Had a nice evening overall. Went to bar before. Was 180 Thurs 50% off wine so ordered wine but would have appreciated if server had let us know only 2 wines applied and not the ones we ordered. Too late when I asked. Does not say this on website or the menu. Chicken, pork chop, steak dinners all good. Chicken and pork chop huge. Enough for 2. Substitutions only allowed with some items. Server was great, very helpful.
5 out of 6 of us have allergies which were handled very professionally by all staff & the kitchen
Love the food, great service.
Would recommend this restaurant highly.
A great experience start to finish. I was called the day before to confirm my reservation and ask about any food sensitivities or mobility issues. We arrived early and were accommodated by seating us early. The menu was personalized with a “Happy Anniversary “ printed on the front. The staff asked if we were going to the theatre after dinner and made sure that our service was adjusted so that we could be at the theatre on time. The food was fantastic and the wine list is great! I will definitely return and highly recommend it to anyone.
Went for Kath’s birthday. Everything was of high quality. Absolutely delicious.
We told our server we had a show to get to, but this did not seem to make any difference to our server. I ordered the duck breast and it needed more flavour. We all wanted coffee but ran out of time. On a good note two of our group ordered the pork chop and loved it.
Amazing place for food, friends & atmosphere!! Great for celebrating any occasion or for a special date night. Great wine list and service. Called ahead with our special occasion and they printed it on all of our menus. Definitely recommend this dining experience to anyone.
We had a total of three servers taking care of us and they went above and beyond! Food was great. Half price was wine was excellent! We ended up giving a 50% tip! 😁
We attending this restuarant for their Thanksgiving prefix menu. It was absolutely amazing till the last spot. The kale salad exceeded its recommendations.
With kitchen renos underway, there was no other choice but a restaurant dinner for Thanksgiving. It was fantastic! The food was absolutely delicious and the service was great. I’d certainly recommend this restaurant.
Great food & great service! Nothing on the menu will disappoint!
From start to finish it was bad first drinks took 30 minutes and were not correct, they brought me a gin martini with a twist no one ordered that, very slow service , the food flavours were all off some could not even eat it. Pretty room but never again!
Wonderful anniversary celebration with my sister and her husband. Outstanding champagne.
Great food, great ambience, and very accommodating staff. Half of our party arrived late, kitchen about to close, and the amazing staff made sure we were well fed without making us feel rushed. Despite some High maintenance dietary restrictions Within some of our party, Staff made sure food was prepared perfectly. Our out-of-town guests were very impressed. I would definitely recommend this restaurant.
The hostess' were amazing, servers were extremely knowledgable on the food. Food is locally sourced and menu changes with the season. Meals are unique, and delicious. Made specialized menu's for my friend's birthday (we didn't request this) which was the most kind touch - On the front of the menu it said "Happy Birthday Chelsea". Highly recommend.
Montecito never-ever disappoints. The menu is always fresh and full of farm to table Ontario excellence. The service is next level personal with a crazy amount of attention to detail. Their GM, Heather, bends over backward to make sure your experience is memorable and on top of it all she is an amazing Somm so your wine experience is always outstanding!
We chose this restaurant because it was close to The Royal Alexandra Theatre ..matinee at 1:30. We arrived at the restaurant at 11:45 to allow ample time for lunch. Our orders were taken at noon but at 12:45 when we complained we were told by the waiter that because one of the orders was a medium well hamburger, it takes longer. We finally got our food . The kale salad was good, the hamburger was awful, and the pizzas were burnt. Although a beautifully decorated environment my recommendation would be to stay away.
Went for a birthday dinner. Spacious place and lovely décor that slightly changes between the front bar, dinning room, patio, and upstairs lounge. No real complaints with anything one would look for in a restaurant experience (i.e. service, noise, ambience, food). It is a fairly pricy establishment, but without being pretentious. We sampled all the food and drink (i.e. apps, mains, dessert, cocktails, sangria pitchers, etc.), and all was very enjoyable, but not memorable. Menu changes more often as it is centered around a local/seasonal initiative. Went on a Monday, so it was quiet, but I imagine it would be a good location to people watch on a Thursday-Sunday (or during TIFF!). Great location (King St. West) and I think a welcomed member to the Toronto restaurant scene. In summary: I would go back.
