I arrived earlier than my time, surprised that the restaurant was not even 50% occupied. I was seated immediately even to wait for my companion, whereas online reservation indicated there was no space at that time! They explained abt the allocation of online reservations but there should be a method of getting around this in order to accommodate guests and maximize your seating capacity.
We keep returning because the food is so unique and delicious. We love how one can have a conversation here, yet music is upbeat and modern.
We were celebrating our anniversary, we had an early reservation. Our waiter was in training I think, had another waiter following him. My wife’s fish was not cooked my steak was so so. Great rhubarb desert had happy anniversary in chocolate on plate. I asked for an Irish coffee got a cup of coffee and a shot of jamieson. Bill was $200. Dissapointed.
The food was amazing! The ambiance was relaxing. Our server Lyla was friendly, professional, efficient and helpful. We will be back! Cheers
Came for a birthday celebration, and it was just perfect. The albacore tuna to start was divine, also tried the kale salad that was quite flavourful. All entrees were impeccable (vegetables lasagne, pickerel), but the family style served steak was unanimously a hit, perfectly cooked med rare with a beautiful spread of potatoes and mushrooms. The little touches were the best - printed menus with a personal celebratory message, wonderful service - highly recommended!
The restaurant has a stylish look, had a suitable noise level for business lunch, and I think I might have eaten the tastiest burger I’ve ever had. Very impressed.
Had a recent business dinner there and the food was fantastic and the staff were great!. They did a great job accommodating a colleague's special dietary restrictions. Looking forward to going back soon
Our best meal while visiting Toronto, and we had some good ones! Service was excellent and it’s so nice to see the servers excited when describing menu options. Everyone at the table ordered a different entree and we all were thrilled with our choices. Five “ happy plates” went back to the kitchen when we were through. Unfortunately, we were all too stuffed to have dessert, and they sounded incredible.
We chose this restaurant for the 5 pm Friday special - half price champagne and $1 oysters. The champagne deal turned out to apply only to genuine champers, so at half price ti was still way too expensive. We settled for some tasty prosecco instead.
The oysters, however, were said to be superb by my connoisseur husband, freshly shucked and nicely served with some sauces. My husband would have appreciated some bread with them but contented himself with some off my plate. I am not into oysters so I had a tasty starter of cured duck, kind of like prosciutto, with some interesting salad items and fresh peas.
Our mains were Lake Erie pickerel, which was properly cooked and came with seasonal vegetables and fingerling potatoes, which were forgotten initially.
Service was friendly and generally up to standard, although our waitress had to go and check if the fish was still available, did not know the price of the bubbly, and took away the wine list far too quickly.
There is quite a nice patio along the north side of the restaurant adjoining Adelaide Street. They were wasting electricity by leaving the door open to the patio all the time so the air conditioning was continually leaking out on a very hot afternoon.
We were belatedly celebrating Fathers' Day. Most other diners appeared to be couples on dates.
Worth a repeat visit sometime.
Very disapointing. The food was mediocre.
The wine selection was poor.
The martinis were unprofessional.
Had the lamb shoulder sandwich for lunch, it was virtually inedible. The meat was loaded with fat and some charred pieces that couldn’t be chewed. The restaurant was beautifully decorated and our server was very good except that when I complained she tried to justify why the lamb was fatty
Food is great. Unfortunately, service isn’t.
The ambiance of the restaurant is great. Our server was extremely kind and checked up on my partner and I quite often to make sure we had everything we needed. I personally wish there were more options to offer on the menu!
All the food was really good and we had a nice time. I enjoyed the ambiance but my friend said he felt a little like we were in a hotel lobby which he didn’t love but over all I would recommend it
We went to Montecito before going to the theatre. They were very accommodating to our time situation. Our meal was excellent. The kale salad was perfect to share. I had the vegetable lasagne that was outstanding and my husband had a fish dish that he enjoyed. The service was attentive but not overly so. We had an enjoyable meal and evening and would go back again.
Eclectic menu, cleverly presented. We we enjoyed every bite.
