Lovely views, excellent service from anll especially our server Summer. Good value compared to other places we dined at in Canada. The lamb and chicken dishes were cooked well and we were given a celebration card and plate - thank you all

Hy’s Steakhouse has long been a go-to for exceptional dining in Vancouver, and our recent experience reaffirmed why it remains one of the city’s finest. The food was, as always, truly outstanding. The filet mignon was perfectly cooked, melt-in-your-mouth tender, and seasoned with care. You simply won’t find a better steak anywhere in Vancouver. Watching the tableside preparation of Caesar salad, Steak Diane, and Bananas Foster added a delightful, old-school charm to our evening, making it a true culinary treat. However, as much as we’ve come to expect flawless service from Hy’s, our visit was met with some uncharacteristic bumps. There was a large party upstairs, and it seemed to have thrown the staff slightly off their usual game. Cocktails were delayed, and one of our main dishes was overcooked—something very rare for Hy’s. But, as we all know, even the finest establishments can have an off night, and it’s how they recover that truly defines them. In this case, the team at Hy’s handled everything with the utmost professionalism. Our server was attentive, and the leadership quickly rectified the issues, ensuring that we were well taken care of. They went above and beyond to make sure our celebration was not just saved, but transformed into a memorable experience. What could have been a letdown was instead turned around thanks to their attention to detail and commitment to exceptional customer service. Our compliments to the chef, our server, and the entire team for making what was meant to be a special birthday dinner an evening to remember. We hadn’t been to Hy’s in years, and this experience has guaranteed we’ll be back sooner rather than later.

Excellent staff and food. Had the seven course kaiseki and all was amazing. Best sushi I’ve ever had with crazy good flavours and freshness. The sake pairing was interesting too. Tried types I’ve never had before. Would go back for sure on an extra special occasion.

The food is remarkable and loved everything we ordered: mixed greens salad, tomatoes with buratta cheese, 100 layer ravioli, & veal tongue, unique and beautifully balanced flavors. It’s like a cerebral foodie experience. Our server was delightful. Some sharing plates were rather expensive, but we thoroughly enjoyed our meal! Thank you!

We were glad we’d made a reservation as the restaurant was busy on a Thursday evening. Our window table had a nice view of crowded street and our server welcomed us with a glass of sparkling wine. He helped us with our questions on the menu. The service was efficient and unabtrusive. We Wanted Greek specialties and started with the flaming Saganaki. It was delicious. We ordered the Souvlaki Platter even though the server coached us that it included two skewers each of beef, chicken, Tiger Prawns and salmon. When the platter arrived it was easily enough for four - lol. It was excellent and fed us for the next two nights. The glasses of Sangiovese added to our enjoyment of the evening. Next time we’ll save room for the Baklava. We will be back!!
