- RRandolphVIPWashington, D.C. Area •91 reviews5.0Dined 2 days agoWe had a light dinner--soup and salad. The mushroom soup and the gumbo both were excellent, and the salad and bread always are good. Kayla was our server, and she was excellent. Excellent food, excellent service, and a very friendly staff.More infoDuners RestaurantPrice: Expensive• American• Charlottesville•4.7

- CCraigWashington, D.C. Area •4 reviews4.0Dined 4 days agoElegant dinning room as would be expected from this storied resort. Food was good. Only issue is I ordered filet mignon medium rare and it came well done. Sent back, it came back medium well. Waiter comped our drinks which was fair, but a renowned restaurant like this should be able to cook steaks as requested.More infoAmerican Audubon Dining RoomPrice: Expensive• Continental• Hot Springs•4.4
- DDavidVirginia •1 review5.0Dined 7 days agoThe dimly lit dining room set a warm atmosphere along with the gentle piano music in the background. We began with a cup of hot cappuccino and great conversation. We moved to a crab cocktail with a little spice and a burst of flavor. Our steaks were cooked to perfection and tender. The asparagus and potatoes au gratin was exquisite. The service staff was orchestrated with excellence and accommodated our needs. We will definitely return soon as we enjoyed a fabulous dining experience.More infoHaywood'sPrice: Moderate• Contemporary American• Lexington•4.3

Discover Lexington
Home to Washington and Lee University as well as Virginia Military Institute, this small college town boasts a variety of restaurants and has a pretty big brunch culture. This area is becoming a major part of the food "counter culture" with many restaurants using locally produced ingredients and offering farm-to-table menus. Highlights of the Lexington food scene include traditional Southern favorites like shrimp and grits, cheese grits, and locally caught catfish and trout over seasonal veggies. This part of Virginia is also farm country, and you'll be hard pressed to find fresher meats or vegetables than those found in Lexington's restaurants.
