Probably the yummiest cake I’ve every had! Super yummy and healthy food !
In Toronto for a visit and Montecito was perfect! Great food and drink options for my boyfriend and myself (a vegetarian).
Service is slow. App was served and cleared. Had to ask the server about our main. 1 friggin hour. Until the main was brought to table.
Not recommending or going back
We were attending 'Come from Away'. I found the staff very attentive to the fact that we needed to be serviced and on our way in order to get to the theatre, but somehow we didn't feel rushed! Very pleasant experience.
Wonderful service and delicious starter! Just a heads up that the menu has changed and differs slightly from the one on OpenTable. Tried the cod for main which was delicious on its own however swimming in a bowl of vinegarrette and vinegar pickled vegetables. Unsurprisingly the dish was unbearably acidic and left the mouth burning! The worst part is there was NO mention of anything pickled or vinegary with the cod in the menu.
Booked for a quick bite before the theatre. Advised the server and she made sure we were out in plenty of time. Went with my nephew who has many allergies and the kitchen was very accommodating. Had the kale salad - EXCELLENT and I don't even like kale - and the spicy salami pizza. It was enough food for 2 and so delicious. Pizza wasn't spicy to me - just favourful. Decor was interesting, comfortable and dynamic. (literally). Would definitely recommend.
fantastic as always - excellent food and the amazing Kale Salad!
This was my third visit. I was disappointed with the food, and the cost was too high
They messed up my dinner and then told me they would correct it but charged me for both!! Should've been a decent review but tough experience with that matter
Bar service very slow despite being only customers. Drinks not great. Dinner was ok. Our side courses brought out after we finished our mains. Service was average. Restaurant was very quiet. Was hoping for a better vibe. Would not go ba k.
My husband and I celebrated our birthdays here before attending a theatre performance. The food was excellent and we were equally impressed by the staff who paid attention to details like allergies, noting our celebration, and minor things like wiping our table between courses/noting theatre time/carrying sharp knifes in boxes to the table, etc
Disappointed the Proseco was served in a wine glass. Air conditioning wasn't working...ceiling over bar was leaking. Best Pork chop I ever had!
Good was pretty good. The food took over an hour to arrive and we had a show to go to. One person ordered the fish and all the vegetables were pickled. I’m not sure how many people would like a full plate of pickled vegetables.
Last performance with our theatre group for the season.
The lengthy time it took us to get our food (they were slammed with a stagette brunch upstairs) was made up for by the quality and the warmth of the staff.
The space is dramatic and beautiful. The cocktail list shows imagination, and the wine list displays both solid choices and a sense of humour. Our table ordered the kale salad, and even between three adults, we couldn't finish it. It's delicious, though, and I would order it again if I went with a group. I had the steak tartare (be warned: it's heavy on the Dijon mustard) and the cod, which was perfectly cooked. Both things were tasty.
On the list of things that need improvement were slightly shaky service (drink order mix-up, some creepy hovering, no wine refills from our bottle), and the bathrooms. Individual gender-neutral spaces are appreciated, but they need to have stocked, functioning, soap dispensers.
Overall, this restaurant is a good option in the downtown core if you want something a little special in terms of food and drink, and you're willing to pay for it.
Fantastic experience- food, service and atomosphere were all exceptional. We will come back every time we’re in Toronto. Thank you!
Went there for a pre-theatre dinner. Staff asked about our timing at the start which was great. Wonderful food and atmosphere.
I had a special celebration and service was ultra slow . Which is disappointing because you have high hopes for a nice evening. They remedied in giving us extra sides and adjusting the bill . We did gave a very nice evening though . I have been there a few times before and will definitely be back .
Loved the restaurant. We went there like many prior to seeing a show.
The food was great, would love it if there were a few more vegetarian options but the Spring Vegetable Lasagna was really good.
Was a little uncomfortable from a humidity standpoint, but for Torontonians it';s likely not an issue.
This is a very cool restaurant! The decor is fantastic. Elegant and whimsical with a movie theme that I shall leave as a surprise. Excellent service from beginning to end. The food is fantastic AND local. Can’t be beat! Will return. :)
We had an awesome meal for my Dad's birthday. Did family style with the aged ribeye. Really great atmosphere the wine was exceptional. The service was a bit confusing as our server changed three times during the meal with no real interaction or help with the menu. Overall lovely meal we love this place.
Great restaurant, great food. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a wonderful dining experience.
Amazing cocktails, service and food. Our mains were a bit delayed but many apologies were made and complimentary wine was poured. The dish I wanted was not available but they were willing to make another dish vegetarian for me and it was very good. Overall a great dining experience. Thank you.
