We are currently offering seating in our bar area, patio, and dining room. The garden area is open on a limited basis and taken on a first come first serve for walk-ins.
Serving dinner and bistro fare, Alchemy Restaurant and Bar offers cuisine transformed. With our Executive Chef, Michael Bryant, we specialize in fresh local ingredients, craft cocktails and boutique wines. We were honored to be named one of the Top 100 Restaurants for Foodies by OpenTable in 2015.

Hearsay Restaurant Lounge and Garden

Hearsay’s modern take on American cuisine and cocktails combines with the distinct atmosphere and music of the 1930s to create a space that is warm, inviting, and unlike any other in Southern Oregon. Situated just below the beloved Oregon Cabaret Theatre and a three-minute walk from the world-renowned Oregon Shakespeare Festival.
Garden seating is based upon availability at the time of your reservation. If requested, and not available we will place you in the dining room or lounge. Please note: pets not allowed in the garden. Thank you!

At Chateaubriand 36, we bring a taste of French cuisine to Ashland with our rustic yet elegant steakhouse. Our Executive Chef, Michael Bryant, infuses the menu with his French flair, creating classic dishes with a unique twist. Alchemy is our restaurant of choice for special occasions. Our experience this evening verified that trust. All five of us at the table were impressed with the excellence of the meals as well as the presentation. Our waiter went out of his way to make sure our evening was as special as it could be. There are many wonderful dining opportunities in our town... Alchemy remains at the top.

I can’t begin to describe how authentic and delectable the cuisine is here in this beautiful Italian restaurant. From the service staff to the chefs, I would just like to applaud everyone in this establishment. I am not kidding when our party of four people finished off our pasta plates and left absolutely nothing! I had the lasagna and the béchamel was simply exquisite. I hadn’t had a lasagna like this once since Milano in 2018! The lamb Ragu pappardelle , and the lamb tagliatelle were absolutely delicious! Our party of four also had dessert. The tiramisu, and the Panna cotta we’re both silky, sweet and luscious! All in all, it was such a wonderful dining experience, and the actual ambience of the whole restaurant is stellar!

This is now my favorite restaurant. The Chateubriand tenderloin was the best it could be and cooked to perfection. The staff were wonderful and the atmosphere was quiet and sophisticated. I want nothing else for a celebratory dinner and I so recommend this restaurant. I wish great success and prosperity for Chateubriand 36.