Booked a table and sat outside, enjoyed a delicious well-priced salad with unique ingredients and had great service. I would definitely return.
Fabulous food and great service!
Host was very accommodating in changing our table. Excellent signature dish of roasted whole trout.
Great service. It was our date night with dinner and a show. Our server asked if we were attending a show and planned our timing of when to serve our orders. Very considerate.
We shared rainbow trout, which was absolutely phenomenal!
It is our second visit to the restaurant, this was post theatre and last time for family brunch upstairs. Both times the experience was very enjoyable and we will continue coming back.
Food was very good but $4 for plain bread plus $5 for optional butter or oil seemed excessive. Good and reasonably priced wine by the glass.
The service was friendly, low key and attentive. The server's knowledge of the food and food source was helpful. Wine choice was good and the food was great - perfect serving size for lunch; aroma and appearance were appetizing. I would definitely have future business lunches here.
Service was mediocre. Forgot my wife half of her order, didn't bring butter for pancakes and when asked for it, they brought it too late. Didn't ask to refill drinks. Food was good.
We had a business meal there for a dozen clients. It was amazing. We asked the restaurant to put the meal together for us based on the kinds of things we might like and they mixed and matched from the menu and paired some great wines with the meal (on site sommelier!). The ambience is really nice with a bit of an homage to Ivan Reitman films and shows (he is an owner). I would highly recommend this restaurant!
The food was phenomenal, but service was a bit spotty. Had a newer server who probably could of used some hands-on support, but she was lovely otherwise.
Sign says "Oysters" on the way in - but they're just for the bar patrons!
Hint: Get more oysters!
The rest was really good, though. We'll go back for sure.
Good food, we think, but a service disaster. Had tickets to a play so were on a schedule (told them this when we made the reservation, when we arrived that evening, also told the server). Received 1 app to share and our wine. Despite requests, mains were very late, arrived as we had to leave, too late to eat. Mains came off our bill, but a half-hearted response by the manager. Very disappointing
The duck breast was overly hard and chewy
Wonderful food and ambiance . Definitely would return.
Excellent mostly. My steak was a bit tough but everything else was delicious
Service was slow, food was disappointing, med rare burgers were well done, rare tuna over cooked, pulled chicken salad was ordinary and maybe 2 ounces chicken. Manager seemed unconcerned about our 45 minute wait for main courses.
Great food, the service was slow, but it was a Tuesday
Dessert wasnt good, was like 3 timbits on plate
I was honestly disappointed. There were no table settings, just a napkin, fork and knife. The waitress was nice but barely waited for us to finish our requests before walking off and got it wrong three times. One, she brought bottled water when we asked for ice water; two, she forgot the milk and sugar for tea; three, there was pork in the omelette when we requested it to be removed.
The buffet (mother’s day) was half empty. I didn’t get any oysters. Went up twice and there was no one there and I couldn’t bother complaining. There weren’t any healthy vegetarian options (everything slathered in creamy dressing). I did enjoy the desserts but unfortunately that was not enough to make up for all that went wrong.
Just not a good dining experience overall.
It was a good time went for oysters but it was too busy, they had an amazing staff but they didnt have enough. Food was great as well as the accommodations!
The bar area is really great but the 2 men (MANAGERS) that were dressed in the black suits were rude and obnoxious. They just bossed the already busy waitresses around and at one point one of the men made our waitress leave the floor and she did not return.
The restaurant should really look at who they have as managers because it will drive your customers away!!!
The ambience was nice, but the food was so-so
Had a group of 6. The waitstaff were very accommodating. The food and wine list was excellent. Only minor complaint is one of the desserts was very sour and we were not apprised of this ahead of time.
Two of four dinners arrived cold -one was remade, one reheated making it (fish) rubbery. No follow up if second version was better. And - having half your party eat while you wait ruins the atmosphere.
To say sorry for cold meals we were offered one free desert - beignets were selected. Tim Bits are much better and a tenth their price.
Wine by the glass or bottle is incredibly expensive. Cheapest bottles on list not in stock.
One nice touch - the menu was personalized wishing my wife a happy birthday.