All was fine except the length of time we waited for our food. We arrived with a 2 hour window to get to the theater. Our drinks arrived quickly. We ordered the shared Appie Platter and dinner at the same time. our appies came in 10 minutes. 50 minutes later our dinner arrived. Staff were apologetic, but others who had arrived later were served much earlier. We had to pay our bill as we were eating dinner, then rush out the door. Staff provided a complimentary glass of wine to us, but it was disappointing to have to eat so quickly when we had given ourselves 2 hours for a 2 course dinner.
I arrived earlier than my time, surprised that the restaurant was not even 50% occupied. I was seated immediately even to wait for my companion, whereas online reservation indicated there was no space at that time! They explained abt the allocation of online reservations but there should be a method of getting around this in order to accommodate guests and maximize your seating capacity.
We keep returning because the food is so unique and delicious. We love how one can have a conversation here, yet music is upbeat and modern.
We were celebrating our anniversary, we had an early reservation. Our waiter was in training I think, had another waiter following him. My wife’s fish was not cooked my steak was so so. Great rhubarb desert had happy anniversary in chocolate on plate. I asked for an Irish coffee got a cup of coffee and a shot of jamieson. Bill was $200. Dissapointed.
The food was amazing! The ambiance was relaxing. Our server Lyla was friendly, professional, efficient and helpful. We will be back! Cheers
Came for a birthday celebration, and it was just perfect. The albacore tuna to start was divine, also tried the kale salad that was quite flavourful. All entrees were impeccable (vegetables lasagne, pickerel), but the family style served steak was unanimously a hit, perfectly cooked med rare with a beautiful spread of potatoes and mushrooms. The little touches were the best - printed menus with a personal celebratory message, wonderful service - highly recommended!
The restaurant has a stylish look, had a suitable noise level for business lunch, and I think I might have eaten the tastiest burger I’ve ever had. Very impressed.
Had a recent business dinner there and the food was fantastic and the staff were great!. They did a great job accommodating a colleague's special dietary restrictions. Looking forward to going back soon
Our best meal while visiting Toronto, and we had some good ones! Service was excellent and it’s so nice to see the servers excited when describing menu options. Everyone at the table ordered a different entree and we all were thrilled with our choices. Five “ happy plates” went back to the kitchen when we were through. Unfortunately, we were all too stuffed to have dessert, and they sounded incredible.
We chose this restaurant for the 5 pm Friday special - half price champagne and $1 oysters. The champagne deal turned out to apply only to genuine champers, so at half price ti was still way too expensive. We settled for some tasty prosecco instead.
The oysters, however, were said to be superb by my connoisseur husband, freshly shucked and nicely served with some sauces. My husband would have appreciated some bread with them but contented himself with some off my plate. I am not into oysters so I had a tasty starter of cured duck, kind of like prosciutto, with some interesting salad items and fresh peas.
Our mains were Lake Erie pickerel, which was properly cooked and came with seasonal vegetables and fingerling potatoes, which were forgotten initially.
Service was friendly and generally up to standard, although our waitress had to go and check if the fish was still available, did not know the price of the bubbly, and took away the wine list far too quickly.
There is quite a nice patio along the north side of the restaurant adjoining Adelaide Street. They were wasting electricity by leaving the door open to the patio all the time so the air conditioning was continually leaking out on a very hot afternoon.
We were belatedly celebrating Fathers' Day. Most other diners appeared to be couples on dates.
Worth a repeat visit sometime.
Very disapointing. The food was mediocre.
The wine selection was poor.
The martinis were unprofessional.
Had the lamb shoulder sandwich for lunch, it was virtually inedible. The meat was loaded with fat and some charred pieces that couldn’t be chewed. The restaurant was beautifully decorated and our server was very good except that when I complained she tried to justify why the lamb was fatty
Food is great. Unfortunately, service isn’t.
The ambiance of the restaurant is great. Our server was extremely kind and checked up on my partner and I quite often to make sure we had everything we needed. I personally wish there were more options to offer on the menu!
All the food was really good and we had a nice time. I enjoyed the ambiance but my friend said he felt a little like we were in a hotel lobby which he didn’t love but over all I would recommend it
We went to Montecito before going to the theatre. They were very accommodating to our time situation. Our meal was excellent. The kale salad was perfect to share. I had the vegetable lasagne that was outstanding and my husband had a fish dish that he enjoyed. The service was attentive but not overly so. We had an enjoyable meal and evening and would go back again.
