Point Grey/UBC Restaurants

Great food and service. Only downside is the near deafening music which was also tuneless and hard to listen to. Got in the way of conversations. Not sure why the restaurant wants that to be part of their vibe.

We had a great experience at Joe Fortes. Everything was great, but the service was spectacular: I misread the menu and ordered a dish with an ingredient I didn’t like. Upon noticing this, and even though I made it clear it was my fault, Spencer our amazing waiter proactively offered to have another dish prepared immediately. I declined out of politeness, but even so, they not only didn’t charge for the dish, but also added a complimentary dessert. When we left, we stopped by the bar where the staff regaled us with stories of the owner and regulars… Just go, you’ll have a great time!

Haley provided outstanding service and the restaurant is now one of our favs in Vancouver!

Food was great as usual. Did not expect the brussel sprout driving to be that much, but no problem with that. Oshi and Miku rolls were delicious, and so was the otoro. I think Zed was our server (according to our receipt). Tall gentleman from the island; very nice guy and great service. He offered soy sauce at the beginning of the night which was a nice touch for once because from previous experiences, it seemed that my servers seemed a little hesitant/judgy when I once asked.

The service was fantastic. Knew when to be present and when not to be. It's so rare for service to find that happy medium of not making their guest wait and not being a bother. Tonight was perfect.
