We took advantage of the restaurant week special. We had the filet, mushroom risotto, pear and prosciutto salad, caprese & burrata salad. Dessert was the key lime pie and chocolate mousse. Everything was delicious. The bottle of rose’ we selected was the perfect compliment to our meal. Service and ambiance was delightful.

Without question, this beautiful restaurant is one of the best kept secrets in the world of Washington restaurants. The quality of their food never ceases to amaze me. Their wine selections, while not as expansive as some other restaurants, are extremely high quality. One member of our party was on a special diet and requested a salad that wasn't on the menu. They didn't blink. They served it exactly as she requested. The rack of lamb that I enjoyed was prepared to perfection. The Morrison-Clark Restaurant's Tiramisu, the dessert that comes in a million different varieties, was one of the best I've had, including many in Italy! I look forward to returning soon.

Wonderful dinner. Service was great. Only complaint is that for just my husband and I they included 20% gratuity to our bill AND then also an area to add a tip. Thought that was odd and presumptuous for just two people.

This is such a hidden gem! I don’t know how I didn’t know about this place before, but we had to put together a last minute breakfast for 8 people and they were absolutely lovely about helping us. We had a gorgeous little private room in the back of the restaurant and the staff couldn’t have been nicer.

We were staying at the Morrison-Clark and looking at late dinner. The menu and reviews looked good, so we decided to try the hotel restaurant. Despite the late hour and thinly populated dining room, the meal was impressive. The menu is fairly classic, with well-presented, fresh ingredients. The wine list is short but varied, and very moderately priced. Our server, Sylvia, and bartender Mary were successfully holding down the whole place (upstairs restaurant plus lobby bar) with their friendly and professional service. The formal setting and decor gave the entire meal a sense of elegance and character.

We chose Morrison-Clark for our Valentine's Day dinner. A pre-set menu but with delicious choices. He chose the corn chowder - nice texture, good flavor, with potatoes and crab. I had the prawns - perfectly seasoned and cooked. The accompanying light salad was nice too. He had the tenderloin which melted with every bite. The potato fritters were crispy on the outside, and warm and a bit gooey inside. The scallops were nicely browned and sweet; the risotto was really good. A lot of flavor and just the right amount of cheese. I could have eaten a large bowl of it on its own as a meal. To top our meal, he go the chocolate mousse cake and I got the creme brulee. The creme brulee was as it should be, velvety, not too sweet, and the crunchy sugar top. The chocolate mousse was rich, but not too sweet either. Both had ripe berries, none too tart. Good portions too. Service was good though our waiter forgot to serve dessert (until we pointed it out when he gave us the bill). Ambiance is light and not stuffy. It is a small dining room but high ceilings. The price for the meal was reasonable. They have valet parking too. Cost is no different than other restaurants in the area. We want to visit again but not on Valentine's Day to try other dishes. Try it, you won't be disappointed.

We dined on Saturday evening 14 March and the dining room was empty BUT, the food, service, atmosphere, and drinks were still all top shelf. Two visiting friends from NY complimented on the elegance of the dining room and were overwhelmed with the quality of the food and the impeccable service. As DC residents we patronize this fine restaurant and have never experienced any reduction in quality or service.

I made a reservation for dinner at the last minute when my boss let me know he'd be available for a meal and was looking for somewhere walkable from our hotel, and Morrison-Clark worked out very well. It is more upscale than I was expecting so we were a little under-dressed, but it wasn't an issue. The food (we both ordered the salmon entree) was EXCELLENT, and the prices were very reasonable by District standards. I would definitely return, and I know that my boss really enjoyed it and plans to return, as well.

Had a surprisingly wonderful 2.5 hour brunch at the Morrison Clark Inn restaurant. It was elegant, quiet and delicious too with wonderful service. I highly recommend taking the time if you want a peaceful place to dine.

We went out for dinner based on a recommendation from a friend. It was very quiet. We were the only ones there for a while and then a group of 6 came in. The food was mixed, with the crab cake entre being a little iffy. The salad and baked brie were good and the service was excellent. The prices were very reasonable for a nice sit-down restaurant in DC.

Morrison-Clark is a gem. Crab cake sandwich has no filler...just crab! What a treat. Great place to have a quiet lunch. Valet parking was at no charge since we were eating at the restaurant. Service is wonderful and unobtrusive. I have only good things to say about Morrison-Clark.

We went for restaurant week. The selection was good. I had coconut shrimp as an appetizer and a Morrison Clark burger, topped off by chocolate truffle cake with raspberry sorbet. The food was delicious! My companion had. Caesar salad and the salmon. The food presented well and was scrumptious! The service was solicitous. I would definitely go back to try the rest of the menu.

NYE dinner was very nice. The food was delicious. We had crab dip as an appetizer. Yummy. I had the shrimp and grits and my daughter had pork tenderloins. Both very tasty. The drinks were expensive $12 each and our choices for dessert were not available. That’s 2 desserts out of about 5. Disappointing. Service was very good - they seem to use the team approach to serving. Will go again.

I thought the vegan option tasted like someone dumped a can of beans in a bowl. The caprese salad was great. My husband's meat dish was mediocre. There was very quiet music playing, almost inaudible and it was New Year's Eve and the atmosphere really lacking. There were no specials on the menu.

Oh dear. We had high hopes. We had Christmas Day dinner with a prix fixe menu. The waitstaff person did not arrive at our table for quite a while, but once there, service was timely and smooth. I would guess that there were not enough waitstaff on duty. Appetizers and rolls were fine. We both had the fish entree crusted with nuts (hazelnuts?), and it was overcooked. The nuts were quite browned and the whole item was tasteless. The white fish itself was so overcooked that it went to fish mush in our mouths. Having done that myself years ago, I know what I'm talking about. I would guess that it was pre-cooked and cut into portions to be heated again as needed. The dessert was a slice of a torte with a little scoop of ice cream beside and was quite nice. Cocktails were great and wine list was fine.

This was an exquisite holiday dining experience by Morrison Clark. I have dined there many times before and took advantage of dining there Christmas day with my two adult children. Everything was perfect and the staff at the restaurant made it special. Hopefully this dining experience will happen again next Christmas day.

This restaurant is elegant and warm an quiet - just right if you want to have a conversation. While I di not like the clam chowder (watery, tasted like a mix) the rest of the meal was great and my lunch mates were all satisfied with their choices. I give this restaurant a 5 - because the overall experience was so great. I've already booked a table at this restaurant twice!