We were served by Gaelan who was wonderful, and really took the time to converse with us! The wait time between apps and entree was a bit long but that may have been because we took our time with the apps.
Beautiful, sophisticated, modern interior design with a spunky film-buff flare, and a very warm ambiance. Loved the variety of booth, bench, high top, chair, bar, event space seating etc. The restaurant has way more room than you'd expect from the outside, it was a really nice surprise!
I live in the neighbourhood and will DEFINITELY be back for the food, atmosphere and drinks. This would make for a really fantastic date night spot, group birthday, family dinner or business meeting. A really impressive range.
Excellent place. Beautiful ambiance, incredible food, and amazing & very tentative staff. Would recommend to family and friends.
It was pretty good. We had a main server and then someone who was training and they kept double teaming us. One would offer dessert and then 5 seconds later the other would come up to us and offer dessert. Overall great food but just not the vibe I was looking for on that particular night
We loved the kale salad, would definitely come back for salad. It was very big as an appetizer, shared it between 3 of us and we all had 2nd servings. Fritatta was ok, not what i was expecting. It stuck to the skillet and was not as fluffy as most brunch places we've been to.
This is one of our go to restaurants in the city. After watching a film @ TIFF, we went for a birthday dinner. As always the food, service and atmosphere were excellent. I would highly recommend Montecito.
A great place to eat with good food and atmosphere.
We had a great waitress and sommelier! Food....hit and miss. Forgo island cod was great. Pork chop was so fatty. You were lucky to get two bites of actual meat. Sorbet was absolutely terrible - all four order were not edible!
Great Oyster deal on Fridays & delicious Pastas.
Shortly after dining at Montecito one of us became seriously ill that required an ambulance and and taken to emergency hospital. After contacting Montecito on two separate days to advise them of what had occurred, we were advised on both occasions that the General Manager would call us back. It has been a week since then and no one from this restaurant has contacted us. Truly disappointed as to the way this was handled and a terrible way to do business and treat your patrons. We will never return.
The Kale salad is the best thing on the menu and the pizza is great too! We also had the schnitzel, pulled chicken salad and gnocchi and they were nothing special.
It is around the corner from Prince of Wales and Royal Alexandra Theatres. Perfect place for a pre-theatre nosh. Plus, was able to park underneath.
A great theatre location.
Excellent evening as always. My friend and I have made this our standard spot.
Only complaint is that the bar (our preferred area) was reserved for a TIFF event, so we had to move to the restaurant and they wouldn't give us the "Wine Wednesdays" discount there!
For me, as a single woman traveler, it is one of the best places to . Great food, lovely and attentive wait staff, cozy, warm atmosphere. I would eat there every time I visit.
Service was excellent. Pork Wiener schnitzel was undercooked and sent back. It was replaced without any trouble. Would go back there.
Montecito was one of our favourite restaurants before our experience with the Sunday brunch. The brunch which featured a good variety of salads, meats and seafood did not appeal to one of my friends who was expecting more breakfast fare. The alternatives offered were pancakes or an omelet. She ordered the former. One whole grain single pancake arrived too cold to melt the butter on top. When asked by the server if the pancake was satisfactory, my friend replied that it was not. Although the server offered to bring her an omelet, no alternate choice was offered nor was any effort made to recompense my friend. She did not enjoy her $39 plus tax and tip pancake. Even the dessert table was a disappointment. What appeared to be a caramel mousse with chocolate shavings on top was virtually tasteless.
Although the rest of us did enjoy the buffet, there should have been worthy options for my friend.
We have been here several times and it never disappoints. This time it was for brunch before a show during TIFF week. Although we prefer their dinner and lunch menu the food was still of high quality
Amazing service and friendly staff...the food was delicious as always!
No servers to help us - 3 different people to take care of us and took a while to get drinks.
Meal was great and so was the service. Best dining experience I have had in a while.
This was during tiff. Food was good but extremely slow. We were there for two hours and had to gulp down our food to get to the movie on time. Had to take part of our meal to go.
We visited this restaurant on a quiet evening and a bit late; it has a nice menu and its location downtown allows a fun sidewalk dining option. Very friendly and attentive staff; very glad we found this place
The food was excellent and the service was amazing. I love that the menu changes with the season but the Montecito potatoes are always available and a must have with any meal!
