Mon Ami Gabi - Reston

Had a great time as always. Food was really good. Service felt a bit disjointed but nothing major.
Very good lunch at great value. Also, excellent french bread!!
Excellent service and great food. Terrific spot for lunch or dinner
The Reston Towne Center location of this national chain never disappoints. The food is consistently tasty and well presented. If there is any sort of problem with a food delay, the way it's cooked or just anything the management is quickly on top of the problem assuring that each patron is happy.
Food was fine. Waiter was not fine at all. He either was drunk (smelled like it) or not capable of doing his job. Was forgetting us, our food and drinks.
I have bee to this restaurant before. It is a very good restaurant, but this time was a bit disappointed.
The menu listed Duck Confit and Brussels Sprouts. I ordered it as I really wanted Brussels Sprouts and said so to our waiter. He brought out squash instead. When I pointed the error out to the waiter and manager, they said I must have had an old menu because they don’t pair Brussels sprouts with the Duck anymore. They made no effort to apologize or make amends.
Frustrating experience at Mon Ami Reston. Our server was "friendly" but slow and far too intrusive. I'm not there to build a relationship with a waiter. Then our food order was wrong. And in waiting for the other dish to be corrected ( cold salmon plate) my eggs got cold. No compensation. Finally, it took us forever to pay the bill. Waiter kept saying he would be back to take our cards - which were sitting on the table for at least 10 mins. Very frustrating experience.
The food and drinks were good and I would go back for my next special day.
The food at Mon Ami has been a great value. Service has been fantastic. We eat there at least 2-4 times a month.
Great food, excellent ambient and value.
Good food. Expensive. People letting their children run around the restaurant boggles my mind. Luckily, the family left halfway through our meal so we could then enjoy ourselves.
Great experience , we had visitors from Australia and were very pleased , thank you
We all enjoyed Mother’s Day Dinner very much.
Had reservations at 4:00pm, our table was ready for us on time.
It was a very relaxed atmosphere, they didn’t rush us.
The food was spectacular.
The service was excellent.
We will definitely return.
We had a lovely Mother's Day brunch at Mon Ami — great food and very nice service (very attentive, especially appreciated on such a busy day!).
Our server was attentive, but not intrusive, the food was delicious, overall a fantastic experience. Would go again in a heartbeat!
Great Mother’s Day treat for brunch. Manager Willy and wait staff are the best. I am a long time patron,
( since they opened here in Reston, Va.) and this place has always gotten better over the years.
The food and service was excellent! I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who enjoys good and affordable food.
Satisfied my cravings for French food— having lived in Paris for a few years, it’s obviously not comparable or that authentic (the escargot for example doesn’t come with the snail shell & could use a little more garlic, and the duck confit is only served as an appetizer instead of an entrée and they have their own twist on the sauce) but overall it does the job and it’s better than no French food at all. Service could be better, our server was a little too familiar/ informal even for a bistro-style Parisian cafe type of service & I was frequently caught off guard by what he was saying or how he would just drop plates on the table— although perhaps he’s just new. It’s really affordable and we ordered multiple plates of items on the menu and it still came at a reasonable price. Overall, it was a decent experience and I wouldn’t mind coming back again.
Overall the meal was very good. Unfortunately our service was mediocre. The staff was rushed, not attentive and disengaged. Another issue was the support staff. Granted our table was in the middle of the room, however, the staff hit the backs of our chairs frequently and made it very uncomfortable. The restaurant didn’t meet expectations for a $400 meal for two.
This is our go-to place for incredible food. Most of our special occasions are celebrated here.
