way of service too much. Everyone pleasant and accommodating. Food might have taken slightly longer to prepare, but I expected a wait. Was surprised the wait was relatively short considering. Ideal dining experience, particularly for a holiday.

We enjoy Mon Ami Gabi but we’re frustrated that a large group that arrived after us was served ahead of us. We waited over an hour for main courses. We appreciated the complimentary beverages the restaurant offered to compensate us.

Enjoyed a birthday brunch sitting outside at a table for two on the side. It was relatively quiet without too many people passing by. Hostess and waiter were very nice and didn't rush us. Eggs Benedict with Salmon was delicious and Frisee Salad with poached egg and bacon was very fresh (could have used some more bacon). Bloody Marys were tasty with our choice of Vodka. Restaurant provided a birthday surprise to end the meal. We come here periodically and the service and food has never let us down.

I don't know where to start. This was an absolutely exceptional experience. The food, the service, the atmosphere, was all outstanding. I had the Escargot and steak au poivre with green beans. Others had steak, and other vegetables, we had a few different desserts. They were all outstanding. As for service, I am a real stickler about everyone being served at the same time, and the delivery was flawless. This was certainly one of the best dining experiences that I've had in a very very long time.

The food was delicious! The service was a little lacking, but in the waiter’s defense, the restaurant was very busy while we were there. There was no following up to see if we needed anything else. However, a lovely birthday cake was brought to my friend celebrating her birthday, which was very nice. The weather was beautiful so we sat outside, it was quite noisy, but may not have been as noisy inside the restaurant. Overall, it was a lovely experience.

Food was excellent. We have been here many times and the food is always very good. Unfortunately, the service this time was awful. We waited over 15 minutes until I called a waiter over and said no one had waited on us. Finally a waiter came over but after taking our order never checked on us until we asked for the check. Overall I would go again. It’s a nice French restaurant with good food and nice ambiance.
