- KKathyCalifornia Central Coast •17 reviews5.0Dined 2 days agoArrived for 5:30 dinner reservation and was promptly seated amidst a noisy, happy, bustling restaurant. Our server was excellent and reminded us of their happy hour specials and we gladly tried a half dozen raw oysters with our half price happy hour drinks. Delivered promptly. We ordered a beet salad which was full of delicious beets and crispy cold salad. Server returned in time to make sure we got one more happy hour drink to have with our trout almandine. I highly recommend that you try this restaurant for the excellent food and service. Happy hour is every day, so if you don’t have time for a meal be sure you stop by.More infoLukePrice: Moderate• French• Central Business District•4.6

- DDee DeevipNew Orleans / Louisiana •16 reviews5.0Dined 3 days agoMy fiancé and I had an amazing time…service was impeccable. Our server Michelle was attentive and extremely knowledgeable and amicable. The wait staff were equally attentive. Now the food was divine, starting with the delectable homemade biscuits, that came every 10 minutes…we stopped after two so we could have room for our meal! We shared an order of fried oysters as a starter…OMG! Then we had the beet and pear salads…fantastic. My fiancé chose the scalibut and I had the red snapper…both succulent dishes. And an added bonus is that if you park at a particular lot the restaurant suggests and take a picture of your license plate that you share on arrival, the restaurant pays a 3-hour time period…wow, never heard of. In summary we will definitely return and highly recommend this New Orleans institution! Please make your reservations immediately!!More infoGW FinsPrice: Very Expensive• Seafood• French Quarter•4.9

12 stellar special-occasion restaurants in New Orleans

4 Must-Book Restaurants in New Orleans
New Orleans’s restaurants are the beating heart of this festive city, and to say they’ve had a tough few years would be putting it mildly. The good news is that hospitality is calling again, and nobody does it better than the restaurateurs, chefs, servers, and bartenders that call the Big Easy home. Superior service continues to set New Orleans’s restaurant scene apart. Among the standouts, there’s a brand-new izakaya helmed by a meticulous executive chef who spent time in Japan and a Mid-City tapas bar that churns out a one-of-its-kind, afterhours brunch for the midnight munchies. Discover New Orleans
French, Spanish and Creole influences evolved New Orleans cuisine into a genre all its own. Combine Gulf coast seafood, a butter-based sauce and Cajun spices, and you’re looking at a classic Nola dish. Take the famed crawfish boil, for instance, which locals advise is best eaten as a family. In the aftermath of hurricane Katrina, the restaurant industry banded together to support their city in the wake of serious devastation. New restaurants began opening their doors, and today you’ll find a wealth of cuisines that span the classics to modern reinventions to everything in between.