Had a great time as usual
We were seated in the back room which had absolutely no ambience. When the waitress took our drink orders, I was told that mine was not available and that the menu was an old one. I asked for a new one and was told there wasn’t one. I told them I needed a bit more time. At the same time my son had dropped a knife and asked for a new one. 6 minutes later she returns to take our dinner order, I stop her and ask for my drink order. She takes both drink and dinner order. No knife was brought. She returns telling me they did not have my drink chilled and it would be a bit more time. Up to this time our chairs had been bumped three times with waiters apologizing with each bump. They brought our soup and a knife. Then a waiter behind me, while clearing a table let a knife slide off a plate and down my back. I removed the knife from between myself and the chair. The waiter did not inform me I had someone else’s dinner remains on my shoulder and my daughter had to wipe it off me as we left. I was only half way through my soup when dinner arrived. Another apology. Then while we were eating, the waitress mistook my wife’s mixed drink as her water glass and started filling her half drunk drink with water. Another apology. We counted seven apologies for seven separate incidents. Who is to blame? The managers for packing a room to tight with tables, being more interested in flipping tables then giving a fine dining experience, and for over working a staff. Funny thing is the staff was nothing but nice and apologetic. Never did see a manager. There are to many good restaurants in the area to even think of going back again.
We had an awesome meal at Mon Ami Gabi! Got in during the weekend brunch time, but we all opted to order something from the dinner menu. We got a private room (there were 7 of us in our party - we didn’t request the room so it was definitely a pleasant surprise). The food was excellent; the service was a bit slow but it was still overall a pleasant experience.
Excellent service and food! The escargot is always perfection
Everything was on par except for the service. The bill was $110 for my wife and I, we ordered two appetizers and split an entree. 3rd time dining there within two weeks. It felt like we were forgotten about for most of the night, the two prior visits were great though. Must’ve just gotten the wrong waiter.
We loved the experience we really wanted to recapture the feeling of Paris and our evening on the patio was amazing.
We always have an enjoyable meal at the restaurant. The service is top notch and the food great. I would have given Overall and Food 5 stars, but some of the dishes were not quite as good as they should have been. Maybe it is because the other dishes were outstanding?
Food was surprisingly just ok. I make a better bernaise and can grill my on steak for a quarter of the price.
Why only male waiters?
Tables on top of each other, too. Our neighbors’ conversation sounded like our own.
First experience at Mon Ami Gabi - will definitely recommend and return!
As always great food, service and ambiance.
I got the 3 petite fillet medium and one came out over cooked. The other 2 were good. That was really the only negative.
Great food and good wine selections. Outstanding service!
Always love coming here but this time wasn’t as great. The server was missing most of the time and then made plenty of excuses. My quiche was burnt around the crust but still edible, didn’t look like the quality this restaurant usually has. Very late on bringing my friend her drink which she ordered before i got there. We had to wait and ask for service so we could order since it was taking so long.
Enjoyed the evening. Parking at Reston town center is such a trial, that I would describe it as the biggest barrier to going again.
The waiter, Doug, was super nice and friendly. We had the Croque Madame and it was the most delicious one we've ever tasted, and we've had plenty before and in France too! It wasn't smothered in sauce and you could taste every delicious bit of it. Desserts were pretty sweet too (pun intended)! Next time we're in the area, we'll definitely stop by!
Service was slow, orders came incomplete
They were very helpful to my large party & made sure the person in my party with severe allergies could safely eat!
We have eaten at MonAmie Gabi for Easter and Mother’s Day for two years and it has a fun and yet classy flare. We were not disappointed this year. Our waitress was cheerful, helpful, efficient, and more than responsive! The salmon salad and French onion soup were just delicious and our guests really enjoyed their quiche Lorraine. A manager came to check in with us just as we were finishing, inquiring about how our meal was and was happy to take a group picture for us. I could go on... but Mon Amie Gabi made a great impression on Easter Sunday at 1:00. Thank you. We’ll be back. 💑
Hermann, our waiter was charming, friendly and a seasoned professional. He was quite relaxed and welcoming on what was clearly a busy holiday. The craft cocktail, gin fever that I had was tasty and a work of Art. The artichoke and spinach benedict and ham and cheese omelette were plentiful and tasty. No room for dessert, but from previous experience, the profiteroles are top notch! Pleasant experience.
