Nando Milano Trattoria
Executive Chef/brother Alessio Vullo and restaurant namesake Nando (a dignified Italian dachshund) complete the restaurant family. Chef Alessio holds the Vullo family secrets, instructing the team every morning in making fresh pasta, breads, and desserts to the highest Italian standards.
We hope you will stop in and experience our cozy Italian world.
Love, Dario and Amy (owners)
The food took a long time to arrive so that was disappointing.
I came here with my friend and I was amazed. Food is great, service great. This one of few places in Chicago that actually sells truffle pasta. And they have limoncello that is made in house can you imagine that??? Definitely coming back. That's how a real Italian food should taste like!!! I recommend, just try it and you will not regret.
The gnocchi was amazing as was the homemade bread. Great service and nice atmosphere.
Great service! Excellent food and staff
I had the pleasure to dine at Nando's and i have to admit that i had a lot of expectations from this restaurant. Everything went beyond .. The atmosphere is absolutely stunning. Cozy place in the heart of the hottest area of Chicago. What surprised me was the attention to details. All the courses came on time and the presentation of the plates was absolutely great . Dining at Nando is for sure an experience you don't want to miss. Italian authentic with a notable wine list . The service was accurate and at the same time Friendly . Looking forward for my next dinner there.
Nando Milano is my favorite restaurant in all of Chicago. The staff is superb and the food is to die for! I always go to Nando when family or friends are in town, as I love taking them there for the great food and atmosphere!
Can’t wait to come back! Lived in the neighborhood for 2 years now & this was my first experience
Wonderful service, patient, helpful, and yet not in-your-face. I felt like we could take all the time in the world, and that would be fine - and yet I never had to wait when I needed help or attention.
The food was delicious, I really enjoyed the lobster pasta. My dining companions enjoyed their meals as well.
The drinks were delicious. It's nice to find a place that actually has Lillet behind the bar - better still that makes a drink that really uses it well.
The tiramisu was different, but still delicious.
We really love Nando Milano Trattoria. The food is truly authentic Italian - no chicken parm with mostaccoli here! All pasta is handmade, wine options are great, and the desserts are to die for. Especially the panna cotta.
And while this is definitely not an authentic Italian dish, the Caesar salad is the best. Caesar. Ever. Everrrrrrrrr.
Was okay nothing special on the food couldn't hold the sage on a dish and couldn't change the potatoes to something else.
It was a wonderful time and the food was outstanding and our waitress was great! Had a fantastic time! :)
The food was great and the service was good. The experience wasn’t as great as the last time we were there. The waiter we had before was engaged with the menu vs just taking our order.
Really liked the menu and the food we had was very good. My friend ordered the fish special and it showed up with different veggies than what was stated. When we pointed this out to the waiter, he gave us each a glass of wine for the mistake. A great way to handle a minor mistake. Would definitely go back.
Last minute reservation for 8:30 on a Saturday, it was crowded but not overly. Food was excellent, service was even better. One of our new favorite Italian places in the city. Had the special fish Sea Bass stuffed with Lobster and it was perfect. Look forward to coming back and trying some of the pasta dishes
This is one of my favorite restaurants in Chicago. I have been twice now, and I will continue going back. Sonia is an amazing service and so knowledgable about the menu. As a gluten free diner, it can be difficult to find italian restuarants with options. Nando Milano is wonderful for allergy needs.
Great food and ambience. The owner made us feel at home and we cannot wait to go back. The lobster and crab ravioli was excellent.
Went for restaurant week after viewing menu online and excited and had already picked out my choices. When we arrived it was a different menu with 3 courses (not 4cas advertised) and the dishes I had wanted were not on it. Seafood lovers would LOVE, but I don’t eat seafood so options were limited if doing pre-fix. (So sad gnocchi was taken off)
-desserts were awesome (don’t have full choice from menu) cannoli were some of the best I’ve ever had! Table also had gelato and tiramisu which were excellent
-appetizers- recommend arancini and burrata salad
- entrees- ok, options we wanted taken off menu
- would go again and try regular menu. Authentic and good quality meal
I would’ve liked for my husbands birthday to be celebrated. I did specify the occasion on my reservation but due to the night being busy, I understood. The food and service was excellent. We will be returning very soon.
