We had family gathering in Austin . We drove from San Antonio and met our friends and families .. It was the first time in this restaurant and we really like the view.. ambiance was awesome and service as well. Food was not the best but decent. I heard that they have been improved their food .. also deserts were also good .. we will go back for sure .. thanks to servers there , they were awesome and attentive !!

First time back here since it reopened and it did not disappoint! Our waiter was really knowledgeable and helpful when it came to making decisions on the menu. We ended up getting the meatballs and clams for starters, both were awesome (my fav meatballs in Austin). I had the blue crab pasta for my entree and that was delicious plus a huge portion so I’ll get more meals out of it, but you could almost certainly split it with someone. The hot chocolate cake was the cherry on top of a great meal. Can’t wait to go back!

Our anniversary dinner could not have been more special at Aba. We started off with marinated olives and feta, accompanied with smoked garlic hummus, and their fresh baked bread was delicious. To top off our little spread of accoutrements we had the chilled cucumber with fresh mint, and a cashew sauce was out of this world. After that we weren’t as hungry, but we opted for the lamb and beef kebabs with a side of brussels sprouts. The brussels sprouts were a bit too sweet for me with the inclusion of the honey, but my wife loved them.

The food was amazing (though you are certainly paying for it), the ambiance was upscale and quite nice but they turned the lights down so low I could hardly see my husbands face which was overkill, and while the service was high quality our server was so overly-attentive that it actually detracted from the experience. He walked us through every. page. of the menu which was unnecessary, and stopped back so many times to check on how we were doing (I swear at one point it was 3 times in 15 minutes) that I was distracted from just eating my food! Also his suggestions were very general, "oh everything is great", and not super helpful. Anyways obviously the most important part is the food, which was delicious. We ordered: Artichoke, Potato and Leek Soup- this was a seasonal item and very good; it came out lukewarm and I'm not sure if that was intended, but it was delicious and unique. Escargot- amazing! The escargot was so tender and just smothered in caramelized garlic and I think bits of feta, with little circles of puff pastry over each escargot. The puff pastry was just so-so (a little chewy) but the actual escargot was great. Koji-Aged Filet Mignon- I believe this was also a seasonal item, it was fantastically tender and seasoned lightly but perfectly; I don't know that I particularly noticed a difference from the Koji but it was delicious. Chateaubriand Three Ways- also delicious; if you are looking to primarily enjoy the flavor of the steak I wouldn't recommend this as the sauces are quite rich but I really liked the variety and thought they were all great. The asparagus was cooked perfectly. Roasted Sherried Mushrooms- tasty, rich, sauteed mushrooms. The sauce was also great with a bite of steak. Chargrilled Vegetables- again very simple, but the veggies were all roasted perfectly and were delicious. I still need to try the pork chop lunch special so I'll be back!