Super disappointed, especially in the service, which by the end of the meal was nonexistent. Long, long waits in between courses. Sat us at cramped table right by door. Not impressed.
Great neighborhood Italian place! We went for the first time during restaurant week. Our server was friendly and knowledgeable about the wine and dinner menu. Great for a date or casual dinner, but the place is actually a lot smaller than I was expecting! If you want to make sure you don't have to wait, I would make a reservation even on a week night.
Not our 1st visit or our last. This is a charming, local establishment with delicious food. Some favorites are the arancini, calamari fritti, pizzaccia, and gnocchi. Yum!
We enjoyed Nando Milano so much. My husband and I agree it might be the best Italian restaurant we've been to in Chicago. The food is very authentic, and much attention is paid to detail in the recipes the chef has developed. Service is very friendly, though a little slow, although we came on a very busy Monday night during Restaurant Week - so we'll excuse the minor delays. The room is small, and seating is very tight. But the food makes it all worth it.
Went here for Restaurant Week. While the food was good, the restaurant pulled the classic bait and switch. The Restaurant Week menu that was posted online showed a 4 course meal, with various options from each course to choose from. When we got to the restaurant the chef had combined two courses into one which was disappointing and made the “deal” not as appealing. Food was good, but again the deal we were expecting didn’t happen.
Great food and wonderful hospitality. Love their cocktail selection and wide range of wines to choose from.
Great food, wonderful service. We’ll definitely be back.
Great vibe, great food, and great people. Luca was a fantastic host. Looking forward to another trip back.
Our experience last night was wonderful! The food was better than expected. So delicious! Our server, Sonia, was great! She had great food recommendations and wine knowledge. Definitely worth going to. We will be back.
Luca the GM and maître d’ is pure joy. On the advice of friends we let him provide us with dishes of his choosing, and he did not disappoint! The octopus appetizer was maybe one of our favorite dishes of the night, not to be missed. Luca was sure to tell us the history of each dish, and from what area in Italy the dish originated from. We started in Souther Italy, traveled North, then all the way back down to Sicily. Pistachio pana cotta was excellent finish to the meal. We did not have one, but the cannoli at the next table looked amazing also. There is so much love for food and culture here. Not to be missed!
The food here was great! In the past we have been to Formato's and Sabatino's and this food was every bit as good. It is hard to compare because Nando's has items on their menu I have never seen anywhere else. We ordered family style, which was a really good idea because we each got to sample each item. Waiter was great. The owner is obviously proud of his place.
Reservation is a must. One of those places I definitely want to go to again.
This was some of the best Italian food we have ever had. It was such a charming restaurant and the handmade pasta as delicious. Many Italian restaurants will give you too much food that is too heavily salted ... at Nando Milano everything was in perfect proportion. We can't wait to go back.
Nando Milano is a great restaurant. Their food is delicious and the ambiance will make you feel like you're sitting at a quaint restaurant in Milan. The dining room is small and if you sit near the door you'll be blasted by cold air in the winter months, so definitely make a request for another table if you don't plan on wearing your coat during dinner.
Great spot for lovely meal with friends or family!
Outstanding and very authentic northern Italian food. Staff is friendly and thoughtful. Really great overall night out for dinner.
noisy, slow service, waited hour for entre, which came out at room temperature
Great little restaurant with excellent food & service. Very enjoyable!
One of my favorites. The food flavors are wonderful and the staff is helpful and fun. Always look forward to my next visit.
Absolutely outstanding experience for my wife and I. We were greeted with the utmost respect and we were promptly seated and met with the specials, wine list, and menus.
Food was ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS.
Never disappoints. Food is amazing. Best Italian food in Chicago. Luca and his staff are outstanding.
This is truly a neighborhood gem. We’ve been dining here for several years, and the food and service is always amazing.
Nice that it was open on Christmas eve. Worse part was an half hour wait for a very small grilled octopus appetizer that allowed four people a small taste for $20+. Dinner entrees were good and more fairly priced. Small space that was extremely packed and noisy, perhaps because it was one of the few places open on the holiday.
Outstanding! Fantastic food and great service, in a great little restaurant.
